I head about cook out a lot but never had it before because it's not in New York or Florida. I was extremely disappointed and I was underwhelmed. It definitely gave McDonalds Chicken Selects. They also forgot to give a spoon to try the Cole slaw and only gave once dipping sauce. I was really excited to try but would never go back.

Combo with a corn dog and hushpuppies with a Big Double Cheddar Style

Awesome concept. Especially with the local colleges in the area, open late and cheap. The layout of the restaurant is actually kind of small, especially if you are dining in. I saw around 10 tables ish I think. The whole experience was great and super fast paced. The restaurant is new, so it's super clean and remodeled. I'll be anxious to see how the cleaning and upkeep stays over the next few months. First, the service. Absolutely awesome, the ordering process was new to me and the cashier was extremely helpful. I ordered, fixed my sweet tea, and waited for my number to be called. As soon as my number was called a table opened up. It was like it was meant to be. There were a few employees walking around and checking on customers asking if everything was good. The Food. So in my eyes, this place is legit for a late night dinner or a hangover cure. It's also legit for a family dinner or lunch. You "should" order a combo. The combo is 4.99 (add $1 more for a milkshake instead of a drink) and you get to pick one "big item" two "side items" and the drink. So the big items, have about 20 items. The Sides include half or more of what the big items are! Yes, you could get a big double, chicken nuggets, and a chicken quesadilla for 4.99 with a drink. Baller! The Big Double Cheddar Style was awesome. Nacho cheese sauce, mayo, sautéed onions, and of course bacon. The patties were thin, but perfect. The corn dog was pretty good, I ate it last and it had gotten a little colder, but it was the perfect texture. The hushpuppies, generic but I love hushpuppies so it was perfect for me. You seriously have unlimited options here, I cannot wait to go back whether it's late night, early morning, or lunch. This place will have a special spot with me. PS they are I believe a Christian based company. The Huge Tea Cup has John 3:16 on it and they played some awesome tunes in the store.

Located among tattoo parlors and pawn shops in North Huntsville is a new restaurant called Cook Out. I think they opened about 2 months ago and they have drawn huge crowds. Today was no different with the drive-thru lane backed up and about 10 people inside waiting to give their orders. Although the line was long they were quick to process the orders. The menu can be a little confusing, but after a couple minutes to study it the decision was very clear...order the "tray". You get to select your sandwich, two sides, and a drink... and all of this is $4.99. I ordered a double cheeseburger, a corn dog, Cajun fries, and a drink. That is a lot of food for $4.99. My number was quickly called and I sat down to eat. The burger was a little small so I am glad I ordered the double. The burger tasted like burgers you cook outside on the grill. Not sure how they induced that flavor, maybe with charcoal, but it was good. The corn dog was average and Cajun fries had plenty of Cajun seasoning. The restaurant was clean and they posted a Board of Health score of 94. The walls were lined with Alabama A&M and Oakwood college memorabilia, so they catering to the local college students. My ticket was $5.93.

Regular Burger w/ Fries and Onion Rings

I had been to the location in Tuscaloosa about a year back and after hearing that Huntsville was getting one I immediately got excited. We went in to eat at lunch time the first week they were opened and the place was packed. We got in the line that was wrapped around the inside of the building and looked over the menu while we waited. After getting up to the counter I ordered the combo. They are countless choices to pair together but I ultimately ended up getting the Regular Burger, Cajun Fries, Onion Rings, and a large drink. All that food for only $4.99! Seriously you can't beat that anywhere around town. After ordering we waited off to the side with several other people. When they called out our number I was surprised becasue we had only been waiting for only about 5 minutes and they were packed. After looking for a table we saw that they were all occupied so we were forced to go to our car to eat. After opening up the plastic take out box the food comes in I was pleased to see the burger was a little above average in size and there was a good amount of the sides as well. The burger that I ordered came with the meat, lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, and mustard. The burger tasted good but nothing to rave about. The French Fries were very crispy and the Cajun seasoning on them gave them a nice kick. The Onion Rings were certainly the highlight of the meal. The breading on the outside was cooked very well. Also on my second visit we went in for the single purpose of getting a milkshake. I got a peanut butter and fudge milkshake. It was very thick and had amazing flavor. Overall I'd say that Cookout has decent food and the main attraction to return is the amount of food you receive at such a low price.

The day shift is better than the night shift, but I think that's everywhere.... anywhere past 9 pm, they're always really slow.

They were super busy (and seemingly short staffed) however, that didn't stop them from being Johnny-on-the-spot greeting us, taking our order, and getting our drinks, apps, and entrees to us in a timely matter. Our waitress even kept apologizing for how busy she was, but that sweet lady was HUSTLING!! We got build your own burgers and fries for sides, and everything was hot, flavorful, and the fries were crispy and seasoned, burgers were juicy and perfectly cooked! It's your typical scene when it comes to sit-down burger places, nothing extraordinary, but it was comfy and accessible! Getting 4 stars ONLY because of the price. Our family of 3 getting an entree each, one appetizer to share, and 2 sodas 1 water walked out paying $91 after tip, so, don't go here if you're looking for budget friendly! Aside from the cost, which is comparable to just about everywhere these days, it's definitely worth a try! Lots of options aside from burgers, including salads, grilled and fried chicken AND meatless burger options! So yes, vegetarians, you can dine too! Pretty sure I saw a Vegan option as well! 100% will go again!

My Sorority Sister and I went there after my hair appointment around the corner. Last time I was here, my group of sorority sisters enjoyed their house made BBQ chips, Montreal poutine, Asian ribs, and fries. The poutine and ribs were bit hits for our group of four. I recall the giant pretzel I had on my visit here with my coworkers. It came with the bro jo beer cheese dip that I recall being delicious and my Sister and I decided to order the Bacon Wrapped Pretzel Bites app., which is described as "bite-sized pretzel pieces wrapped in bacon with hot honey and bro jo cheese sauce." I typically don't like sweet anything, and I did not care for the "hot honey." If you don't care for sweet either, ask for the sauce on the side. As it was I could sort of cover the sweetness of the honey sauce with the cheese dip. The bacon was cooked well and managed to stay crispy, which was good! We split the Cheesesteak sandwich described as "thinly sliced grilled ribeye, sauteed onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms in melty white American cheese served on a toasted hoagie roll with a choice of side." We went with fries as the side and 86d the mushrooms. Thank goodness for the fries, which were good! This sandwich was a crime against sandwiches! If you've ever had the unfortunate experience of eating Steak-umms, then you know what I'm talking about! I think Ale's Kitchen86d all the toppings except the cheese so we had basically Steak-umm "meat" and some cheese. Ale's Kitchen is in a brewery, Straight to Ale, and I'm happy they do offer two wines: a chardonnay and a red blend. I again had the chardonnay which was, as I recalled from the last visit, flavorless. The staff were friendly, efficient, answered questions, ensured we had everything we needed, were overall kind, and our orders were promptly prepared and delivered to our table. The restrooms were clean!

I didn't have high expectations, but I would definitely go back. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. The fries good. We were served a giant grilled chicken sandwich. It looked delish. That was our bad too. The chicken looked like it had seasoning on it, maybe it was just crud from the grill, but this was definitely an unseasoned piece of chicken. We both ordered grilled mushrooms and onions. Those didn't even help the flavor. We moved on to honey mustard, trying to save the sandwich. Unfortunately, the sauce did nothing but make the bun fall apart. We now had a flavorless mess to deal with - eat it or trash it. My husband chose "eat it" because he hates to see food wasted. He complained with almost every bite. I chose "trash it" - I'm too old to eat things I don't like. There were numerous sides available - fries, tots, o-rings, cheese curds and fried pickles. We opted for the rings to share. For just over $4, we received 6 onion rings. They weren't anything special at all - just a rip-off. My husband and I have gotten into the habit of rating every meal - luckily he's generous with the stars when I'm cooking! We had waffled a little but decided on a three. That's until we went to the restroom to wash our hands. The woman's room obviously hadn't had a good, deep cleaning in quite some time. It's beyond the point of a couple paper towels and a bottle of windex. My husband said the men's room wasn't the best either. That three stars suddenly became a hard 2. Wayback Burgers is convenient for us, their loyalty program is pretty straightforward and coupons are not too difficult to find. Unfortunately, the food and cleanliness just made all of those positives nill.
