Just about the worst food/service I've ever received. There's this no chin, lanky, pale ass white boy who works there. He obviously doesn't listen to your order as his mic cuts in and out while he tries to interrupt you while you're ordering. Specified that I wanted a coke with no ice. I ordered a walking taco with extra jalapeños. I get down the road and realize they put green peppers in the bag. So I go back and ask for jalapeños since these clearly are bell peppers. Keaira, the cashier, tells me that they are jalapeño peppers and not green peppers. I'm like girl, these are green peppers. I spent $26.00 at the Hudson lBlvd site in Gastonia, NC, and Beverly said I could not get a tray without a drink for a discount. OK. When she handed me the order, I asked if everything was in the bag, and she said, "Yes." One of the few times we didn't read the reviews prior to my husband's and my going to a food place. Wish we had. We've never been to a Cook Out fast food place before so when one of my husband's coworkers recommended the Cook Out on Union Blvd here in Gastonia, NC., we figured it'd be a decent place. Two days ago...Tuesday, October 27th...we stopped there for a Take-Out supper since our home is only ten minutes away. Because there were about 6 or 7 cars ahead of us at the Drive-Thru window, we decided to park and walk up to the Walk-Up window where we ordered TWO IDENTICAL "HUGE" BURGERS (the largest size). These cost $3.99 EACH along with our paying the required extra cost for "cheese" and "tomato" on both burgers. (Mayo, Ketchup, and a thin slice of raw Onion were free) We also ordered TWO LARGE FRIES since we wanted something larger than their only other choice of "regular". Each "HUGE" Burger was $3.99 +$1.00 cheese SAUCE ("Velveeta"?) + .10 tomato ________ $5 .09 total cost of ONE burger Each "LARGE Fry" was $1.99 each... $3.98 Total Total cost of our order: $15.15 After receiving our food we went straight home. When we got there and saw what our food actually looked like, we were disgusted. Our buns were regular hamburger-size buns with damp, wrinkled 'caps'. They felt and looked as though they had been kept in a steamer for a little too long. Each hamburger had two small balls of 'well-done' DRY ground meat that was slightly flattened and had no flavor. (I think the 'cook' was aiming for "Shoe Leather" instead of "Well-Done" because the juice just wasn't there, taking the flavor with it). My husband...who'd rather eat a cheeseburger than steak...said our burgers looked as though they were just slightly-flattened meatballs, ESPECIALLY since EACH of them was too small to reach the edges of the buns. And the BUNS were SMALL, ALREADY!. THE TWO "LARGE FRIES" WERE ONLY BARELY WARM, NOT HOT...LIMP AS A RAG...and the amount received was the size of REGULAR fries sold at other fast food places. The size of the Cook Out's " LARGE" fry bag, itself, seemed like it would have been okay if actually filled. Not STUFFED, just FILLED! But the amount of fries given only filled HALF OF EACH BAG, at the most. AND THAT AMOUNT AS WELL AS THE BAD QUALITY OF THOSE FRIES IS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $1.99 each! Personally, with all the cars going through the drive thru, I don't know how any fry could have been sitting long enough to cool off and "age" this well! All in all, McDonalds, Wendys, and Burger King make larger, better-tasting burgers, using the same ingredients we had, here. (AND they use cheese slices, not a cheese sauce which, IMO, is better saved for making Mac 'N Cheese.) Also, a LARGE fry at McDonalds, Wendys, or Burger King will give you TWICE the amount of fries than what you'll receive at this particular Cook Out! As my grandmother used to say, "He who trips over same stone twice deserves to break shin!" We will definitely not go back to any Cook Out fast food place again. When you're hungry, the LAST thing you want to do is gamble on what a place is actually going to give you. read more

So you're wanting to place your order efficient and effective and quick because we don't want to be soaking wet I attempted to place an order for my seven-year-old niece and the lady at the drive-through was completely snarky about a cheeseburger with plain ketchup I specifically addressed to them that I want a cheeseburger with plain catch up and I kept getting asked if I wanted cheese on it, and then when I said I just want to ketchup on the cheeseburger they said OK you want a burger with just ketchup I drove to the window to asked to speak to the manager because clearly the person in the drive-through did not understand how to take in order to find out that was the manager. I arrived at 1:30pm. This location closes at 2pm (on Wednesday). I sit in the most inside lane behind a car for around 5 or so minutes. While the lady Infront of me orders she is being yelled at by whoever is taking her order. "NO MILKSHAKES NO MILK SHAKE MIX" The woman Ordering asked for a corn dog tray... after the woman ordered I pulled up next. I waited 5 more minutes and nothing. A man pulled into the most outside lane and got his order taken immediately. I backed up and went in the outside lane and the rude woman yelled "CAN I HELP YOU??" Although I really like the food here this location in particular isn't the best to go to. They constantly get your order wrong and the employees are anything but friendly. All the employees seem to be interested in anything but you and what you are ordering. I love cook out but this location is really hit or miss, mostly miss. We went and got 4 trays the other night and waited 21 minutes. In that 21 minutes 2 people came back because their orders were messed up. The sad part is they weren't that busy, but employees were busy goofing off. I'm not sure why it took so long but I'm pretty sure 2 of our trays sat while waiting on the others, or at least the 2 with fries. The fries were gross and they couldn't have got any more grease on my burger unless they served it in a bowl.
