The urologist called my cell phone to update me on his condition. What I'm saying is that my dad is slowly beating this cancer he thought would be unbeatable, and it's because of the staff here. Every single person working here, from surgeons to janitors, are friendly and positive and have helped him keep his spirits up as they give him top-notch treatment. I am now and will always be grateful to Memorial Hospital for everything they've done for my father and I. Today I got a phone call from Cross from her personal cell phone number at 12:25PM when she began arguing with me about my medical illnesses and had me on speaker phone and talked about me and my issues on speaker phone with other nurses around her. I feel like this is a violation of my privacy rights. And, this is not the first time this has happened. They had another Triage Nurse named Kathleen call me and put me on speaker phone and began talking very rudely and unprofessional demeaner with other nurses in the room. They have been slandering me to other health care providers and giving me bad health care advise. For example first she said my urine test came back with blood in it, then she said it came back normal. And, she continued to talk down to me when I needed some support and understanding. This office should be shut down. I have several close friends who did not recommend this place. It is not sanitary and everyone working there is always agruing. The way they speak to customers is absolutely shocking. I have told the manager Steven, that they should be recording the conversations that the nurses have with the patients, because the nurses maliciously disregard the rights of the patients and refuse to pay any respect to the patients. I was a victim of their abuse, when they had me on speaker phone several times, and began gossiping about me behind my back. What I don't understand is she has plenty of time to call me from her cell phone to argue about how I communicated with her colleagues but she never had a moment to call me to discuss my healthcare questions or my needs as a patient. Not even once! I filed a report against this office.

I immediately remembered why I swore to never come hete again. My doctor was inexperienced. I aas diagnosed with shingles. My skin wasn't examined. She looked from a few feet away and after I told her how it started, she backed away and said "That's definitely shingles!" Shingles, Doc, not leprosy. Today I called ClearChoise MD because I am in a lot of unexpected pain. They say, in order for the doctor presently on duty to prescribe anything, I'd need to come back in for him to examine me. I don't have another $160 when all my info from yesterday's exam is on file. Receptionist then tells me they don't prescribe narcotics, "so I don't know what you expect him to do for you". Unbelievable. If you cannot treat a person for what they go in for, then why would you take $160 from them knowing this. And in the type of care they offer it does say they treat any skin rash. In my opinion, treatment means helping the person get better for the illness at hand, not just sending one prescription out, not asking any questions about Pain or give advice on pain management. Clear Choise my ass. I am hoping to hear from the provider who is in today, to see how this continues.

When I asked for clarification, I was told I wasn't registered, despite having completed everything and being told I was checked in. I also received conflicting information regarding my insurance and reimbursement, and when I asked to speak with a manager, I felt like I was being given the runaround. I also had concerns about private information being discussed across the reception area where others could potentially hear. The most frustrating part is that i left without any information about the reimbursement just a paper and card. The female behind the counter put it down that i was only there for ten minutes. My pharmacy information was also incorrect. I hope management addresses this situation and reviews how patients are being checked in and treated. There was no professionalism and I hope no other colored person has to experience what I did. I wasn't able to get her name but it was the woman who worked behind the front desk today. I didnt want to go to SMMC but it was the closest hospital. Usually I would go to MMC or Northern Light Mercy. Let me tell you from start to finish I got quality care. From the front desk to the doctor it was seemless. Even security there was kind and empathetic. In the first hour that I was there I already had heen registered, triaged, labs ordered and had my EKG. Half hour after that I was in a comfortable room with a TV. Because I was so dehydrated they could not find a vein to do an IV. Three different people came to look but not one of them poked me. They sent in a team with an Ultra sound machine to find the vein. Even though the Dr suspected Noro Virus he did a ct abdominal scan because I was in so much pain. I was thankful we were able to rule out anything life threatening. I left there after 6:00. I got to my pharmacy before 7:00 and my medication was there waiting for me. I wanted to give this review because SMMC has a bad rap. MMC is the place everyone would recommend you go to, but the experience there is hellish. If you get shot in the head or run over by a bus yes MMC is the place to go. If you are not dying, but feel like you are SMMC is a great option. I am not saying they don't handle trauma situations I am sure they do, they are an ER and not an urgent care, but MMC is a trauma one hospital so unless you are a trauma one patient, you will recieve better care at SMMC.
