I was seen within a half hour of my arrival by Geraldine Lau DNP, APRN. I felt she was very attentive and really listened. The nurse who checked me in was fantastic as well. She didn't go immediately to medication but gave me practical things to do to address my condition. That afternoon I got a call from her recommending specific exercises and also an over the counter product that might provide relief. I am extremely pleased with the care I received today. It just doesn't sound like a good combination your eye and a scalpel no thank you. However; although I was there to comfort and aid my partner, wife, and very best friend for a life, I was amazed at how brave she was, she meditated before going in and then she was just calm cool and collected. I think I was absolutely more nervous than she was. I definitely was. So I waited around for a while until she came out which actually ,the operation didn't take very long. You came out actually smiling, even though she had a glass patch over her eye, she looked comfortable she was so happy. It wasn't a big deal. And now she was going to be fed. The attendant who is Duane, has to be once one of the most kind ,compassionate, caring, nurses. He was actually what I would say remarkable . He took time to not just explain how her aftercare was supposed to go. He made sure neither one of us had any questions We had complete understanding of the next process. The drops that have to be paid in when they have to be taken everything seems so simple now. My dear wife is not in any pain. She says it was no big deal. She never even mentioned a scalpel. I don't want to forget Roberta. Roberta is another one. I swear I don't know where you get these exceptional human beings to work for you. They're not just great at what they do, they're exceptional. They can relate to people as most people never could , it's is so easy for them. Let's see now . . . two hips replaced along with my left knee. My left knee and right hip replacements were performed by Dr. Thomas W. Rock. Irrespective, my chose Mountain Center for physical therapy and, in particular, Jaclyn Salldin, PT. My background is physical education so I thoroughly understand the process. This facility is one of the best in the area. There is a strong sense of professionalism coupled with extensive knowledge of PT technique. Also, the entire groups of PTs are personable and creative. The office staff is absolutely outstanding. I was always greeted personally and with a smile. It is critical to enter physical therapy with a positive outlook and these professionals will help. Jaclyn, currently on maternity leave, is extraordinary. She has the ability to change her techniques based upon need. With my PE and strong science background, I was able to introduce some potential exercises that would help overcome a problem with posterior knee pain associated with surgery. Thus, it was a team effort. I am very particular about selecting medical staff and The Mountain Center TOTAL staff fulfilled all my expectations and more. Consequently, I now pay a monthly fee to use the facility as a "gym." Jaclyn, although not required to do so, still watches over me.
