If I could give this school zero stars I would. We moved to Escondido in 2015 and this was our home school, because we moved in late August after the school year started we didn't have the opportunity to request a transfer to a different school. I can understand why this school is a 2/10. My son attended this school for all of 3rd, 4th and most of 5th grade. The problems really started right away. My son would come home and tell me about kids throwing chairs in class, running out of the classroom, swearing at the teacher and it was like nothing had happened. The teacher did not have any control of the classroom what so ever. In 4th grade was when the bullying started, my son was bullied everday for a couple of months. I spoke to the teacher, the principal and the school counselor on several occasions and informed them of what was going on, voicing my concerns as a parent. While they continued to tell me they were 'handling' the situation the bullying continued. Finally with no where else to go, I called the super indendent of EUS. My concerns were immediatley listened to and action was taken the very next day. The boy was removed from the classroom and the bullying stopped. Why did it have to come to this? Now in 5th grade we're experiencing the same thing. This time my son knows that if he fights back the bullying might stop, so that's what he did. I again informed both the teacher and the principal of things happening and they both ensured me it was being looked into. Finally my son got into a fight and was suspended. SUSPENDED for defending himself after I told them time and time again what was going on. The principal Mrs. Meglich really needs to go back to school and learn how to run a school, she needs to learn how to STOP bullying not just sweep it under the rug.
Thankfully we had been applying to other schools so before he got suspended he was already accepted into another school.
Bullying should be ZERO tollerance, not chance after chance after chance. read more
