Today we held services at Continental Funeral Home in Ontario and it was so organized and a wonderful tribute to Irene, my father's wife. Father Kenneth was terrific and spoke with a heart and passion for our Lord Jesus Christ and truly touched the hearts in attendance. Gerardo Gamez with Continental was a blessing not only at the chapel and service but also at the cemetary burial and prayer session. Gerardo showed the love of Christ and for our family and friends. What an amazing brother. The preparation, set up and floral arrangements as well as Irene's viewing and casket were done so nicely and with love and respect. From making arrangements on the phone with Continental staff (Brayan, Jose and others) to the actual service and burial Continental was first class and so compassionate and caring. It is very sad to write this review. You would think that during the most difficult time a family can be going through the people at this funeral home would make easier for us to say our goodbyes. Veronica, the person who assisted me was beyond unprofessional, from not returning our phone calls to not caring about it at all, lack of communication, mismanaged, bad coordination. We had two services in one day in Ontario and one service in Orange, It was so difficult for both our families, this woman didn't coordinate accordingly. We got wrong information about the dates and time. We didn't get any prayer cards for the second service. We asked to use a private room, the asked us go behind the curtains in a hot small area during a hot day. The air conditioning was turned off exactly at the end of the service even though they said we didn't have to leave right away. L If you want to add more pain and suffering use their services. I wish I had not. So disappointed with Veronica and everyone else. read more

Review for their Los Angeles location on Beverly Bl They did such a terrible job preparing my fathers body for the viewing that we ultimately had to make it a closed casket ceremony. My father passed away from COVID 19. This was truly a devastating moment to add onto an already heartbreaking experience. This was the last time me and my family would see him and say goodbye after weeks of having to keep our distance. We provided multiple photos for reference. I truly can not understand what happened. I can't explain how someone could ethically and morally do this. They really must be so desensitized that they have so little regard for grieving families. When I called to ask about what happened they said they would call me back in two minutes. They never called back. The funeral began and we had to close the casket. I will never get back that moment and I will always have to remember what they did to my fathers face. read more

My grandmother passed away last month and I chose to do the wake here. The staff was wonderful. Extremely helpful, understanding, compassionate, and empathetic. They answered all my questions and the day of ran smoothly. There was a minor mistake on our programs with the prayer, but they were able to fix it with new copies before the wake started so that was great. Thank you, Ricardo. The prices are also great! One of the cheapest around but definitely high quality. The only thing I would have wanted differently were the chairs. I wish they would have benches. The lady that helped us (I feel bad I can't remember her name but she was very sweet and helpful) said they were working on getting benches and decorating the chapel a bit more. With those additions I don't see why this place couldn't get 5 stars. read more

This is a very awkward review to give, but I don't want anyone to have the terrible experience that my family and I had. This place screwed up my mother's viewing pretty badly. I don't even know where to begin. The lady spent HOURS planning with us, and in the end, too many mistakes were made. A few mistakes being made is understandable, but it was pretty ridiculous. There were typos on the flyers that were passed out. Adriana promised to send us a copy to view before they were printed, that never happened. My mom's make-up did not look very natural. We even shared a picture of my mom, and I was not pleased with her appearance. The planner said that she could bring a priest in to help us make the ceremony more special. She assured us that he would "do such a nice service" for us. When the "priest" got there, he asked us what we wanted him to do. He was completely clueless. He was an extra $75.00, which is why I feel he was recommended. It would have been worth it if he knew why he was there. The word priest is used loosely because,upon meeting him, I was weary...he had a long pinky nail! Are you kidding me!!! The young guy who was responsible for opening the place got there late, and I felt like instead of him taking charge, we had to keep asking about different issues. About an hour into our service I ask him if the coffee is ready for our guests, he answers with "not yet". I was so annoyed that I even had to ask about something so insignificant. The entire experience was just sad, and very annoying. We did not have a professional staff to work with, and everything we planned did not happen. From the moment I picked up the phone to inquire about their services I was provided with courteous, compassionate and supportive service by Adriana. She explained every detail of the process, went over my options in a detailed manner and took her time to make sure I understood, which is helpful when your planning a service for your loved one. Her main priority was for the family not to worry and have peace of mind about anything when the time came. When the moment came. I picked up the phone to inform them of our loved one passing. They took care everything. I did not have any problems or worried about anything. Flowers were ready, music and power point was ready when we asked. My mother looked beautiful just as I asked. Adriana was so helpful and answer all my questions. I probably ask the same question many times. She never rush is to sing a contract.

My dad chose this place for my mother's funeral and I really wish he hadn't. Adriana was nice enough in person, but never really answered any of our questions after our initial meeting, was horrible at communicating, and didn't follow through on all of her promises (no easels for pictures, couldn't deliver on our slide show, mom's nails weren't painted, make up done incorrectly.) I honestly wondered why we spent so many hours planning if they weren't going to pay attention to our wishes. The day of they were late to open the funeral home by a half hour and our private family time to say goodbye didn't happen because we had to set up during that time. The florist came by and left again because the gate wasn't open. We had pictures we paid good money to display, blown up photos that we had to place on the floor because the easels Adriana assured us we could use were nowhere to be found. Just my personal opinion, but the guy that was late to open the door, and just stood around the entire evening, was dressed very unprofessionally, baggy pants, untucked shirt, designs shaved into his head and piercings everywhere, i was embarrassed of what my family thought of us choosing a place like this. All in all it felt like they were winging it and it was the very first funeral. No one had an answer to our questions, no one knew what to do and no one delivered on what we were told to expect. We called Adriana the day of, never was able to talk to here. Here we are, almost a week out and we have yet to hear from them about everything that went wrong. No apology. Nothing. I'm angry and sad that we had to worry about so much other crap when all we should have worried about was saying by to my mother. A decent funeral home should make sure all you focus on in saying goodbye to your loved one. I would say "you get what you pay for," but even being slightly more affordable it was still a lot of money to have to deal with so much unnecessary grief. read more
