The lady on the phone informed me it was cash only and I can sell back the money I don't use at the current exchange rate at the same of return. The cashier lady was friendly and greeted me upon entering. I asked her about the Yen and she informed me of the exchange rate information. The transaction was fast and easy. Came here to exchange currency twice in the past 2 years. Both rates for USD to Chinese Yuan and Mexican Pesos were the best compared to everywhere near my place in Anaheim. Very easy process. Call to order the money if large amount. It will come within 2-3 days. Will be coming here anytime I need to exchange some currency. Tip: Make sure to exchange your money back to USD at the country you are visiting. Exchanging back here in the U.S. is horrible rates compared to wherever you are visiting. If you can wait to exchange your USD to other currencies, it is also better to exchange at the other country. I'm sad that I have to change my review from last year because of this incident. I believe they have competitive exchange rates, but this incident proves that some staff may not have your best interest in mind. They either cannot do math, do not understand that an exchange rate is comprised of fractions and have units (or can be rewritten as a ratio, however you want to view it), or tried to scam us. My experience: As of September 30, 2022, the exchange rate is $1 USD = 1.014 Euro. (Notice, that means the USD is STRONGER than the Euro.) We called earlier and they had let us know of their exchange rate beforehand, said there were no fees, and that they had Euros available. When we arrived in person, they had kept their promise on the phone (same exchange rate and no fee), so we were happy. We had $1500 USD ready to exchange. They said they didn't have the exact Euro amount and would accept $1496.40 USD. When we gave them the $1496.40 USD, they gave us back 1475 Euros. (MATH ERROR ALERT!) I tried to explain to them the math error and literally wrote down the equation (as seen below) on a piece of paper for the staff to see. $1496.40 USD x (1.014 Euro / $1 USD) = 1517.34 Euros. That means, we should have received 1517.34 Euros. But they continued to say that we were wrong and that you multiple USD by the exchange rate. (Yes, we did multiply our USD by the exchange rate. It's literally the equation I wrote down. This is where I felt that the staff didn't understand the math concept behind exchange rates.) They kept saying that we were to receive LESS than our USD amount. That conceptually doesn't make sense, given the current exchange rate and the equation above. No matter how you view it, you should always receive more Euros than USD in any transaction amount given the current exchange rate. How they instead got their $1475 Euros would be the following equation: $1496.40 USD x (1 Euro / $1.014 USD) = 1475 Euros. (Notice that they Divided the amount instead of Multiplied) Had they only accepted their math error or even just admitted that there was a fee, I probably would have just accepted the lesser amount. But having employees not understand basic math, while working in banking or purposely scamming customers is a problem. Summary to Customers: 1) Please check your receipts and make sure you receive the correct amount. 2) Understand the concept/math behind your transactions. Summary to the Business: 1) Show the customer how the math works out behind a transaction, if they request it. 2) Be willing to listen to customers who are cautious with their money. 3) Teach staff the concept of exchange rates, rather than having them rely solely on whatever they punch in a computer. If I had given them Euros to exchange for USD, would they have multiplied (or in their case, divided) it by the same exchange rate? If so, I would have ended up winning. read more

I sent a Yelp message to this facility inquiring about a foreign currency exchange rate, in which this location was the first to respond. I waited for more responses from similar businesses. Well, no one offered a better exchange rate, so i gave my business to them. I forgot the person's name who helped me, but she was very friendly and helpful. I even went back the following day for more exchange. I wish I had known about this currency exchange location much sooner, because I learned (in hindsight that) this place I went in Buena Park for some Korean currency was not only priciest of all places but extremely rude. These rude ppl are off of Beach Blvd and LA Mirada Blvd. I've also tried South Coast Plaza and Main Place - also pricy!! I highly recommend you do your own research and decide for yourself where to take your business to, but for me, this location will be my go-to location from now on. read more

On 2/12/25 (Wednesday), I called to find out how the exchange would be for $700.00 US to Vietnamese dong. The representative told me I would receive about 18mil dong. On 2/16/25 (Saturday), I finally made it to the establishment with $700.00 on hand. The lady at the counter told me that she would need to split the 18mil dong in two in order to process the transaction. She then told me I owed $460.00 US per transaction, so I had to pull out additional money from the ATM. I should have stopped and recognized that this was going to cost me more, but I wasn't clearly thinking and went ahead and pulled the funds. After leaving, I just didn't feel right about the transaction so I went back and asked what the exchange would be for $700.00 US for Vietnamese currency, and I was told $13mil dong. I checked with Google and my bank and other credit unions, and they are telling me that $700.00 US should be $18mil dong. I feel cheated out of $220.00 US today. The representative threw her hands up and played dumb and said she doesn't know anything and that she only processes transactions. How can one representative tell me on thing on Wednesday and another representative tell me another thing literally 4 days later, plus the exchange rate proof is clear everywhere else but THIS place. Sad, I liked coming here but I won't be coming back here again. I have my receipts, so if the GM wants to correct this, please reply to this post. read more
