Note: I've posted this same review on Google Reviews…read more American Energy was one of three companies who priced my project. I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

Overall I had a great experience with Always Affordable Plumbing. I mainly wanted someone who could get the job done with a fair and reasonable price. Based on their NAME and past reviews, I took a bet on these guys. I say I took a bet, because they still charge $60 for a consultation. If you go with them after the consultation, they won't charge you for it. But if you go w another business after their consultation, they'll charge you. I get why-- it cost time and gas for someone to come over and diagnose a problem. But if you have to pay $60 for someone to even look at the problem...you're probably going to have to go with them or you're out another $60. There's really no shopping around, so I have to make sure these guys weren't going to charge me an arm and a leg. I found another business that quoted me $225, I would've gone w them but they responded after I already had these guys at the house. Good to know I was within a similar quoted price range though. Will consider them again for future troubles.

I've been trying to cancel their annual service membership since April 27th, 2026. I was told that they had canceled it right then and there while I was on the phone. I received an email from them on May 3rd saying that my upcoming auto payment for the service that I had canceled was coming up and that it had gone from $199.00 a year to $249.00. I called to make sure that it had been canceled. Nothing happened. I responded to the email. It was kicked back to me. I emailed at the email in the invoice...three times and no reply. I called twice today. The lady that answered transferred me to the woman in charge of that. It rang a couple of times and hung up on me. I called back and was told to email them or use the other woman's voice mail, except it never goes to voicemail and I already mentioned how nobody responds to the emails. I can't tell you if their service is any good. I hired them to fix something, and they didn't fix it. We thought that they did, but they didn't. Now I'm fed up. I highly do NOT recommend this business.

Three Rivers came out and diagnosed the issue to be just that. They charged me $850 for replacing the dampening motor and $50 for replacing the condensation drain line. The dampening motor itself is pretty cheap as I have bought one in the recent past for $21.74. He explained what he was seeing in a way that was easy to understand, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were comfortable before doing any work.
