It's.a lovely moderately sized store tucked into one of the strip mall buildings, near the State Store and the Indoor Pool school. Yes, there's an indoor pool in one of the stores. It's a swim school or something. But I digress... Everything was laid out very nicely, they have many things to buy, but not so much that you're overwhelmed. We learned that there are two kinds of stock: CONSIGNMENT items have a larger yellow tag. DONATED items have a small bright orange/red tag. They tend to keep the consigned items more towards the front of the store, also. So if you see an item and you think, wow, that's kinda high...check the tag. Chances are it's a consigned item. We browsed about and found some lovely things - FDC bought a gorgeous Italian Pottery vase and I got some very cool drinking glasses that just happen to match some shot glasses that I gave Lion a couple years ago. Score! On subsequent trips I have found an awesome set of mid-century bamboo plates for picnics (LOVE THESE!) and other fun stuff too. The staff are completely lovely people, the store is clean, well lit and well organized. Proceeds benefit survivors of domestic violence - they have a shelter for victims and also fund programs. Parking is super easy (pro tip - avoid the crowds, small parking lot behind the Barnes & Noble easy in/easy out!). Heck, yeah, I'll be back. It's a great little store supporting a very needed service in our area.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tons of cool items to choose from. I saw a ton of nice men's suits from Jos A banks. I'm sure someone will pick them up asap. Plenty of housewares, furniture, shoes and clothes to choose from I'll definitely be back

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! My son purchased furniture for his new apartment. The movers…read morethat are contracted by the store put a hole in the wall trying to get the sectional into the apartment. We went back to the store. They sold a smaller piece to my son. They discounted it "to compensate for the hole" but he was still forced to pay more money for the 2nd smaller piece. BUT IT GETS WORSE...when the same movers brought the 2nd piece, they broke the entry door to the apartment. They broke a hinge and laughed about it. Unfortunately I was not there or I would not have let them leave without means to have it fixed. So, I went back to the store, less than 48 hours later, to tell Moe what happened the 2nd time and he said he's not responsible. He kept saying the movers are contractors so he's not at fault. I said the movers are YOUR CONTRACTORS! YOU HIRED THEM SO YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM!!He then tried to say that because it was more than 24 hours later, he would NOT do anything to make it right. Just horrible business practices and i wish I had read the reviews beforehand!

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM UNITED FURNITURE STYLE - IF YOU DO, BETTER SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR THE LEGAL FEES. THE QUALITY IS POOR, AND THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU IF THERE IS A DEFECT. We bought a high top dining table and chairs. First time we used it, the table finish warped after getting water on it ONCE. Manager is Moe. Owner is "Ahmad." Yelp's rules don't allow me to give full names, I contacted them for months after we bought furniture that was defective (details below). They said they couldn't help, and sent us to COASTER FINE FURNITURE who is the manufacturer of the table and chairs. They did nothing - stating IT WAS UP TO THE FURNITURE DEALER TO MAKE IT RIGHT. AND UNITED FURNITURE, MOE & AHMAD SAID IT WAS UP TO COASTER TO GUARANTEE. THERE WAS A ONE YEAR WARRANTY - and they put us off until the year was up! I USED THE TABLE ONCE AND IT WAS RUINED. Each one promised they could replace the tabletop, but said the other company had to do it. THEY DID NOTHING BUT SMILE, NOD AND BLAME THE OTHER COMPANY. We did this for months - and I got screwed -- because I'd end up spending more in legal fees than the table is worth. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. ALSO! They used to have a yelp site, or some other business review site, and the only notes on it were from the owners/managers saying how great the furniture and company is! That is also against Yelp Rules. DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES ABOUT THIS PLACE. They sell substandard furniture and then refuse to reimburse the customer! My next stop? The Better Business Bureau and any other business review site I can find. Be careful- it was a nightmare for us. And if you see good reviews? They did that themselves. The last names match the owners and managers- but I am not permitted to give that specific info out on this site.

I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

I have been a customer at this store since it was called Nana's Attic. Today I was there, looking for furniture. The selection was a bit overpriced for the quality. Suddenly, I needed to use the restroom. The woman working informed me that they did not have a public restroom and that I could go to the Dollar Tree next door. The Dollar Tree did not have a usable restroom. I returned to thrift and thrive because, quite frankly, I was literally about to pee myself. I begged to use the employee bathroom. The employees lied to my face and said that there was no bathroom in the entire store. Yeah right, if that's true, then that's a worker's rights violation, and they would not be in business. I explained that I was having an emergency and they did not care. It really stinks to be a loyal patron of a store, then to be treated so poorly in return. Particularly during a vulnerable moment. There are plenty of better thrift stores in the area with better prices AND customer bathrooms. It's a shame that a store that has such a great mission doesn't provide a great shopping experience.

The sofa was delivered with the correct fabric and looked good. However, we later realized that the chaise portion of the sofa was 3 inches narrower than specified on the order form. Instead of being 39" wide (interior) it is 36" wide. Sheffield has refused to do anything to make the order match what was specified, what they agreed to, and what we paid for. They claim that being 3" narrower is "within spec" and maybe a result of the fabric pulling it narrower. The fabric!?! Pulling a wooden frame in 3"?!? An absurb dodge to avoid their cost to rebuild the sofa as specified. Sheffield did not stand behind the contract that they signed to deliver quality furniture.
