Been going here for 15 years. It's properly a hit and miss store with rapid turnover and different inventory every week. It's the best store I've ever seen with various conditions of high quality furniture at very reasonable prices. Their furniture is clearly from rich households whose homes were furnished in the good old days of big homes and estates. I had two separate experiences one very good and one truly awful I bought two chairs and I was very happy with them. One of the employees even helped me put them in my car. Very kind I will mention the lighting in the store isn't great and it's easy to miss the condition of the furniture. Though I liked my chairs I found dirt and use marks I missed at the store Now the truly awful- I consigned a rug. It sold quickly but I didn't receive payment. I stopped in and they told me they have 30-60 days to send me check. Sixty days came and went-no check. I stopped in three more times over a period of another 6 weeks - no check sent . Finally I made a low key stink and with reluctance I finally got paid. That's when I read the reviews and found this is a common trend for the owner of this store. This was a stressful experience. You can do well at this store but as you read they don't stand by the customer should the need arise. read more

Normally a great experience, been there many times with great results. Bought a standing lamp that happened to be broken and wanted to bring it back. Regardless of policy, no store wants to sell something that's broken. The smug guy working on Saturday 12/21 was quite a jerk and did not entertain any discussion. Lost a good customer, won't return. Have driven by here multiple times but finally decided to check things out during an open house event. There were a ton of kids with the Easter Bunny visiting, which made things a little tricky to browse. However, we did not leave empty handed. There was some miscellaneous odds and ends but there were also some good looking pieces of nice furniture like you'd find some higher end consignment shops but the prices were much more reasonable. We ended up buying a couple small pieces and eyed another piece. I'm not sure who the other reviews referenced as unfriendly but the gentleman at the counter was very helpful and helped move our purchases through the back to load more easily. The only complaint was the 3% credit card surcharge, which was only listed on a counter sticker that was on a side nobody used. They really should note this more prominently so people know to find an ATM. read more

The female Staff is ignorant, indifferent and unfriendly. They do have a large selection which is unorganized chaos. Many items are unreachable as no paths are left for browsing. GETTING PAID for your consigned items is HARD WORK. If you do not ASK to be paid, you will not get a check automatically! The owner Laura is very rude. She is just as ugly on the inside as she is on the outside. I called 6 times beginning at 345pm. Delivery time frame was between 2pm and 4pm. The 7th time I called the owner finally answered the phone, put me on hold for 10 mins and finally asked me "what do you need"I asked if she was in touch with the delivery drivers ... she said no they are probably running late. I don't mind them running late but keep me informed. Is that too much to ask. After her huffing puffing and sighing then saying "Jesus f Christ , she angrily said I'll give the delivery guys a call and abruptly hung up the phone. I called again at 4:00 and she said they're almost there, and hung up again. Delivery men got here and did not have mask. This was an entirely terrible experience. I will not even give them one star( I had to give them one star in order to submit this post) If you drive past this place in Newton Square, PA, keep it moving it may look interesting...but keep driving... Of course it's schlocky but it's used furniture and tchotchkes, people!! I've gotten some great stuff and cheap cheap cheap! The staff will answer questions and take your money very politely but nothing more. All in all, I wouldn't expect anything more (again, used furniture!!) and it's usually worth a trip in. read more

I was just there on 5/18/19 and the salesperson was very indifferent to the point of being rude, as stated in a number of the reviews here. Here body language and attitude was a real turn off! She really did make it seem as though she was doing me a favor! She gave me a blank form for the items that I was consigning! No notation whatsoever on the type of items I was consigning, or the quantity. When I asked her about it, she appeared insulted. She scratched a few items out on the form. I added additional information on my own and took pictures before I left the store. The only reason I tolerated the attitude is because I am working on a short timeline trying to clear out my storage unit, and I didn't want to have to research another option. They do have a relatively nice shop, but I am beginning to feel like they are really taking advantage of their consigners, which is a sentiment that appears to be supported by several of the reviews here. The photos on their website gallery are NOT what is in the store, but, rather, stock photos of upscale room displays. I was just there and their furniture displays/rooms look nothing like what you see in their gallery photos. On the flip side, they have a lot less desirable items (though a matter of opinion) with a nugget here and there, but their prices are very good. The owner/employee(s) need to get a personality. I received no hello, no can I help you, no good bye, no smile. She just took the cash for the pic I bought and that was that. I even asked a question and didn't get an answer back. Also, when I found some chairs on Craigslist, I replied to their posting twice and received no reply. Better hope you consignment items sell because if not, when you collect any unsold items after consignment period expires, they are either missing from store or now trashed - not even suitable for donation. RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! The obnoxious woman at the counter had the "closed" sign on the door before the posted closing time on the same door, AND then argued with me about it! It's a wonder they have any customers with this immature and discourteous woman (hope she's not the owner!) representing this establishment. When I had called 20 minutes earlier perhaps she could have mentioned that she closes prior to the posted time on the door AND the time she indicates when asked. IF you can get past the lack of customer service the prices are good and among the junk, there are some nice items. The owner and the salesperson are two of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. They make the process of consigning with them extremely difficult. I decided not to have them do me a favor (they act like they are doing you a favor) by accepting to sell MY furniture and KEEP 1/2 of the profits. (They also reduce the price they determine after a 3 week period.) I sold on a community forum and kept 100% of the profit. Also, the salesperson is rude when you are browsing in the store! As a buyer, I appreciate several things about this place: - Large selection (they have SEVEN rooms) - Rapid turnover (you can go back every few weeks and see substantially new stock) - A variety of styles and time periods ('70s bedsteads next to 100-year-old roll-top desks) Over the years, I've found a number of excellent pieces, including a high-gloss cherry Queen Anne coffee table and two gorgeous 7' tall finished wooden bookshelves (the latter were $109 for the pair). They're very clear that staff does NOT help with carrying furniture to your car or loading, so bring your own help. And some of the staff are simply there as cashiers -- they don't necessarily know anything about the pieces or about furniture in general. Still, it's an excellent destination for browsing, and if you make 2-3 trips you're almost guaranteed to find something you'll be dying to take home. Even if it's not what you came in for: I just bought a Craftsman workbench ($26)! Easy to find, on West Chester Pike just a mile off of Exit 9 (Broomall/Newtown Square) of I-476, aka the Blue Route. read more

Stopped in on a whim. Saw a piece I really liked. It was not tagged with a price. I asked the woman tending the store if she know the price. Was told it had just come in and she would have to check with "the guys". I left my name and number for her to call when she found out the price. That was on Friday. Dropping off items was fairly easy since you could make an appointment (2nd star). Arranging pick up for unsold items was terrible. After having to call several times and finally emailing, I was told that I missed the contract date and the were keeping my goods. It seems pretty shady that no one responded to calls/messages until the date had passed. I would never consign there again. Use a community posting instead. read more

Don't ever used this store!!!!!!! I had items to put on consignment and they agreed to accept the items. They offer two options they can come and pick up for a fee or you can bring to the store, I elected to bring the items to the store and had to make an appointment to drop off. I was running late because one of the items was difficult in getting it out of the house. I called about 20 to 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to let them know I was running late and was told I had to make another appointment how outrageous is that (they give you a 15 minutes window)? It was not like they had a load of trucks waiting to unload when I arrived? So I suggest that you find another place to deal your items!!!!!! read more
