Super Carne Asada Fries -- The Star of the Show This dish is exactly what pig‑out food should be: bold, layered, unapologetic, and engineered for joy. - French fries - Marinated steak - Cheese - Lettuce - Guacamole - Pico de gallo - ...and what I expected to be sour cream Except it wasn't sour cream. What I tasted was mayonnaise, and they added ketchup, and the whole thing fused into a perfect mayochup situation. The pico de gallo hits the mayo‑ketchup blend and suddenly the whole plate dances -- bright, tangy, savory, creamy, crunchy, all at once. It's American comfort food wearing Mexican street‑food flair, and somehow that makes it the most Mexican thing possible. It was delicious. It was filling. It was $11.99. And I couldn't finish it. You absolutely cannot go wrong. Victoria's Chicken Quesadillas If your only experience with quesadillas is Taco Bell, Qdoba, or Chipotle, you've been lied to. Those places hand you something thin, floppy, and barely filled -- practically communion wafers with grill marks. Taco Rey Coliman does the opposite. My wife doesn't like a lot of ingredients, so she ordered hers simple: chicken and cheese. They stuffed these quesadillas. They were crisp, toasted, and structurally sound -- not soggy, not limp, not sad. This is what quesadillas are supposed to be when someone actually cares. Service & Atmosphere The owners were genuinely excited that I was reviewing the place. They're anxious to please, eager to improve, and clearly proud of what they're building. They still have some developing to do, but what they're doing right now absolutely works. Final Verdict Taco Rey Coliman is exactly the kind of hidden gem Adam Richman writes about -- the kind of place where real food lives. Ignore the unfair reviews. We came here to try out their Monday Blues, and happened on their Monday Buck-a-Shuck oysters! We found a long room with over 70 seats set up at tables for four that looked combine-able, about 20 seats at the bar and at 2-seat hightops, both rooms with a wall of windows. The band set up in the bar window, but sit where you like, we found that we could hear the band everywhere! There's also a small enclosed outdoor patio with about 30 more seats at umbrellaed tables. The Jim Atkinson band is a foursome of Boston-area musicians that has been cranking out great blues, rock, & roots since 2017. We loved them, especially enjoying the creative keyboard and a real live sax! Their music selection was amazing, more their favorite solid blues than old-standbys, so we didn't recognize every song. But that's real music :-) The $1 New England oysters were big and juicy! They started at 4pm before we got there, and they still had plenty for us after 7pm! They say the variety changes with availability. These were not overly salty. This was dinner for us, and we started with their hot-skillet "Mexican Corn Dip" with zingy pico de gallo salsa and fresh crisp corn tortilla chips. We got a "warm energy" bowl of quinoa, fresh tart cranberries, baby spinach, roasted sweet potato, and goat cheese, flavored with some scallions and garlic-butter. Huge, delicious, and very satisfying! The Fish 'n Chips was a full-foot-long full of their own Moon-Hill-beer beer-battered haddock, piping-hot fries, fresh crunchy coleslaw, with tartar sauce. Yep, Huge, delicious, and satisfying! We tried their parmesan-garlic wings, but that wasn't our favorite. They were ok, but not crispy which we expected. Came with crunchy celery and creamy bleu cheese. Of course we leaned on their in-house Moon Hill brewery for several dry IPAs, their luscious Candy Mountain blueberry sour, (which could have been colder), and a very tasty non-alcohol Blueberry (Not)-tini, a bubbly beverage crafted with "Reàl Blueberry Purée", fresh lemon juice and lemonade. This is a nice community bar, brewery, restaurant, and patio. We are already looking forward to their big Octoberfest!

I was delighted to discover that their food options have expanded with two food trucks outside the Brew Barn -- one being TimberFire. The enticing waft of wood smoke from the brick pizza oven in the back -- mounted on a cart for transportation! -- immediately piqued my interest. But it was the chalkboard sign announcing that gluten free and vegan options were available that made me jump in line (and jump for joy). That magical combo of GF crust and dairy free cheese is still not that common, and it's even harder to find ones that taste good. Since I have a gluten sensitivity and am allergic to many forms of dairy, I was intrigued to try. The Tall Man and I each ordered one of the specials, The Fungus Among Us, which features mushrooms (of course), caramelized onions, and garlic cream sauce. He got the full gluten and dairy experience (aka refused to share in my limitations), while I got mine on GF crust and vegan cheese. In lieu of the sauce and their other alternatives (I also can't eat much tomato, and their pesto has parmesan), I suggested straight up olive oil to stick it all together. I was already holding up the line with my multiple questions, but they were very friendly and were happy to answer while busily stretching dough and checking on pizzas in the oven. 20 minutes later, we picked up our pies plus one for friends. (Unlike the Brew Barn, which will text you when your food is done, TimberFire calls out names so you have to stick close by.) Verdict? Delicious, especially straight from the oven on a chilly fall day! They used a premade GF crust, but one that had a pretty good crispy texture when fresh. Vegan cheese was all melty and creamy, so I didn't miss the sauce at all. The mushrooms were fantastic and generous. The Tall Man really liked his version of the pizza, reporting the sauce to be clutch. Our friends' Fresh to Death (aka margarita) pizza was pretty good, maybe not as wow-ing but satisfying both adults and children. I was quite happy with my pizza's flavor, but wish it were larger for the price ($18 per pie), with the GF one being smaller (10"?) than the hand stretched counterparts. They're closer in size to a medium pizza elsewhere. The Tall Man easily finished his whole pie in one go, while I ate half and saved the rest for leftovers.
