No one in town wanted to touch my older Baldor treadmill motor, but Scott at Conrey told me to swing by. He gave it a thorough diagnosis while I waited, then gave me the good news - they could fix it in a day or two. A few treadmill repair shops wanted anywhere from $350 to $650 and 2 weeks to do the repair (obviously outsourced) and Conrey did it for a fraction of the cost and in 36 hours. I had two bathroom exhaust fans that were failing. These were the original fan/motor assembly from 1970 (when the house was built). The motors were manufactured by Ventrola Manufacturing (Chicago), who have long since gone out-of-business. See attached photo. Conrey replaced the motors in both assemblies and re-attached the original fan and mounting bracket. Now they work like new. I'm amazed they would have drop-in motors for these 50 year-old assemblies. If I couldn't get the motors replaced, I would be looking at paying someone to replace the entire metal box (in the attic) that houses the complete motor/fan assembly (which would cost FAR more than replacing just the motors - and then re-installing). Their store was plenty busy - with people coming in and out with all sorts of motors. But they have plenty of people at the counter, I had no wait at all. They also replaced the motors while I waited (about 25 minutes). There's a reason they have so many positive Yelp reviews. read more

After he saw my motor he recommended a less expensive motor than the initial one that would work just at well. He then wrote out for me how the old wiring corresponds to the wiring on the new motor and to the control board. Definitely saved me time. My brother bought an old house recently along with a 50-year-old bathroom fan--the squirrel cage type with the two-prong plug that isn't made anymore. On the advice of A-Boy (another fine business) I took the assembly to Conrey Electric. I walk in and the guy at the front desk sees what I'm carrying. He twists in place to grab a preassembled motor and cage fan from the wall, just hanging there ready to go. I didn't even have to ask for the item--he was just lurking there, waiting to hand it to me. Surreal. I told him that this little episode would make it to Yelp, for sure. He was pleased. Seriously. My husband went in to see if they could fix the motor of our pellet stove blower. Side note they don't make this motor anymore. They were able to tell him it was the bearings and fixed it on the spot. Took about 15min. This place saved us over $500. Thank you very much. These guys are awesome, after talking with them on the phone they encrouaged me to come in to make sure I got the right unit for my furnace. I live in Forest Grove, so I ripped the blower motor out and headed the 40 miles east to the store. Jay was great. He had the right part and after talking me through the wiring and then seeing my aprehension about what needed to be done, he asked if I could wait a couple minutes and he swapped out the motors and did the re-wiring for me. It's hard to believe in today's world there's still a business left that believes in giving knowledgeable professional honest service. I've had to use them twice now & both times I was so impressed on how they want to help you, this last time Dec 26th my air compressor in my automotive shop went out the motor just wouldn't kick on I called them & talked to Tom & sent him pictures of it he called me right back & said they did have it in stock & it was over $400. But told me to bring the old motor over & they would check it & see if it could be fixed, I took the motor over & Tom immediately took it back to a test bench & found a bad booster coil on it which they had a new one he replaced it & ran the motor through a Test & also tested other parts of it, I went there expecting to pay well over $400 & was given a bill for $25. & back in business in a couple hours. Pure excellence! I needed to replace the original kitchen exhaust motor in my house and after Googling the model number, came to the conclusion it was (of course) a very obscure item to track down. Several phone calls to various big name motor manufacturers and distributors left me with mixed results. I stumbled across Conrey after seeing they were an authorized Fanco dealer. Looking to cross-reference previous information I received, I gave them a call. Jay answered the phone and was extremely helpful and enthusiastic. The gist of the conversation was, "No big deal. Done this a thousand times. Bring it on in". The next day I stopped by and was promptly greeted by DJ. I showed him what I had and he went to the back to look for a replacement. Literally 30 seconds later he emerged with a shiny new motor. He invited me over to the work bench and began transferring over my original mount and propeller to the new motor without me even asking. Once assembled, he tested the balance of the blades and wouldn't stop tinkering until it ran as smoothly as possible. While I was there I even purchased a new compatible wall mounted motor speed controller. This whole experience lasted less than 30 minutes and proved all my previous Google research and heartache to be futile. I only wish I had stumbled upon them sooner! Took my Jennair downdraft cooktop blower motor in after it failed. They had a new motor available and went right to work changing it out. A really nice shop and people but I was very disappointed on the price. The gentleman at the counter volunteered that it would run $150, which was fine, but then the new guy wrote it up as $160 for the motor plus labor: $193. Wish they could have quoted me a more accurate price up front. Still, a good shop. read more

We had a small exhaust fan that needed to have some work done on the motor. After calling around town and being told by other electrical repair shops that "we don't do that kind of work," I found Conrey. They gave us an estimate of what it would cost to do the work and had it done in about a week. Everything looks and works great and the actual cost of the work was less than the original estimate. These guys are super sketchy. I was repairing my AC unit and bought a fan motor from them. I gave them all the information they requested to find the part for me and bought the motor and the fan that they said would be correct. It was the wrong motor. I installed it correctly and it did not even start up. I called for help and the guy I was speaking to on the phone had a tone the whole call like he was annoyed he had to talk to me. Was not friendly or helpful at all. I took the part out brought it back to return it and they told me they could not take the return for the expensive wrong motor they sold me because it had been installed. Then I asked to speak to the manager and Tom Anderson came out and told me once gain he could not accept the return because it was not in the same condition as when they sold it to me (it was). Finally he agreed to take it back but said he was charging me a 20% restocking fee because that was their policy. So they sold me the wrong part I installed it and it did not even run then I returned it and was charged a restocking fee. These guys were trying to rip me off and every person at this company treated me like I was stupid. I have never had such poor service and been treated so badly so I am writing this review to help others who read this so you do not shop here and get treated poorly and ripped off like I did. read more
