We had such a wonderful experience with Conquering Clutter! Mike and Jose were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and did a beautiful job installing our closet systems. Their attention to detail was amazing, and everything turned out even better than we imagined! Brittney was truly heaven-sent! She worked with us to design closets for both of my daughters' rooms as well as our master bedroom. She listened to what we needed and made the entire process so easy and enjoyable. It's so refreshing to work with a family-owned business that genuinely cares about its customers. From start to finish, they made us feel comfortable and completely at ease. I highly recommend Conquering Clutter! If you're ready to simplify your life and transform your space, give them a call. It truly is life-changing! read more

The scheduling was extremely poorly managed. Their arrival time kept changing throughout the day, and we were left waiting all day. They finally showed up around 3:30 PM and did not finish the work until after 8:00 PM. The quality of the work was even worse. The workmanship was very sloppy. They scratched the paint on the wall, damaged the closet area, and never repaired it properly. I called the office the following day to report both the poor scheduling and the unacceptable quality of work. No one followed up with us. The only response we received was a text message stating that if we wanted the problems fixed, they would need to send someone else--and that it would cost us extra. This is completely unacceptable. I will never recommend this business to anyone. Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. read more

Bob is a great guy and was pleasant to work with. However, his step-daughter Brittney was not a very good business partner, and there appears to be a lot of turnover, which showed in the overall experience. The installation itself was completed on schedule, but I was left to clean everything up afterward. The crew did not clean, and after I pointed out a few issues, they did come back and address them. That said, there were quality concerns, such as using gray nails on a black garage component and not installing an edger. I also added an item that their installer did not complete. When I later requested a quote for two additional closets, I was upfront and transparent that I planned to get three quotes. I was then told I would have to pay $100 for a quote because I had used a competitor for other projects in my home. I found this unreasonable and unprofessional. read more

Final thoughts: I'm really glad we hired Conquering Clutter. The installer, Joshua, arrived early and on time, which is a huge plus. I can't stand when people make you wait around with no update. Joshua made to prep the area to ensure the area was clean. The install left some dust, but it was easily wiped off. We have a "no shoes inside" policy, and asked Joshua if he could remove his shoes when stepping outside the prepped area. He respected our wishes. At the end of the work day, he made sure to clean up the work area. He was a very kind person and is really good at what he does. The cabinets are beautiful and matched the 3D rendering of the cabinets, created by Brittany, so there were no surprises. The cabinets are very spacious and we now have plenty of storage space. We're really happy with the cabinets and know that should we have any concerns, that they will be addressed by the Conquering Clutter team. I gave them a chance, and they really impressed me with the great customer service and superior quality of their cabinets. They know their craft! Definitely give them a chance! read more

Conquering Clutter is an excellent company for your built-in cabinets! We downsized from a larger home with a huge storage unit in the basement (house on the east coast) to a smaller CA house with no basement or storage room, so we decided to install built-in bookshelves and storage cabinetry with clean lines for a modern look to organize our household items. We loved how efficient designer Brittney was in taking measurements, creating a digital rendering, and communicating with the rest of her team to create the look we wanted! Brittney was easy to work with and was pleasantly responsive to all of our questions and concerns. All the other team members were polite and professional. It took a while to order and wait for the materials, but once they arrived installation was very quick!! The end result came out gorgeous and we couldn't be happier! See photos below... read more

Love our new closet. Designed exactly how we wanted it. Julio and George did a great job with the install.

Even though I had a high expectation of the outcome of the project based on the intake process (thoughtful questions, multiple designs to accommodate my needs, etc.), the final product really exceeded my expectations. The quality of the workmanship is top notch. The materials are excellent. Everything is sturdy and will stand the test of time. I will not need to replace anything associated with these cabinets in my lifetime. read more

We are in LOVE with our custom walk-in closet!! We received quotes for a custom closet from several places and Conquering Clutter gave us the best pricing and didn't try to upsell us on extras that we didn't need/want. Brittney was our designer and helped us design the walk-in closet exactly the way we wanted. She listened to our ideas and delivered. She even designed shelving for our laundry room which we plan on getting done next year. We had our consultation in October and an install date of early December but our install date got pushed up 1.5 weeks earlier due to another client's cancellation. That ended up working out perfectly because we get to use our custom closet even sooner. There's good reason why install dates are 2+ months out. Our installers Chuy, Trini and Chris were extremely respectful of our home and did such a great job. They were quick (finished in one day) but were thorough and detailed. They actually made the closet look even bigger than it did before without the shelving. We're really impressed with Conquering Clutter's service, quality and pricing. We will definitely be using Conquering Clutter again as we have several more projects that we want to do. Thank you Conquering Clutter team! read more

Custom is the way to go. Our custom designer was Brittney Stegerman and she really took time coming over and working with my wife about the vision she had for what she wanted, which was a floating wall mounted shelf. She needed a statement shelf that would accentuate a large mirror and two Terracotta statues. My wife wanted the color of the wood to match, which Brittney supplied samples so that we could pick out the one that matched best. Once that was chosen, we decided on a 6 inch shelf instead of 3 inches. And wow, did that make a difference. Brittney and her crew was able to make the adjustments and was able to install it in one day. It looks amazing and will definitely contact Brittney for future project. read more

I got a new house and have been making multiple upgrades to it. I can say that Conquering Clutter Closet has been the best experience I have had. Jesus, the designer, was prompt, detailed oriented, extremely efficient and timely. He got us the best designs posswat record time. Installation was scheduled about 4 wks after I approved the design and paid the deposit. That was early, because the timeline I got was 8-10 weeks. On install day, the installer, Chewy, showed up for on time. He was professional and complete the job in record time. He cleaned up and left my house better than he met it. The owner Kathy is simply the best. They also offered my military discount. I love my closets. read more

After interviewing 6 (yes 6, during the pandemic no less) different shutter vendors, we ultimately went with Conquering Clutter mainly for 2 reasons: 1) Their rates are extremely competitive. This may be due to the fact that their shutters are not made in the US, but the quality and aesthetics are just as great as the other ones I've seen. 2) It's a family owned business and the owners, Robert and Kathleen, are super sweet. Robert came out to give the demo - he was punctual and professional. Brownie points for wearing booties and a facemask. I was a bit concerned at first because there weren't many reviews and none of them addressed shutters - if you've read through the reviews, you can see most of them are about upgrading closets and garage storage spaces (hence...conquering clutter). But Robert reassured me they had a long running business for installing shutters back in Chicago before moving here. The only other concern I had was that responses were a bit slow and the installation date was delayed, but I'm sure they're busy due to all the demands in the renovation business during this time. OK so onto how they did. On the day of installation, it was one installer, which surprised me, but actually was for the better, again, because of the pandemic, the less people in our household, the better. The installer was friendly and quick. He installed 16 shutters by himself within a few hours. Overall I'm very happy with the look, quality and price. If you're curious what we got, we went with basswood plantation shutters - there's also a lifetime warranty on them. Pictures for reference. I would definitely hire them again once we decide to install shutters for the rest of the house. read more

We worked for some time with very patient Brittney to come up with a design for a built-in bookcase. The results were awesome. People who come over rave about the bookcase. I needed to have a new closet installed in my daughter's bedroom after I ripped the cheap metal rack out and Ikea did not have a critical piece in stock for the closet I had picked out. After searching for a few months, I finally decided it would be best to have a high quality closet installed. Jesus came out to measure and discuss my needs, and I picked my materials. After about 1 week, he sent me the quote with a 3D rendering of the design and I absolutely loved it! It exceeded my expectations. I put down the deposit and waited for the materials to come in. It was very hard to wait because I was so excited. I never thought I would be so excited over a closet! Finally, the day came! The installers arrived and they were both very friendly and professional. One was named Jose, I can't remember the other's name. It took them about 7 hours to install. When they were finished, I noticed a few scratches, which probably happened in transit (they assemble some of the pieces at their warehouse and put it all together at the customer's home). I texted Jesus and sent photos. He responded right away and scheduled Jose to come back out to fix the scratches, no questions asked. The finished product is amazing and my daughter LOVES her closet. She has the best closet in the house. I can't wait to do the rest! read more

I could not be more thrilled to leave a 5 star review for Conquering Clutter. From the initial phone call to Britt coming out to the house for an in person consultation to the design process where Britt went above and beyond to make sure all 4 designs were absolutely perfect, every part of the process was just lovely. The designs Britt drew up for us were *exactly* like the inspiration photos I gave her. She and her family are just lovely to work with. Not to mention, the crew that came out to install - Chuy and Trini and two others whose names I forgot - were prompt, professional, and absolutely obsessive about perfection. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on every single piece of built in furniture was impeccable. I will never use another company for built in cabinetry for the lifespan of this house. Not to mention, over the span of about 2 months, they boosted the value of my home by about 100k. The work is impeccable. I could not be happier with the family who owns and works together at Conquering Clutter and the phenomenal carpenters they have installing their gorgeous designs. Thank you Britt and fam. Y'all are just amazing and I could not be happier with the fantastic built ins. read more

Brittney is great to work with. She is responsive and professional. Her designs were awesome. Of the three contractors we got quotes from, she did the best job with finding our vision and interjecting her thoughts and ideals. I cannot say enough about Brittney Stegermen and Conquering Clutter. We purchased a home that needed all of the closets to be redone to be functional and to serve our needs (we don't have a ton of storage otherwise, so we needed shelving in addition to typical hanging space). Additionally, we have a lot of different clothing items to accommodate (including extra long gowns and heavy military uniforms). In consulting with closet organizers, we received bids from both Conquering Clutter and California Closets and we could not be happier that we went with Conquering Clutter for the customer service, cost, and quality. Brittney was just the best. Super responsive and available almost 24/7, so was able to respond professionally and courteously to all of our random questions, design tweaks, and concerns. We had some specific design requests, like black hardware, and she was able to accommodate all of it. The night before our install, I had a moment of panic at 10:30 that the design had not taken into account an internet fixture on our wall and the team would not be able to install a back panel. Not only did Brittney respond to my late night text, she actually looked up our design, saw that the panel was not noted, but assured me that the installation team would have everything on hand to accommodate. The installation team was truly top notch. We had four closets to completely demo and install and they were on time, efficient, and super courteous of our home. They covered everything, from the floor where they staged the closet pieces to the area where they put their tools to the walking path they took through our house. When I needed to have the height of one of the hanging spaces adjusted, at the end of a long day, they happily accommodated me. They were so friendly, worked a literal eight-hour day to get the job done with no down time, and left our home in the same condition as when they entered. This may seem like it should be industry standard, but we are currently also going through a long and painful renovation where neither our design "professional" nor any of her vendors/subcontractors have done anything to protect or care for our home while in it. To have this team care so much was such a welcome change. We definitely plan to have Brittney back out to help us with our garage and cannot recommend her and her team highly enough! read more

Can't say enough how great this project turned out -- Brittney was super responsive, coordinating and providing feedback with replies after business hours, generating 3d renderings and adjustments, and making recommendations when we didn't know which direction to go. I was nervous initially, considering how the pictures of their other projects looked so high end and seemed like an HGTV level project that would cost me a fortune; I was blown away when the quote came in at less than half of what I was expecting, easily beating out other comparable quotes. I have high standards and don't usually write reviews, however, I am very happy we had Conquering Clutter do our closets. It was a fairly large job (2 MBR walking closets, laundry room organizer and 3 other closets). My husband and I decided to invest in a custom closet for our master bedroom and since I've never had a custom closet before, I reached out to Conquering Clutter Closets and three other companies for quotes. Brittney at Conquering Clutter was our designer and she did an AMAZING job. She designed exactly what we wanted. The other companies we met with had worse designs AND were more expensive. Brittney listened to what we wanted (shoe storage!, shelving, and drawers without losing hanging space) and she made it happen. I just hung our clothes back up and somehow after adding a ton of shelves, we still have more than enough hanging room. The installation was completed in one day and was very well done. They checked-in with me throughout the building process and remained extremely professional the whole time. In addition, I appreciate their eye for details and cleaning throughout the whole installation process. They really show the type of care & pride in their work that make this company top notch. They were kind of enough to even announce whenever they were going to drill/vacuum as to warn my kids since it was loud. That's going above & beyond customer service!
