I opened an account originally in Austin TX. I ended up at conns in San Marcos and expected quality furniture and outstanding customer service/support. Well when I was purchasing almost 6,000.00 worth of furniture that is what I got from Edward. That was in July 2018. Well recently I discovered a manufacturing defect with a piece of the furniture. I contacted service first. I quickly got the brush off, as if I didn't purchase the warranty. Oh that statement Edward my sales person made about how he would personally take care of me LIES! I personally called him on5/18/19. I told him what was happening.with my furniture. He tells me that he will take care of it and call me back. He never called. I waited until 6/3/19. I finally called the service department back. They tell me I was approved for a replacement. Mind you Edward never called back. They said I had to call the store to make arrangements. I called the store 6/3/19, I'm told that Edward is on vacation. Mondo gets on the phone, says he will take care of it and this is the first he has heard about my issue. Now I was in the store making a payment on 6/2/19, and the cashier is the one that gave me a different number to call.
I finally get a 1/2 day off to be at home for the delivery on6/7/19. At 3:01pm 6/7/19, I get a call that the delivery is in route. I track it and the delivery time is 3:15 to 3:55pm. I am standing outside because I feel that they would be lost, but thought I would get a call. 3:53pm, I'm still outside. I check the status again, it shows unable to complete.
Now the fun part begins. At this point I am frustrated. I call the store and ask for a manager. I had the unfortunate experience to speak with Judy. Judy is trying to tell me to calm down but Judy doesn't pay for my bill, so I tell Judy that perhaps I should call corporate to further discuss my issue. Judy told me to go ahead because she was calling corporate too? Now I'm the customer who pays, Judy is an employee, is she calling corporate on customers? Now I'm really confused. So then Edward my salesman jumps on the phone. He says his famous line, " Let me look into this and call you back". So then I am really fuming and I told him, "Well Judy told me to call corporate." What he said next was,"So." I was blown away. So I make calls and spoke to Susie in corporate. After speaking to her she repeatedly told me how she couldn't help me. I requested a supervisor. The young man Joel listens for two minutes and disconnects my call. Called back to corporate and got Kim. Kim hears me out, then says,"I'm going to get someone on the line and then I'll bring you on. Well she drops me into an infinite hold state.
So I still have not gotten a call from Edward! About an hour goes by and Edward sends me a copy of my contact that shows I purchased the warranty. Well I knew that but where is the resolution for exchanging the chair that is damaged? I call the store back to gain understanding as to what this means. I ask for Edward, then I am placed on hold for over 15 minutes no exaggeration! Finally I hang up and call back. Edward gets in the phone and hits me with his known lie, " Let me some calls, I'll call you back." Well no call that day. Saturday I get a random text that delivery is scheduled for Sunday. Now I have already wasted over 3 weeks of my time.
I warn anyone that is shopping for furniture to beware. As a customer they have shown me that my money is nothing. The sales team must own stock in the company because customer service is not their concern. They are most helpful at the beginning of the sale. Everything after that will be lies, frustration, and no one takes ownership. I am already stuck in this contract but soon I will be done paying. If I need an appliance or furniture I can go elsewhere. I just hope that they do not get anyone else like they did me. Why not give Ashley Furniture a chance. That's my next choice! I certainly hope not to ever hear anymore, "I don't care so what", kind of attitudes! read more
