I am not super impressed at this outlet. I haven't been to any others for the Pottery Barn, so I don't know if all of them are like this. This outlet seems more like a resale/damaged goods location. And despite the quality of everything the prices are still pretty high. It's huge, much bigger than we were expecting from the outside. There is a ton to peruse and the variety of the selection is solid, but sheesh nothing really stood out to me. I almost purchased a big wicker basket, but had no trouble talking myself out of it. Staff all seemed nice as they put out more inventory, which felt like was probably the bulk of their job throughout the day there really is so much stuff. The store is very expansive with lots of inventory, and items are neatly categorized and displayed for the most part. Some areas, such as the lighting area, is full of shelved boxes, which makes it difficult to browse. This is a combined Pottery Barn/Williams-Sonoma Outlet store. I was hoping to get ideas for a future home and maybe think about saving money here. Ideas, yes. Save money? No. Are there percent off markers? Yes, everywhere. But it's one of those deals where you look at item-after-item and think, "How much would I expect to pay at retail?" only to look at the price tag and suffer sticker shock. Wooden pepper mills for $100? Barstools for $1100? Sure, the discount is applied to that price, but 30-40-50-60% off way too much is still too way much. And "ALL SALES FINAL" appears everywhere. It's basically a retail Williams Sonoma or Pottery Barn store in an outlet mall, that forgot the outlet mall prices. read more

Everything was good till pick up, lady that brings your stuff to the back to be loaded up let me in the back door to use the restroom while they loaded my chair I bought, on the way back out to get to my truck she was very rude and told me I couldn't exit that door and had to walk all the way around the building just to get back to my truck! Upon me walking around she insisted on being very rude to my wife for no reason! For this we will never shop here again! This would be a 1 star review, but the large selection gets this store an extra star... just be prepared to sift through a good amount of damaged goods, many of which are borderline dumpster material. The staff here is generally awful. There was a gentleman that was very helpful and polite, but the women here are rude, lazy, and not very helpful. Be prepared for some attitude coming your way... unfortunately that's the only thing coming your way, because the service is non-existent, especially from the overweight associates that can't be bothered to move from behind the counter to assist a customer. It was obvious this place has an issue that starts at management and trickles down, as the associates and manager have the same attitude problems. I won't bore you with the details, just know you will not proactively get help, when you ask for assistance or info you will get attitude, and when you finally get help they are incredibly slow to get anything done. Don't waste your time here. There are plenty of stores with much more respectable and less ghetto employees. read more

I have a soft spot for this store. I love Williams Sonoma, which is a part of the Pottery Barn portfolio. The store is arranged very well, clean, and has fantastic merchandise at a great discount. I bought many of my all-clad copper-core line frying pans here and high-end food items (e.g., jacobsen salt). I am always intrigued by their house-brand items, which are marked up so high that I choke every time I buy them. WS sources amazing food items from the world. They slap the Williams sonoma label and market them as their own..for a hefty price and for the love of God I have little success in finding who the real manufacturers are. Their very berry pancake and waffle mix is out of this world, but their sticker price is 25$ (outlet was 15 which is a bargain). Nothing that I have tried (tried 4 brands from whole foods, 4 brands from central market, 4-6 brands from world market and TJ Maxx) comes anywhere close to what these guys sell. This is an example but is generally true when it comes to food items sold at WS. They are amazing. You have no idea where they got it from and they mark up 2-3X the price of what these brands sell at and you have no choice but to buy them. At least I can pick up items in the store at 30-40% discount during their frequent sales. Overall, the store has a huge selection beyond food including electrics, kitchenware, and furniture. If you did hard enough in the clearance section, you can oftentimes encounter great bargains upwards of 80% off. read more

Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn under the same roof! This place has a bunch of glassware at what looked to be at good prices. They also offer furniture and decorations for the home! This place is clean, and huge. If you need to supplement your kitchen accessories, this seems to be a good place to get it. They were selling food stuff at deep discounts, but everything still seemed a bit high priced. Even in the clearance bin, things were either heavily shop worn or damaged, or missing something critical, but they were still selling the stuff at high markups. I didn't find anything I had to get. They also offer furniture in the Pottery Barn section, which was interesting. They had a wide variety of stuff from comfy to more formal. The place was clean, and the staff was courteous and friendly. The store is in the Venetian side of the outlet stores. It's nice, clean and parking is easy! read more

I find myself pretty lucky to live somewhat near this outlet. My entire house has pretty much been furnished by this place for a fraction of the original PB price. It's slightly overwhelming walking in so make sure you give yourself some time to browse through for a while before making any decisions. I like to take pictures of the rooms in my house so that when I see something I love, I'll know if it'll work. There aren't very many people to ask for help but half of the time once you find someone they're pretty friendly. The back and left side area are kinda chaotic and cramped so those are the areas that I go to only when I am focused. Most things are in plain white boxes or in huge bins that you can dig through. Everything else is pretty well organized. If you see something you want, grab the tag and go pay for it. It won't be there for long. Especially if it has minimal scratches. I'm sure you'll fall in love with this place just as I have! read more

Great outlet store, huge and you can spend a good hour or so just checking out the housewares and kitchen items. I have visited twice on two separate trips to visit family here, and both times came away with some nice little house trinkets (WS soaps, kitchen towels, cheese board etc) for half off basically. I may even go back to check out baskets. If you like nice kitchen ware, the prices and selection are great. Furniture wise, it seemed to be the classy version of the IKEA scratch and dent section. Hit or miss, mostly miss. But then again my house is already furnished so I wasn't looking for that stuff. Like others have said, if you go here with an open mind and are aware of the regular store price range, you're sure to come out with some nice pieces, given the immense size of the store and quality brands therein! read more

Do you love paying retail prices for busted furniture? If so, then come to the Pottery Barn Outlet store. Now you might be thinking, "haters gotta hate," but believe me that's not the case. With few exceptions, the Pottery Barn outlet is where you can find damaged and rejected Pottery Barn goods for UP TO*** 50% off! "Why the triple asterisk?", you ask? It's because the "up-to" is beyond misleading. There's probably the start of a federal consumer action in their pricing. "Up to*** 50% off" may seem like a discount until you realize that with a good sale, you can actually do better, getting new, un-damaged goods from the retail store or website. Now I'm not going to say that there are no deals to be had. Outdoor furniture, bedding, and rugs are typically marked down quite a bit but the rest of the namesake furniture itself is ridiculous because they're based on the retail prices of the furniture without regards to how crazily damaged they are. On our last walk through the store I was embarrassed for them, wondering who is going to buy these busted up pieces. Were they heavily marked down? NOPE! Maybe all the good stuff gets sold early but why even try to sell some of these items. The worst insult of my trust is they send out mailers with messages like "Let us do the shopping for you!" as if you can join a priority queue but in reality, an employee confessed that while they may write your name down -- you have zero chance of getting what you want. If there was truth in advertising, they'd call this a Pottery Barn x Salvation Army collab which to be honest is unfair to Salvation Army. Also, yes. I just can't anymore. Several months ago we pulled a tag from a lamp and went to purchase it (and did) only to find that another customer walked out with it. We were refunded, but frustrated. Tonight we chose a closet dresser, some kitchen items, and three bar stools. I went to pay and noticed one of the barstools had a different price (by about $100). I told the cashier and she said the manager would meet us by the stools to discuss. 10 minutes later (literally), she came over. Didn't say hello, didn't introduce herself, but greeted us with a firm "what do you need?" I explained two of the stools were lower priced than a third. She looked at the stools and said, 'one is dirty and that's why it was marked down" - I replied saying the other two look identical and I plan to buy all three tonight. She (maybe named Karen, I'm not sure) went off saying at PB there are RULES we have to follow and she can't just price adjust. I told her exact items with different prices was unethical. She explained her job was to follow rules and I let her know her job was to move product. I walked away, she followed us and continued her rant. I turned over all the tags we planned to purchase tonight (appx. $2500) and walked out. No more PB Outlet....this is truly the last time I shop with you. And frankly, your store 'manager' shouldn't be customer-facing. She's embarrassing. read more

This review is for the Williams Sonoma Outlet store which is part of this store. Love this place and I never even stepped a foot in their door. I saved $180 shopping compared to a regular WS by shopping here over the phone. I received such great service from Manager Elizabeth. My receipt and shipping/tracking info was sent to me via email and shopping was a breeze. Who says you have to live near a WS Outlet store to take advantage of their great deals? They ship for a nominal charge based on weight and item price, it may just save you some $$$. So there is a Williams Sonoma roasting pan which retails for $250 which I absolutely love, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the $$ on it unless I could purchase it on sale. I took my chance and called the outlet store and low and behold they had one tucked away in their back room for $60 after the January weekend sale of an additional 20% discount was applied!!!. As described over the phone it had a few scratches on the bottom of the pan due to it being a display model, and it was out of the box, but other than that it was in perfect condition and those two things did not bother me, nor would they effect the function of the pan, so I ended up buying it and I am SO happy with my purchase! The pan is in even better condition than I imagined. I ended up paying $11 for shipping which was a great deal considering the size and weight of the pan. The downside to shopping here is there are no returns to regular WS stores, returns can only be made to outlet stores. So, if you have an outlet store near you great, if not you would have to ship it back at your cost if you are unhappy with your purchase. read more

This is the LARGEST, MOST ENCOMPASSING Pottery Barn / Williams Sonoma, West Elm, PB Teen outlet in the country. No joke. And when you walk in, you'll feel completely overwhelmed. Once you get your bearings and start to focus on where everything's located and what the discount deals are for the day, you'll find some excellent stuff for cheap. Like any outlet store, there's plenty of product that isn't discounted much off the retail price, but the gems in this place are honest-to-god giveaways. The West Elm furniture is a gem, as is the sectional couches in the main PB area. TONS of FURNITURE. Jonathan in furniture is VERY helpful, and the guys in the back are great about assisting with loading big pieces into your truck, van, car, 18-wheeler...whatever you brought to haul back the deals you scored. Pottery Barn for your Inner Cheapo. This is a huge warehouse of a store located at the San Marcos outlet malls. Like many have said, not everything is really a deal here. So know the product and the original price, be flexible, be prepared to search high and low, and get over the scratches and dents. My first visit here, my GF and I had a very specific plan: Find a simple, small desk that we were planning on refinishing. There quite a few varieties to choose from, and because PB also has Teen based furniture, various places in the store you could find them. There's even a West Elm corner. We finally found a nice one near the "kids" section. It had healthy scratches on the edges of the top, but these hide quite well under "chalk" paint. In addition to West Elm, there's also a Williams-Sonoma area which is quite large. It's more of a overstock than scratch and dent. Prices still seem high, but there are plenty of little deals to be had by looking around. If you're looking for post "holiday season" and the "no longer trendy" bargains, this is where you'll find it. There's a plate with a caricature of a bluebird with a shirt and tie that "spoke to me". As has been said by other Yelpers: No Returns, Shop Early, and Parking Sucks. My Tip: If it's convenient, window shop at PB or W&S retail, and then check pricing at the outlet. This store can be dangerous in a good way. You have to approach it as a huge garage sell. Some of the things look kind of junky but there are hidden gems in this store that make it all worth it. For example I was looking for a new leather couch, I had my eye on the turner couch. In store and on line the couch is 3100.00. I called up pottery barn and asked if they had any, and they did. It was 2099 and then 50% off of that. Next thing I know I am loading up a couch. This couch is perfect condition and one of their top sellers. I also spotted a round storage ottoman, it said on the ticket extra 20% off as well as the store promotion that day for 60% off. Long story short the ottoman would have come out to about 140.00. I mean mind blown. Pottery barn is know for quality and while a lot of the store looks run down( furniture section) you can find some good stuff and good deals. Now on a side note, it was hot in there and it was hard to find a person quickly who worked there. read more

It took 5 people to tell me that they couldn't find a price tag so guess we will charge you the closest thing we can find to it online which was about $300 more than what any sane person would pay. It also had no box, parts missing and is sitting at an outlet where retired/returned things go to die, so why not make an executive decision to sell to a customer, and earn their patronage. Laziest staff I've ever witnessed. And it wasted 45 minutes of time...walked away empty handed. read more

I LOVE this place! If you are willing to invest a little money you can come out with some beautiful furniture. We went in looking for some furniture and ended up purchasing a grand sofa, love seat, oversized chair and ottoman. We had to get all of them reupholstered but it was well worth it. It was cheaper than buying it at the regular store. I also purchased a beautiful seashell mirror for a fraction of the price along with accent pieces. The staff was so helpful. Here's the thing about this store: this is the return warehouse for the entire western and southwestern US (the only other Pottery Barn return warehouse is in NY). They can't put returns back out on the regular store floor, so they go here. So...the inventory will totally change based on what's been returned, etc. People comparing inventory to what it used to have...simply compares what's been returned recently to what was returned whenever. They have tons of furniture, lamps, bedding, bath products, children's furniture, and more that doesn't fit into these categories. They also have an enormous selection of dishes, glasses, platters, pots and pans (including all clad!) that are not returns. If you're flexible ( ie not coming with a specific item in mind), patient, and don't mind that the item you get might be a little dinged, you'll be impressed. Also, yes, the staff is not regular pottery barn staff. They don't wear fancy aprons and customer service is not paramount here. Find what you want, take the tag up front, and get it. However, if you can get the attention of staff, haggling is very easy to do here. Complain about a ding or two and you'll get an extra 25% off or whatnot... read more

Here's a little secret: when you need to to do inventory for your store, don't go about it by closing down your store for an entire day. Do that shit at night when there aren't any customers coming up and trying to open the doors because your hours online say that you're supposed to be open for business. What a complete fucking waste of time to drive down to San Marcos specifically for this store, only to find a note taped to the door saying they are closed all day for inventory. Every other store on earth does their inventory at night so they don't lose business during the day. I was ready to spend money but now I'm just pissed off at the incompetence of management. read more

Great selection of housewares, decor, furniture, kitchen gadgets and accessories, spices and mixes, cooking equipment, and clearance items. The store is massive but the staff are unfriendly. While we were at the register paying for our items, I noticed a wallet sitting on the counter. I told the cashier and she said, "oh that's too bad, the guy just left." She made no effort to run outside or send a cashier who was standing beside her chitchatting outside to try to return it. So I went outside to try to see if I could find the guy but it was too late. I found that to be extremely rude. My tip of the day: Don't forget your wallet here, otherwise the staff will watch as you leave and let you figure out where you left it. Other than that, they have a standing 30% off on OXO containers and other little kitchen accessories. We found some olive wood spatulas and spoons for 30% off which I was happy about. Really great quality, so if you've been hunting for olive wood spatulas, get them here. I love mine. This store used to be great about 10 years ago when it was smaller and prices used to be so much better. Furniture: They used to have an awesome selection of furniture without any chips or issues and the prices used to be amazing. I recall purchasing Valenica Bedside Tables in perfect condition for $99 each and another bigger side table also for $99. Today I was searching for similar bedside tables and the selection was very little and were around $150-$180 and they all had imperfections that would need to be sanded down and stained which is not worth the effort. Pots and Pans: The prices here are no longer worth it. Calphalon Kitchen Outlet is in the same mall and you can go to premiumoutlet.com and print out 20% off coups from there. If you are looking for pots and pans, I highly recommend going there instead. I wish this store went back to a smaller format.
