This company is horrible from the regular full price store to the clearance center. Twice I have made purchases with them and twice they have botched my delivery and install. Haven't been inside a Conn's store in years. Came here with my daughter to help her purchase a dryer. She was referred here by a friend because Conn's have a warehouse with scratch and dent, and returned appliances, which are cheaper than buying them new. Well we found a very nice dryer that was only about 30 days old. We were told that it was returned by a customer. Regular price was $899 and my daughter bought it for $400, which we thought was a good price. She paid cash, a couple of Conn's employees loaded the washer in my SUV, and we were good to go. Here's what I don't like about Conn's. The salesman asked my daughter if she wanted to finance the dryer. She didn't but she asked him what the interest rate was. Let me just say that their interest rate is way too damn high. Good thing she had cash. The second thing she was told was to go online and complete the form for the one year warranty. When she got home, she did just that. What the salesman neglected to mention was that it cost $50 for it. These are things people need to know. Thoroughly knowing the ins and outs of the product you are selling is important, especially when hundreds or thousands of dollars are at stake. Those were a couple of things that got under my skin. Other than that, the salesman was polite and professional. We got what we came for, and my daughter has been happy with her purchase. Would we go back? I believe so, but only for an appliance. It is a nightmare dealing with them for a return, I was delivered a damaged freezer and since September 26th 2019 I have been trying to get them to pick it up everyone I talk to have been giving me the run around, they have a return policy and they are not honoring it at this point I am willing to pay them to come get their property. Oh they have this manager in their Texas City office Docia/Dorsia very condescending and unapologetically treated me like I am less than nothing, God help her because one day she will meet the wrong person and heaven help!!! All I can say is STAY AWAY!! Appliances are sub-par at best, factory refurbished and sold as new, when something breaks (and it will) they will not standby their product. They will offer you a finance free payment plan and then their system will skip several payments from their "automated" system in order for you to miss the payoff date in order to then charge you the finance charge. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in how your insurance department is handling my account. I was told by the store manager and customer service rep that upon submitting the required documents I could expect my case to be complete within 10 days. Well that was 30 days ago and I'm still waiting for this issue to be resolved. When I contacted the insurance dept @ 866-892-8719 I was given an excuse that there system is being upgraded and they have no idea when it was going to be complete. this excuse alone will keep me from doing business with you in the future and recommending your company to family and friends. read more

My top three things that I hate to shop for: shoes, cars, and appliances! Shoes because I have duck feet (wide in the front, narrow in the back)...with cars and appliances, you always have to watch your back and make sure the salesman is not picking your pocket for extra dough. My visit to this location to help my elderly Aunt find a refrigerator to keep her medicinal needs cool was quite interesting- and not in a good way! First off, my Aunt had been without a refrigerator for almost a week when I found out. Immediately made some contacts to get her old fridge checked, which was costly, so the next day, I scheduled a pick up to take her around to shop. There are quite a few options on the North side, but she only had the means to pay with credit through Conns....I'm more about buying certain brands and getting the best deal, so I took her to Conns in Humble to ensure she was getting just that- a solid product for the price it was worth. She found what she wanted, but after speaking to a salesman and asking him what her exact APR was on her credit card and not really getting an answer, I felt she needed to see more options. She decided that she wanted to go to the other Conns off 45...I obliged, but my intent was to go to the Home Depot and or Lowe's that's on the way (didn't pay attention to exit and bypassed). This Conns is actually a clearance center now and has scratch and dent products that they sell. Sometimes you can get a really nice appliance for dirt cheap with very small dings. Since the size of the refrigerator wouldn't qualify my Aunt for the no interest deal, buying a scratch and dent product would be a better option for her using her Conns credit, but my question about her card's APR got the run around again. When I finally got the salesman to give me my Aunts APR, he also told me that the Conns store credit includes extra fees that most consumers have no clue that they're paying. He suggested that another bank be used to give her credit to use for her purchase that did not include the fees and had a lower APR. When I asked why they would offer such a credit card to an elderly individual, he stated that they do that all the time and leave it to the stores to communicate such information. I really wanted to leave the store then, but my Aunt needed a refrigerator and this was her only means to get one....although I decided to extend my credit to buy the appliance for my aunt (which was considered cash so I was given a bigger discount ) and could have gone anywhere we wanted to get her a refrigerator, the bottom line was that the places with the better credit offers were backed up for delivery. Going with this clearance center was the best option to get my Aunt a replacement by Friday, which at the time was two days after purchasing for us. Friday morning, the delivery came to save my Aunts day, but turns out, the thing was a dud. Wouldn't come on at all! Soon as I found out and my Aunt stated that the store had not resolved the issue several hours later, I drove back the store to either 1) get my money back, or 2) see the replacement product and set a delivery time. I had already called my credit card company to inform them of the situation and flag my account for any purchases, so I was ready to dispute the charges if the merchant didn't work with me, however my original salesman apologized for the inconvenience, gave me a discount back for my inconvenience, and step up delivery for Sunday. Bad news is, they waited until dark (8:40 pm to be exact) to do a delivery. This had my Aunt up all day past her bedtime worried about 1) getting a refrigerator that day, and 2) getting one that worked. Luckily both occurred, but it was a hassle and a pain plus extra gas money to keep tabs on them doing right by my Aunt. Despite me telling them that the refrigerator was needed for medical reasons, they still delivered it last and late. If it hadn't been a dire emergency, I wouldn't have dealt with this place at all. And after this experience, I wouldn't even deal with them in an emergency. read more

So I was referred to this Conns Oulet because I was in the market for a washer and dryer, when I went in it was your typical Conns... salesmen just trying to make a sale. I had the salesman Chris and I ended up purchasing a LG washer and dryer and a recliner chair for $1,300, completed everything and paid cash. My brother went to pick up my items 2 days later due to Easter when he noticed the dryer didn't have a cord, he called me and I had no clue about why because I was asked by Chris what type and gave him the information. My brother explained to the manager that the dryer needed a cord when the manager Christian told him it was going to be an additional $30 for the cord. Long story short the salesman Chis lied about explaining that I would have to purchase a cord,they got rude so I told him keep the washer and dryer and give me a refund.. I've never seen customer service like this, then Chris said that this an Outlet store I don't have to have customer service because this sales itself. I guess because they in the hood they have that mentality of how they can treat you.. I took my money and spent it in Pearland where I live and got a better deal without all the extra drama. I had been looking everywhere for a Conn's Clearance center because years ago when I bought my first house, I went to Conn's Clearance Center and they were fabulous. It just so happened that I drove by and noticed this Conn's turned into a Clearance Center. On our first visit we worked with a sales person named "Chris Shaver", he by far exceeded my expectations in a salesperson. I'm not easy to please, and he really was amazing. I would've purchased my washer and dryer on our first visit, but Chris advised us that they only do deliveries for 1-3 days out. I was closing a week later so I had to wait. My sister bought 2 couches that day from Chris and the delivery and customer service side of everything was 5 star! We came back twice more before we finally found what we were looking for, but we got a great deal. My washer and dryer's were regular price $900 each and I got them for $560ish each. The day before delivery they have an automated machine that calls to confirm that you are having a delivery the next day and wants to verify the address. That evening, I get a 2nd call confirming the delivery time for the next day. This morning I got a call letting me know they'd arrive in about 10-15 min. Then after delivery I got a followup call to make sure everything was working properly and that we were satisfied with the delivery. Conn's Clearance Center is the best and my sales guy was amazing! If you're ever in the market for new appliances or furniture, don't hesitate to give Chris a call! read more

. I was able to qualify for a new Dell Computer. There was no interest on the purchase beyond two years. The price tag on the computer was about $100 more than if I were to purchase the computer elsewhere without finance. So in a sense the finance is built in and could potentially become even more if I do not pay it off just a bit more quickly. I was really happy with my sales person. Unfortunately; the Dell 13" 70000 is having touch screeen issues; with "ghost or phantom touches". If you go to Dell's website or even Amazon you will see I am not the only one with this issue. Just google Dell Inspiron 13 7000, "ghost touch" and you will see an ongiong thread. This of course was not the failure of Conn's. So I merrilly went into the store today to describe my dilemma. There was very little in terms of compassion toward my situation. I could either return the item for a 15% restocking fee; or have it sent to their service with no gaurantee from that point that it would be reparied or that I might recieve a refund. I visually demonstrated the problem to the manager of the store who declined seeing what I could demonstrate three times. At that point I lost trust in the manager. If I can show you something and you refuse to see it, that is dishonest. I would rather have heard; "I do see what you are speaking about but I am not a qualified technician and can not give a qualified opinion. And because we do not have technicians here, regretfully, I will have to send this off, I am sorry for the inconveinance, these things do happen.". That would have been preferrable than saying "I can not see what is right in front of me.". A third person, the customer service agent, began interrupting the process with her input, further making the customer feel "ganged up on". I have been in retail sales for many years, and when a customer is upset, I do not allow a third party to come in for just that reason. The customer will feel ganged up on. My job as a customer service person is to comfort, listen, and help as far as the rules allow me to and if not that then to get my supervisor or boss, to see if there is anything further we could do. There wasn't even the attempt to generate the apperance of concession. I have had to do this in customer service before as well. Knowing full well that I will never be able to surpass a policy, I at least give the appearance of bending. Sometimes this involves, just nodding my head in agreement, reflecting what the customer says to show I understand, offering to call when news of the situation arises, anything to make a client feel as if I care, despite not being able to meet their wishes. I was simply stonewalled and I am lead to believe that the fine art of customer service has been depeleted from this generation. I do not trust that I will see a refund, or even a nod of understanding. I have been lead to believe that customer service does not exist in this store, and that the employees genuinely do not care. This situation is not yet resolved, but I will report on it as more becomes known to me. The person who was my sales person offered to have me pay the restocking fee if I did not trust the situation. Earlier the manager gave every indication that at the end of the service inspection if I were to chose to return it I could do so with the restock fee. However after my sales person and I talked, and he went to reconfirm with the manager I would be able to return the item to stock, the manager then said it would not be possible. This manager, Ken, twice gave testimony to his capability of honesty. Once when he declined to ackowledge what I demonstrated three times and could demonstrate yet again if asked. And the second time when he suddenly shifted about my being able to provide a restock fee to return to the shelf, this item. He was in my opinion now taking this personal. read more

please do not purchase anything from this store. i purchase a dishwasher and from conn's which was deflective had it service twice. they could not fix it. ask me to come in and replace it for credit of what i had paid in. my balance on the acct was only $144.00. i select a different brand not wanting to chance the old brand. the different in price was $81.00. the saleman told me that they would be closing the old acct and i had to open a new acct if i want to purchase a warranty for the replacement dishwasher and put the $81.00 on it. now i am stuck with two acct total over $400. for a $81.00 different. i ask if i could just pay the different in cash and not open a new acct and continue to pay the balance of $144.00. they said it could not be done like that. they would not own up to their error. money hungry beasts. i am paying for a warranty on the old dishwasher that they pickup and replace. what am i paying for. read more

i purchased a washer on may 23rd 2018 conns located at 9700 north fwy houston texas. this is the worst place to buy an appliance. the washer didn't worked. i went to the store 5 days after the purchase because i didn't have power in my house due to repairs spoke to the manager a very rude man. he told me that because i didn't returned that piece of garbage next day i was out of anything to fix the problem. he gave me the service phone number. i called and scheduled an appointment for the repair. this was a nightmare. the technicians crew they have for repairs doesn't anything about repairs. they went to my house approximately 12 times and could't fixed the washer. finally they gave up about the repair and sent me to sansung the washers factory. i called the service department to request a service paper work because the factory asked me for and nobody is able to help me. do your self favor if you are going to buy an appliance go to home depot they have an excellent return policy and stay away from conns. read more
