My first review of Rattan Cleaners was long overdue and after they had been so customer oriented of the last several years. Things have changed. I used to take my clothes (shirts, pants, and occasionally a suit) in every two weeks at 7 am on Friday morning and they were ready by 4 pm that afternoon. I started going to work earlier and decided that Thursday afternoon would be easier but it meant combing home and changing and gettin the clothes to them before close of business. One day I had my clothes to them around 5 and was told that they had to be there by 3 pm to get them the next day. OK, I hadn't been told that before, but would make the effort to get them to them by then. So, I started dropping my clothes off at noon when heading back to work after lunch. Today, I go in to drop my clothes off at noon and was told that they won't be ready until Friday. I asked why since I had been told that 3 pm was the cut-off for next day service. I was told that they might be but it would be unlikely that they would be ready. So, while I had inconveniences in the past that I could handle, this is the final issue. After I get these back, Friday it seems, I'll be finding another cleaners. Hopefully there are others close by me that offer one day or same day service and will work to make me their loyal customer.

They have a vending machine where you are able to buy laundry soap as well as a machine where you can get quarters. Bring quarters as machines use that currency. I used Tide thinking that with such a big name, i would have nothing to worry about. We asked if…read morethey could clean smoke damage from a recent fire, and they said yes. They returned almost every single item damaged or completely ruined. Without reaching out to me, or informing me beforehand, they wet washed all of our dry-clean only items, and seems they washed them together. Who wet washes a wedding dress? A satin dress? In the same washer? (We found sequins from the wedding snagged in the satin.) They completely ruined 20 or so garments. Management at the Amarillo tide location was extremely rude and combative over the situation, even after admitting that we should have been told how they were planning on washing our items. The general manager out of Lubbock admitted to me that our garments were handled incorrectly, proper procedures were not followed, and we should have been, at the very leaset, asked if we wanted our things wet washed( which the amarillo manager claimed is the ONLY way to do smoke remediation, which is absolutely not true). Of course, if we had known what they planned to do, we would have said no and taken our business somewhere they know what they're doing. I think is it entirety reasonable, that when you drop off DRY CLEAN ONLY garments to a DRY CLEANERS, that your items are to be DRY CLEANED! They would not make it right. We asked for compensation. They DESTROYED OVER $3000 worth of clothing, including many vintage peices and MY WIFE'S WEDDING DRESS that she was planning to pass down! They gave us a pittance; a PARTIAL refund for the "cleaning" cost. The general manager from Lubbock became unreachable, I suspect a case of: "if I ignore it, it will go away". I emplore you to not trust Tide cleaners with your valuable or sentimental items. 0/10 for care, 0/10 for communication, 0/10 for customer satisfaction. Working with Tide was almost worse than the fire that lead us to their services.
