This was my first visit--and definitely my last. I came to wash my large blankets, and it took nearly 10 minutes just to get a washer started because the card readers weren't working properly on any of the machines I tried (and there weren't many clean ones to choose from). The same issues occurred with the dryers. I was understandably frustrated and mentioned to my daughter that the machines seemed "jinky." When my daughter's comforter came out still wet after a full wash cycle, we asked the attendant for help, but she never assisted us. (Said we didn't put it on the correct cycle) and after about 10 minutes, the attendant came over, pulled the blanket out mid-cycle, and scolded us--saying we were going to break the dryer. She then placed our blanket in a basket and proceeded to speak loudly about my attitude and comments. For the record, I never disrespected her--I was frustrated, yes, but I simply expressed my concerns about faulty machines. Instead of helping, she chose to make rude, unnecessary comments, including remarks about my payment card. Her behavior was loud, unprofessional, and disrespectful to both me and my daughter. I paid to rewash my comforter it was way to much confrontation over a machine she clearly didn't own. To make matters worse, the facility itself was not clean. Many washers smelled of mildew or contained pet hair, and the floors were dirty. If you're looking for a better experience, I strongly recommend the location on Bell or Western--it's much cleaner, and the staff there are far more helpful and professional. read more

I would not even give her one the attendant on Patterson Street in Amarillo told me she was the manager. If she wouldn't have ignored me, when I was looking around for an attendant I would not have looked in the back room and I called out. she came and yelled do not go back there. I said ok. She yelled I'm the manager to not go back there. I told her yes ma'am she said what I wanted to hear, and she went on to the back. I said is there someone who could help me she yelled at me again I am the manager and I told you not to come back here and I said well I told you yes ma'am. can somebody help me? she yelled you just get on out of here I have never seen any rude like that before. read more

Cleanest facility I've ever seen. The laundromats and restrooms are both clean. Most of the washers and dryers are operational. One thing I didn't like was having to pay with their own card rather than your credit card in the machines; I had to wait in line to the bill breaker just to load their card, and the dryers aren't free either. The attendants were extremely informative and helpful; it is clear that they enjoy their jobs. The neighborhood is friendly and welcoming. The parking lot is somewhat congested, and space appears to be limited. read more

They have well-maintained laundry machines (broken ones will be marked for repair and actually be repaired by the time you come back), and the place is extremely clean. During COVID, it is still very popular and unfortunately they are not enforcing the use of masks, and they're still allowing people to linger while their clothes are machines and/or fold their clothes there instead of taking them home to fold, so I have to just hope that the live attendant and cameras will deter theft as I won't sit in an air stew with idiots, and I think they really should change their practices to protect their attendants and the public at large. We should have to wear masks and should only be allowed to be inside long enough to start a load and then we should have to leave and wait in our cars (or go do other errands, etc., but just not have all those people just sitting around breathing on each other). read more

This is a fairly new laundromat although I forgot to ask the manager when it opened when I talked to her. There wasn't even a Yelp listing yet to help me find it. I just remembered having driven past it when I was running other errands and when I Googled it I found out the exact location. I just needed a place to finish drying my clothing. I had washed it at Georgia Laundry which I have been going to since last summer. But their dryers still smelled like a campfire from the dryer fire they had a few days ago so I decided to go someplace else to dry them. I went to the Brock's Laundry at McMasters and 3rd on the recommendation of an Amarillo friend but was pretty turned off by the way I was treated there by the attendant. I won't go into detail of that here but you can read it when I write my review of Brock's. So I came here and while I'm not crazy about the whole card system, I'm not that crazy about stuffing a bunch of quarters into a machine either. There was $5 minimum which made drying my clothes kind of expensive after paying a dollar for the card. Not that I can't use the money on another visit, but what if I leave town and don't need to do my laundry again? I told the lady I could just give it to someone I know in town but still it cost me $6 to dry my clothes. On the plus side the place was well-lit, exceedingly clean, you wouldn't even worry if you dropped clothing on the floor when you were taking it out of the dryer because the floor is so clean. The attendant Stacy was super friendly and helpful, gave me a smile and greeted me, showed me how to use the vending machine to put money on the card after I bought it and how to put the card into the dryer to buy time. She was super busy the whole time I was there, showing other people how to use the machines, cleaning up, putting baskets where they came from, nice clean baskets I should mention. They also have a service where you can drop off your laundry and they will wash it and dry it for you so she was busy working on that and folding clothes also. Never too busy to help a customer though. And the customers were treated as though they were welcomed instead of treated poorly like I experienced at Brock's. It would have been nice if I could have found a laundromat that was closer to my motel but if I have to drive to one, this one is an excellent choice, highly recommended. Plus you get 10 minutes for every quarter in the dryer compared to 8 minutes for a quarter at Georgia laundry and 7 minutes for a quarter at Brock's. I can't tell you about the washers because I didn't need to use them this trip but I will update my review if I end up using them to wash my clothes another time. There is also a vending machine for soaps and softeners and one for pop, I didn't notice if there was one for snacks. There aren't a lot of chairs to sit in and they all seem to be over against one wall pretty far from the TV. There's a gigantic TV you can watch if you don't mind standing or sitting far away. There are plenty of washers and dryers all very clean and new looking. And their restroom was immaculate. They keep it locked and you have to ask for the key to use it and that is probably to keep people who aren't customers from coming in and using it and maybe leaving it dirty. It actually kills me to have to even give it a "Star" rating lol but just word to the wise DONT BRING OUT SIDE FOOD OR DRINKS !!! My 3 year old had a drink from chick fil a and by accident spilled well needless today I was the one that cleaned it up because I was told if it was a "drink" from the laundry the lady would clean it up but seeing that it's was from outside I was as responsible for he mess wow what terrible customer service I will never return!!!!! And oh the nice lady with the mop and bucket she's the manager and the one that told me to CLEAN IT UP OR LEAVE !!! Clearly She knew I was gonna clean it up because I had wet clothes still in he washer the owner was here on site and done nothing could have cared less !!!! Rarely use laundry services but so glad I found one that is clean! Both locations are staffed with an attendant to answer your questions and they are always cleaning. Impressed with the updated equipment, reasonable prices, and cleanliness. You do have to purchase a re-usable card ($1) to load money on to use equipment. Definitely recommend one of the two locations! read more

This was the first time I had ever been to a laundromat and the management and staff could tell. They were incredibly helpful and kind. They also helped me get a coffee stain out of a rug! I am extremely grateful for their service and will definitely be back when I am clumsy and spill things on the rug! Thanks Tornado Laundromat!! read more

i used my debit card to wash clothes and it put a hold on $15 and they said that it would be returned to my card the next day which it took 2 weeks for the laundry to take it from pending and back on card my bank said they couldnt do anything untill it was not pending the laundry fault finally it was returned to my card in which the laundry kept $2 for returning it i thought that i put card in 3xs but i didnt they hold for deposit which i didnt know and i was in there 3 days ago and didnt have money to put $10 onto laundry card the employee said just use debit card i said no cause of last time she said no and took card out of my hand and put in washer i go out to my car and they did it again after she said it wouldnt and said emplyees have nothing to do with that ! i was furious and said yes u do u took card from my hands and said it wouldnt that was thurs it is now sunday and still pendin i have called to talk to so called supervisor several times left messages to call me never have to me this is theft they charge $2 to refund it and it takes weeks wow i wont b back i hope everyone knows how they rip people off and machines hardly was clothes if you can find one that isnt out of order read more

This place is noisy, overcrowded and overpriced, no parking anywhere and you have to pay for a card to put money in, the machine don't use coins. I would never go back there again. HORRIBLE read more

The worst customer service. They have a last load 8:00 pm policy. I got there before 8. I understand it was cutting it close... I get that. But the employee could've been nice. Instead she locked the door on me as I walk back to my car with a cart and told me I could not put my clothes to wash because of their policy. I pointed at the clock trying to show her it wasn't eight yet. She didn't budge and she kept saying I couldn't put my clothes in. There was another customer in there that walked towards us and when the employee walked he said to me "yeah she's mean...." then he proceeded to tell me about a different place on 10th - Still wasn't eight. She walked around and asked him what did he say, she had obviously heard and was offended. He, scared of her said nothing. Took my clothes out of the cart and took it to my car, cried a little but then called my husband - still wasn't eight. He had told me about a time when that same lady pulled his clothes out of the washer because of the same policy but he said it wasn't eight when she did that. This lady is the reason we won't be returning. Her horrible customer service was upsetting. read more
