I've never had a better relationship with my bank then I do at ConnectOne in Englewood. My Branch advisor Jose greets me at the bank door and takes all my deposits then emails me my receipt. If I ever have any questions about any of my accounts I get a reply email or call within 15 minutes. I literally feel like a VIP that has a Concierge service at this bank. I'm also provided monthly updates on any money management options, like a CD or Bond when the interest rates improve. I HIGHLY recommend them you will be pleasantly surprised at how they work for you. read more

Forget about your friendly neighborhood bank. You know, the bank which once offered snacks and coffee so good, folks would come by to eat and drink without conducting actual bank business. Okay, so that was a bit too much 'hospitality.' What's replaced it is a management so full of itself, it can't be bothered to extend the simplest of courtesies. The turnover of staff is pretty constant. While the tellers are still friendly (why 2 stars), some of their bosses have forgotten how to provide service and maintain positive client interactions. Bottomline: you can do better. read more

ConnectOne has been my bank for years especially this location. I've always had a great experience at this location and I have never ran into any issues with them. They have renovated recently and the upgrade is great! read more

I've been a customer of ConnectOne Bank since day 1 when it took over Union Center National Bank. I have to admit, I am definitely NOT a fan of the online banking system and I hope someone at the bank with influence is reading these reviews so they could realize what people are saying and do something about it! I do want to recognize Ms Taursha Eatman who works in their Five Points (Union branch). I visited the branch this weekend to close a CD. She went the extra mile to retain my business by rate matching an interest rate offer I found at a different bank and she was actually able to improve the term I was looking for by 1 month! Saved me a trip to that other bank and I am so grateful for it! Thank you Ms Eatman!! read more

Great bank, staff is always friendly and accommodating. Best part is that they have no fees!!

ConnectOne Bank I have had an account with for years and I can always say every clerk that ever worked at this location has always been helpful. I am known by name which is nice especially in todays world where you are always 20 minutes late. They always greet you when you walk in the door, they have a change machine, and they have a brand new coffee maker. I love the atmosphere of the bank, it is certainly not a painful experience and will bank with them moving forward if you live in North Jersey look into it! read more

Moronic staff, who have to repeat their stupid slogan when they answer the phone; must be terrible to work there. Horrible bank, right down to their absurd hold music and awful computer interface. Loan officer expected butt-kissing, which I declined to perform. Run away! read more

This is the worst bank ever. They have an app FINALLY but it barely works and you need to have an insane password that includes symbols and numbers and letters and caps so good luck remembering it. The questions they ask you for "security" to set up the app are out of date so I hope you remember the cross street of your house 20 years ago or the name and city of bank you had your first mortgage with or you wont ever gain app access. The banker told me that he couldn't even get his set up since the answers to his questions are wrong. The online banking system (which was set up by the banker for me in person because it is mandatory to do it this way) only shows you 30 days worth of transactions from the day you sign up for online statements. But signing up for online banking and signing up for online statements are not the same thing apparently as I just found out. Even when you sign up it is not retroactive... All other statements are lost. Every other bank in the world has this both ways. In fact the bank this bank bought used to have it both ways so I was used to it. I lost all my statements for the past years. I hope I don't have to reference them for any reason. As an aside, everything needs to be done in person at this bank so plan on being off on a weekday between 9 and 5. When you call customer service they transfer you a bazillion times to people in the south who are not happy campers and just keep saying "I have no control over that ma'am." Its super frustrating. When you say things like every other bank in the 21st century has this capability why don't you? They can't answer. Its seriously like banking in the 70s. When they first bought UCNB they cancelled my debit card and my online banking and I called to see how I could apply for online banking access electronically. They told me I had to go to the branch in which I opened the account and fill out a form. They have no online forms... They couldn't even email me the form. They only have paper copies that need faxing. I sarcastically asked if they also have carbon copies and typewriters. For crying out loud its 2015. With my capital one account, I can deposit checks from bed. I've had this account since I was a teenager. (which is why I want to but find it hard to switch) My mom opened it with me. Since its a community bank there are 5 branches in the town and I couldn't remember (16 years back) to which one I sat down to open it at... That was a challenge. I spent my whole day off (again during the week 9-5) going from branch to branch to find someone to verify I opened the account there. I am going to have to bite the bullet and switch banks... but that will require me to take a day off from work since I'm sure you have to be there in person at the branch you opened it originally forever ago. read more

This bank is awesome! I have a small business account with them. I wrote a check out last week and I was called by the branch manager in West NY that my account will be overdrawn if I don't deposit the difference by the afternoon. I was panicking since I could not get to the bank today and she worked with me and told me they have a branch in NYC! I mean that's service! I've never had a bank manager call me to warn me my account will be overdrawn! I would just be slapped with fees and those big banks are all the happier. Excellent customer service. Also, the staff in NYC was awesome too and super dooper friendly. Thank you! read more

Worst bank I've ever banked with. I have no issue with the staff at the locations. It's the bank itself. The online customer service is non-existent and if you have a problem accessing your money, better hope it's during business hours. read more

This bank leaves much to be desired. Service at this branch (Englewood Cliffs) is slow and employees are not very friendly or helpful. I do find the other branches to be very friendly and had good experiences elsewhere, but I work closest to this branch. And unfortunately, it's like banking in the 1960's. You have to go to the bank for everything. The online system is an absolute waste and the customer service via phone tells you to go to the bank for everything. The employee turnover must be near 90%! Everytime I go here (again, you have to go often because you can't do a damn thing online or via phone) I meet a new employee. No real community bank feel here. I opened my account when this bank was NJ "community" bank. It is appropriate that they changed the name, because they are not a community bank at all. When I go to my bank I prefer to see the same friendly employees and not a different person every time. Put your money elsewhere. I will be closing my accounts as I just don't have time to enter a bank for everything. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Worst bank ever, specifically the Union, Morris Avenue location. Promise after promise of simple tasks were never completed. Had Mortgage, MM, checking, Direct Deposit, Bill Pay. Safety Deposit Box. Finally closed it all out in Dec. Guess what? As of yesterday the checking was still open, even though the Branch Mgr was the one who closed it. On line banking is horrible, difficult to navigate, nearly impossible to perform functions. Set up transfers correctly, then they don't work. Some Auto check Payments impossible to stop. Dozens of issues in last few months. Nearly every time I called Customer Service directed me to the branch who directed back to CS. Even stopping in the branch is hopeless. They are good at charging fees like a stop check fee on a payment they messed up. Took 4 visits to get it credited back. Note that they may give you an incorrect ATM balance then hit you for numerous insufficient fund fees. Could give several more examples of their incompetence but just thankful to be out of there. read more
