Opening a checking account was easy. I was attended to just a few minutes after taking a seat in the waiting area. Their friendly service rep was able to get my new checking account and debit card right away. Their app makes it very convenient to check your balance and conduct transactions online. I pay all my bills this way and have never had any issues. They integrate seamlessly with third party companies such as Trustly and Aeropay which makes deposits instantly available on your balance while the transaction is still pending. While they are very secure, I found one of their new safety measures to be inconvenient. I went to pick up a copy of my bank statement and the security guard informed me that I needed to scan a QR code on my phone in order to enter. This is the only bank where this has happened to me. I had to return home and come back which I found frustrating. Their ATM's are available 24 hours a day. They have three kiosks inside where you can conduct quick transactions. Be forewarned that if you visit after hours when there is nobody inside you will be without any customer support if you run into a problem. I went to deposit cash and the machine wouldn't return my debit card. There were no warning signs stating the machines were broken and I was stuck there with another customer who had the same issue. On another occasion I was fortunate enough to have the security guard come out and abruptly warn me not to put money in the ATM right when I was about to insert cash in the machine. I was able to complete my transaction at the front desk thankfully. read more

Did a bill pay giving mailing and electronic info to the payee's account at JPMorgan/Chase. It has taken over a week and the deposit still has not gone through, causing a number of serious problems. I'll look at my other bank for doing this in the future. read more

I liked TD bank when it was Commerce Bank. However, as with most things, nothing good lasts forever. Free checking, the coin machine and this bank, in particular lacks friendly customer service that I'm used to from my prior location. read more

It takes forever to process a check, from another financial institution resulting in a negative balances, which creates all kinds of economic problems for its customer. TD Bank is slowly becoming Bank Of America, riddle with fraud and deception . read more

STAY AWAY! The only reason I gave this branch a single star is because there is no option to give it zero stars. This has been the worst banking experience of my 40 years. Accounts that were supposed to have been closed remained open, despite assurances from in-person staff at the bank that they were closed. I called the bank repeatedly and left messages for the manager and even spoke to a supervisor who never got back to me about my issues. And the bank refused to rectify a mistake they made on my own account. Bank at your own risk. I plan to go somewhere else with my hard-earned money. read more

For the longest time, I eagerly awaited the opening of a TD Bank in my neighborhood. My only other options were 157th and Broadway (which has been my go-to), and the one around 230th west of Broadway in Riverdale, which is a tad too far removed for me. TD is not my primary bank; I hold a checking account there to run my rent and utilities from, as well as my savings account, and on the whole, I've been pleased with the bank's services. Regarding this specific location, the interior is clean and bright, with everything you'd expect at any other TD, including financial advisers, the Penny Arcade, et al. However, service was definitely lacking. I don't mean that in terms of politeness necessary. When I've gone, tellers have been polite, though I've realized that having three or four tellers behind the counter equates to usually only one actually taking customers. I think my final straw with them was one night when I needed a temporary check; I had ordered new checks, but they weren't due to arrive for a few days, past the time I need to send out my rent check. (Side note: My management needs to get with the times, because they are the only vendor I pay with a physical check each month. Heh.) I went one evening after work; as mentioned again, there were three tellers and a gentleman that, I'm guessing, was their supervisor. Only one of them was taking customers, so I waited patiently. It was my turn. I explained that I needed a temporary check because I was waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. She told me that they no longer issue temporary checks; as I received a temporary check from the 157th Street branch just a couple of months ago, that puzzled me. I explained my situation. She was unable to offer me other options for obtaining a check. Her demeanor made it seem as though she honestly did know have an answer for me. Politely, I thanked her and left for the TD Bank near my boyfriend's apartment (109th and Broadway), wanting to get there before they closed at 7. Once I got to the teller and asked her about the temporary checks, she explained that TD stopped issuing them in 2016, "But, here are your options...", efficiently getting me set up with a bank check within about 5 minutes. While I may continue to drop off occasional deposits to this branch when my Mobile Deposit is acting squirrely or if I need to cash some coins, I really am not sure I'd conduct any kind of serious banking here. I have not been too impressed. Though, perhaps I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, a little bit, as this branch is only a few months old. I suppose time will tell! read more

Like others, I wish there was a zero stars option. I've had a TD account for years, the branches I've used (Union Sq, Chelsea, etc) are okay - this one, near my apartment, appears to be staffed by zombies. Any questions I've asked - and these were easy questions - have been met by blank stares. The staff definitely isn't well informed and can be rude. I don't take much offense at the rudeness because I'm not sure they even understand basic customer interaction. Not just the worst TD branch I've been in, the worst bank I've ever been in. Just terrible that they're taking up a whole corner - turn them into a sandwich shop please. read more

I have a negative comment to make about one (1) particular service rep at this branch. He was sitting at the first desk you see as you enter, to the left of the entrance. I don't remember his name and desks may be shared so i don't want to say it was this person or that but the point is, the customer service I received from him was poor and unprofessional. I recently opened an account at TD and went in with a simple question about their Bill Pay feature. The rep appeared to be in the middle of something on his computer but motioned for me to sit down. I asked my question and he provided me with the answer but it was a bit like pulling teeth. His answers were terse and involuntary and i had to ask for clarification. I repeated my understanding of his answer and he acknowledged it was correct and then promptly went back to looking at his computer. I thought perhaps he was going to give me a print-out or something and so waited a bit but then had to ask if we were finished! As a customer, I expected at least a "have I answered all your questions?" and then perhaps a "thanks for banking with us" before he went back to looking at his computer screen! HOW RUDE! read more
