I was a little nervous because of the diametrically opposed reviews here. It seems like it's either a one or a five. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, so I really wanted it to be a good experience And it was an amazing experience. The restaurant is really pretty. It's got fairy lights and waterfalls and tablecloths. The service was great. We were checked on multiple times. We never had a dirty dish on the table for a second. Our drinks were refilled promptly. Everyone was very nice and accommodating and most importantly the food was great! The warm crusty bread was delicious and the spread that they gave us was really good. My boyfriend got the Delmonico ribeye which was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious. I got the chili and Seabass and it was also really great and then we got the black tie chocolate cake for dessert which was delicious and it even had a message written on it and we got a giant sparkler to celebrate at the end. They gave me a beautiful rose, which actually has bloomed out and looks amazing. Still, I would most definitely go back here!

Food and services were all wonderful. Get the delmonico- you'll love it. I also had the shrimp cocktail and the Caesar salad.

Hands down top notch service from the moment we arrived. We had a large group and they accommodated us very well. The service was amazing and the food was stellar. The host was poised and perfectly executed the evening.

All things just keeping getting better..... connected has always been great and coming back to Illinois I was glad to see some things never change. The interior is romantic and interesting. Love the front addition. Service is 5 stars here. Several people attending to your table. Still ending with a rose and limoncello I was very happy to see the sea bass was still on the menu. So good! And the delmonico steak is a must. The bread comes with an eggplant dip that I could drink ! They have a great selection of whisky don't sleep on connected !

This was our second year dining here for our anniversary. Last year my husband got the Cinghiale with Au Gratin potatoes and when I had a bite I immediately knew what I would get this year. We started with the Carpaccio Di Manzo & both of us got the Cinghiale. It is melt in your mouth delicious. I cannot wait to celebrate another anniversary here!

She recommended the Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich. My sandwich was huge and contained a large portion of pulled pork meat. It was delicious and the homemade chipotle bbq mayo made it all the more satisfying with its rich smoky flavor! The Cuban-style black beans were right out of Miami! Very nicely prepared and included green peas, carrots, corn, and bell peppers, as well. My dining companion, for her part, ordered the Falafel platter, with a side order of gyro meat. The falafel (a dozen), were fresh, tasty, and just the right consistency. These were served with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pita, and hummus. The side order of gyro meat featured a generous portion of decadently succulent lamb shavings and included two portions of homemade tzatziki sauce. Everything we ate was prepared to perfection and could easily compete with exceptional restaurants in Chicago! Yes, the food at One World is that good. As for the service, our waitress Quincy was friendly and professional. As for the ambiance and decor--we arrived ahead of the lunch crowd, so it was pretty quiet. The decor, however, is nicely done. The premises were clean and well maintained. Ditto the restrooms. The restaurant is actually huge. There are multiple dining areas and in the summer there is an outside patio behind the restaurant, as well. As for pricing and affordability--quality costs, and the food here is definitely a cut above. That being said, the owners have priced the entrees quite reasonably considering the generous portion-size and quality of the food. My overall opinion? If you want a dining experience worthy of comparison to the best Chicagoland has to offer, but don't want to make the long drive--or pay twice as much--then I highly recommend this little gem of a locally-owned restaurant in Peoria!

Review Visit: November 11th, 2014…read more Room and Board in this castle is forever "No Vacancy". Nestled on the corner of a random street in Peoria, you would almost never know this place was here unless you were told about it or randomly drove down the right street. The only way I learned about this place is when I went to pick up my friend Tim one day and accidentally drove a block too far past his house. Tim told me he had been there before and it was pretty good. He said he walked there a few times to get food. I felt betrayed. I felt left out in the cold. As the feeling of betrayal faded, we made plans to go one night. It also happened to be the night Tim was moving. Sometimes we aren't great at planning stuff. We strolled in once we got most of the stuff packed up and loaded in our vehicles. We were greeted by a small yet cozy bar with seating that was just enough for the area. It held maybe 15 comfortably before it would start to feel packed. The bartender told us to take a seat anywhere and she would bring us a menu. In talking with people about Castle's and reading up on it from local online articles, this place is known for it's cheese. We knew that going in, so we ordered some crackers and cheese. This may be the first and only place that serves Ritz-style crackers to go along with their legendary cheese. There is always some hesitation when you are about to try something a place is well-known for. That happened here. Tim and his brother wasted no time digging in to the cheese and crackers. I grabbed my cracker and contemplated on how I was going to dip it, how much I was going to scoop and how big of a bite I was going to take. Okay, maybe that didn't happen but I did take that first bite rather slowly as I wanted to fully dedicate my taste buds to what I was about to experience. The cheese was good. I can see why people raved about it. It had a bit of that "made with love" added to it that your grandma's cookies also have. And before I knew it, the cheese and crackers were gone and the food we ordered was in front of us. I don't remember exactly what I ordered (looks like a pulled pork?) but I remember thinking it was pretty standard bar food, which is a compliment in my book. Bar food is cheap, usually 150% unhealthy for you, and full of flavor and deliciousness. Castle's Patio Inn was that. The fries were fries. Nothing fancy but something that I bet would be good dipped in the cheese. We didn't really get to experience the bar part of Castle's but that is totally fine. You can come here and sit at the bar and converse with the bartender about life's many issues or you can snag a table with your family for some cheap bar food and some exquisite cheese. Americans. We sure do love our cheese.

We ended up staying there talking for a couple of hours to catch up, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. While there are lots of great options on the menu, both of us chose the BPT - Breaded Pork Tenderloin. I've eaten a lot of breaded pork tenderloins in my time, but none like this one. The usual approach is super thin and huge, making the bun look tiny. While this one wasn't much larger than the bun, it was at least an inch thick, so it was more like eating a fried pork chop sandwich, but with the meat tenderized. The meat was well-seasoned and very flavorful, and the crust was extra-crispy and crunchy. The Honey-Lime sauce (one of three sauces brought to each table along with Ranch and Tyler's Sauce) is delicious and worked great with the pork. Fries were good, as was the cole slaw (which had a nice kick from some very freshly-ground black pepper). And I'm always happy when a place has Guinness on tap.

From the get go the atmosphere was great, there was a short queue (but it was a Friday night, so it's to be expected), but we were quickly shown to our table. Our server was Connor, who was great from the start and was very flexible with our large group who had a few dietary preferences/requirements. One of our favorite things about the menu is the focus on utilizing local businesses and serving their products. As most locals know Bill's Lemon Shake Ups are a staple in the region so when I saw that on the menu I had to go for that, and with multiple flavor choices I was excited to try. I ended up settling for the tenderloin sandwich, but I was certainly interested to try a lot of the menu. The amount of pork was HUGE and it was flavorful and paired with the honey lime sauce it was a 10/10! The bun alone was phenomenal, and I couldn't recommend this meal enough if you are a schnitzel or tenderloin fan! That sauce is definitely a star of the show, paired with the sweet heat seasoning available at the table next to the S&P the meal was the perfect combination of sweet, spice and tasty! Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well and there was little left by the end. The nachos were customized to account for a dietary preference so this is not the standard, however they were delicious and a huge portion. The pizza was thin crust and was excellent too, so no notes across the board. Thanks once again to Connor for accommodating us and being so patient with our party. You can also purchase any of the three major sauces that they have in house, so I proceeded to buy the honey lime which we'll be enjoying for the next few weeks, if it makes it that long!

And we highly recommend a visit, especially if you are familiar with the brand! Like the BloNo location there are at least two entrances - the one further west is for a good sized hosting/ordering/waiting area while the one closest to the ballpark has more direct access to the bar area, but is way more space-restricted and will likely be a traffic jam on game days. If you're looking for a table, both entrances open to the rest of the cool 'industrial chic' dining areas in the form of a large street-level open concept dining area and a good sized split-level (up 3-4 steps) back room - which despite having wide entrances that make it feel part of the larger space, likely can easily be cordoned-off for private functions. One visit in and the lady and I (plus our friend and former Ptown bartender) can say that the food was every bit the same top-quality, large portion, methodically cooked and creatively accented sandwiches and wraps, served in old school pie pans with red-white check paper liners, that we are used to. The weekend special shaved ribeye Cali burrito was particularly epic, cementing what seems to be the first of the 3 or 4 things that keep the crowds coming back. The second thing is the creativity and discernment applied to bar side - in the form of the beer menu, which is initially focused on bottles/cans since they just received the liquor license the day before our arrival. Despite this there was a good mix of 'domestics' and at least 20 quality craft options from 6 or 8 fantastic breweries representing a good variety of styles but leaning like those at the original location - that is, a few more IPAs and 'sweet sours'. They also maintain a thoughtful and inventive cocktail list and will NO DOUBT start building up the whiskey/bourbon collection in the coming weeks. Although having high quality and fairly compensated employees helps immensely, the last thing that really drives their business is something we often say three times - location... In this case, it's literally less than a block from home plate. Easy to find. Easy to love. We'll certainly be back!

Like only 20 tables or so. The couple next to us was on a date and I felt like I could follow their whole conversation from the moment we sat down. Our waiter came by to introduce himself, but didn't take our drink orders. When he came back, he jumped right in to our meal orders. All of our meals came with salads and he never asked us about dressing options, so I assumed all salads came with a house dressing. But my dad's girlfriend asked for blue cheese...I mistook her request for dressing and just put blue cheese crumbles on top of her plain salad...no dressing. We did ask him about drinks as he was leaving with the menus. While waiting, we overheard the table behind us ordering their salads and their waiter gave them a whole list of dressing options. Once we got our salads, we dug in but the vinaigrette was so strong, I couldn't eat it without grimacing. I ordered the chicken piccata. It was drowning in capers. That is all I could taste. It was so briny and salty that I could barely eat half of the portion they gave me. The chicken was also a little tough to cut through. I would be willing to try again. I never leave one experience to take over my whole perception.
