It was light and refreshing, yet not overlay rich. It was perfect for a hot summer day. They are known for their luxemburgerli but it was during the heat wave when we went and it was so hot that I wasn't in the mood for anything too sugary so I didn't get any to try which I really regret and would love to try them out next time I'm in town. Service was quite slow. We waited for over 15mins before we were seated even though there's tables available. And no one came to acknowledge us during that time as well. Next time when I return, I would probably opt to just pick up some luxemburgerli to go unless you're very tired and just want to find a place to sit down and rest.

What I enjoy is you purchase choc by the slab vs piece so you can buy as little or much as you want. Then I find out they're in the States as well!

The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the aroma of fresh chocolate and displays of their famous slabs, pralines, and seasonal creations. Everything looks (and tastes) amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful, offering samples and explaining the different flavors, which makes the experience fun and welcoming. CHF9.90 for 100g from the slabs isn't that bad. They are quite the size of your palm and that is quite big enough to enjoy. You can get a smaller size too if you want to try them all. It's a great spot for picking up gifts to bring home, but honestly, you'll probably want to treat yourself too. A sweet highlight of my Zürich trip.

The timed tickets apparently do nothing to stem the flow of hyper children and teenagers running amuck. The museum portion was interesting but we were not provided an audio guide nor was there a docent assigned to us. Suddenly chocolate fountains of white, milk and dark came into view and all thoughts of learning chocolate facts went out the window. We grabbed these disposable spoons and felt like Augustus Gloop as we licked the chocolates and then felt like hamsters as we stuck out our palms to receive the bits of chocolate dispensed out of tubes. Nothing was labeled but each tube dispensed a different flavor of chocolate! At the very end of the tour, we were given 1 of each flavor of the Lindor truffle balls! There was even a cute interactive part outside the museum where if you scan your ticket, you watch a Rube Goldberg machine transfer a ball into a piece of wrapped chocolate into your hand! I would've enjoyed this more had not this feral little boy behind us not screamed and clutched at people because he could not wait his turn. The shop was pretty expensive and I could not tell the difference between Lindt chocolate sold in the US but the tastings were magical. Those were the huge slabs of freshly made chocolates and varying mix-ins. Then a block size of your choosing is snapped off and put in a bag. I found the milk chocolate and white chocolate to be the best, since they do all things creamy well here. The darker chocolate didn't stand out as much in my opinion, especially with Belgian dark chocolate as a comparison point. And the mix-ins are more of a matter of personal preferences, but anything that contained any type of roasted nut tasted great to me. I also tried some truffles, pralines and bonbons. All were delicious little bites. But it just felt I was getting a lot more chocolate from the bars than from the individual pieces. Especially noticeable if you're looking for a large box to bring back home as a present.

Teuscher is known for their champagne truffles so, I made sure I got a box of them. I also got bars and boxes of chocolates to give away to friends and family. I love how they have a lactose-free chocolate option. They have white, milk, and dark chocolates, plain, fruits, nuts... The customer service was superb! They saw me struggling with all the chocolate bars in my hands so, they quickly grabbed them from me and gave me a basket for more chocolates. And the gentleman was telling me about their products. They were giving me free samples so I can narrow down my options...or make me grab more chocolates. They gave me extra shopping bags since I had multiple bags from different chocolate shops when I walked in. I've been munching on chocolates more than usual every single day since I went to Zurich. Those were my selections on this visit. It's a small chocolate shop but they have everything their bigger store in Lucerne has.
