This might be one of the best if not THE BEST ice cream spot in New Jersey! I had the chance to speak to the owner and he told me that he and his family run all the stores in New Jersey which I thought was so inspiring. I also found out they make most of their own ice creams. I ended up getting their coffee ice cream, java chunk, and coconut castaway. 100/10. The inside of the place is super fun and a gives a homey neighborhood ice cream shop. Perfect for a late night ice cream run or to spend time with family. They have a good amount of seating available as well. read more

I stopped in for a milkshake...completely overpriced. Im not sure what it was but its not real ice cream, It had almost a fake taste to it. I did ask for a thick milkshake and she got the consistency perfect but it didn't taste like real ice cream. Completely disappointed. read more

Coney Waffle - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Toms River, New Jersey

Just...amazing. There is a place in LA called Somisomi that was my greatest ice cream experience. I must say that Coney Waffle exceeded my expectations. It now ranks as the best ice cream experience of my life. It pushes Mayday in Jacksonville down to 3rd place. Please remember I'm quite critical. I absolutely love the origin story of this place. I had no idea there are multiple locations. Last night Aug 2nd my ex and I had dinner(we are friends) and I wanted ice cream and she agreed. So an online search reveled this establishment. I had no idea what to order. My ex wife doesn't really stray from the basics so chocolate with sprinkles in a cup is her choice. I had to sample some flavors. The Coney waffle is shaped like a hot dog bun. 3 smaller scoops fill the "bun." The 3 flavors I sampled I chose. Cinnamon Swirl, Morning Toffee, and Pignoli Cannoli, I think? It has marscapone and Livoti's pignoli cookies in it. Oh, and toppings! I chose Nutella because I love it!! Peanut butter wishes it was Nutella. Now, you can eat this with your hands but I chose to be civilized and take my time. The combo of flavors with the perfectly cooked waffle made me devour every last morsel. The young ladies behind the counter are sweet and patient with newbies like me. They also offer soft serve, Italian ice, and to go treats. I also believe you can phone your order in! There is hidden outdoor seating in a garden area and just 2 outside tables upfront. Inside is picnic bench attached to table style seating. It is freezing inside so get that outside table! Can't wait to go back! read more

Amazing service, quality ice cream, and very clean well kept business offering unique products! Convenient location and hours of operation, plenty of parking. We frequent this establishment often in the summer. Christmas I always look for a unique advent calendar for my girls. When I saw online that they were offering Ice Cream Advent Calendars, I went in to order one. Joe took care of me right away--I asked if I could choose my own flavors and he said absolutely. He even suggested special holiday flavors and offered to customize each calendar with my daughters' names. I was sold! He told me he could have them ready the same day, but I planned to come back a couple of days later. When I picked them up, they were perfect--especially the personalized flavor lists. So cute! They also have premade options in the display case--I think they're called samplers--which would be great to bring to a holiday party. Joe and his brother clearly take pride in their business. Truly top-notch! read more

Great place for ice cream in the Toms River area! They a lot of flavors so they most likely will have something that you'll like. I ended up getting the Jersey smore, which was solid. Price was fair too. The service was very helpful, friendly and fast. We got our ice cream quick despite coming on a hot summer weekend night. The restaurant has seats on the inside and outside. There's a lot of good ice cream in the area, but this place is a solid option! read more

This is what an ice cream place should look and taste like! Friendly staff! All the people behind the counter were smiling and helpful with all the unique flavors. Close to 50 flavors to choose from. The owner was taking me about all the different options. We got: 2 batman fudge... chocolate, with chocolate, with more chocolate. Raspberry chocolate chunk. A wonderful dark purple ice cream with mini chocolate chips. 2 regular chocolate. And a mix of cookies and cream with chocolate peanut butter. ALL the flavors were homemade and delicious! So many options for toppings and even had plenty of other desserts to try! Cakes, brownies, and GIANT cookies. The tables were all painted to look like fun flavors and spread out. It was not busy but I can easily see it being so. Do NOT miss this ice cream shoppe. read more

The employees are extra nice and special. The place is clean. Ice cream was very good. I had peanut butter chocolate, peanut butter vanilla and salted caramel pretzel. However I have no idea how this is supposed to be eaten. I had to pick it up and eat it like a hotdog because it is hard; not soft the way a waffle is supposed to be. read more

I ordered a special birthday gift for a coworker from here, Joe dialed me directly from Coney Waffle asking about my order to make sure he got it right and went ABOVE & BEYOND knowing it was for someone special! The grub hub driver brought it to the wrong place, so Joe had to re-do everything! Which I really appreciated! And he made the birthday cannolis and icecream sandwich pull apart cake! Was SO COOL! The crew loved it! What a great FIRST Experience! Thank you JOE!!!! You made my girl Sam's day and we really enjoyed everything! Christina @ LGCDJRF read more

We found this gem on our way home from IBSP. The place is bright, colorful and clean. You can go inside to order or use the convenient drive through. They have lots of delicious selections so you may want to familiarize yourself with the menu beforehand! I ordered the cannoli ice cream in a waffle bowl. The ice cream was creamy, rich and delicious. The waffle bowl was fresh and light. So very good! On my second trip I tried the vanilla peanut butter in a waffle bowl with peanut butter sauce and whipped cream. This was so delicious! So many good choices it was hard to pick a favorite. Drive through service seems a little more efficient than going inside. The line was a little long and we had two workers offer to help us - my husband and I. We thought it would make more sense for one person to help us and someone else to help the next person in line. ‍ Can't wait to go back and try a different flavor!! read more

The decor is nice The service is friendly Prices on the higher side Totally not what I expected I thought the waffles would be made to order warm not served cold and hard as they sit stacked on the shelf. The ice cream had many flavor choices and the quality was good. For me this was a one and done visit. read more

This location is new to the Toms River area. I waited awhile to tried it due to the buzz. The service was great and fast. The ambiance is loud which is expected since it's full of happy families. If you want a bit more silence you can sit outside to the corner they have a small patio. The decoration is fun and bright. Now to the main star the ice cream. They had one of the biggest selections in my opinion. From milkshake to soft serve and don't forget the fudge and giant cookies on the counter. I feel like they have something for everyone even those that don't enjoy ice cream. Not sure if they any lactose friendly options. I tried the dulce de leche and it was perfect blend of caramel. The pistachio is calling my name for next time. read more

I went to go get ice cream (I have a peanut allergy) and they did not take any precautions. I asked if they could use another scooper and they said they didn't do that, or use a different tub of ice cream to make sure there wasn't any cross contamination. I ended up walking out and leaving because they did not want to take any precautions for my allergy. read more

I'll be honest I was super excited for this ice cream shop to be local to my home here in Tom's River. I used to drive all the way to Asbury or long branch for my favorite ice cream at coney waffle. The first two experiences here were good but the last 3 times I have been coming to this location the ice cream has been super soft and no flavor. Not sure if they are using cheaper ingredients but I would rather take the drive to Asbury or long branch at this point. Lines inside are ridiculously long and employees who I have seen the same over time still don't know the difference between a waffle and sugar cone. Only plus is the drive thru just to skip the long lines read more

The staff is always so very friendly and helpful! They all have knowledge about the different flavors and options available. The ice cream and their cakes are delicious!! We will keep coming back! And bonus - it's always clean!! read more

I would've rated this places a 3.7 but I thought the ice cream was okay and the customer service was great! The girl that took my order was short and had glasses and she was an absolute delight to talk to! But what caused me to rate this place a very low review was because when I was there I saw 2 young ladies in the back of the counter with their hair down and touching the food with no gloves. I was absolutely appalled by this behavior because I found it very unsanitary. I hope this doesn't happen again but I won't be likely to come here again. read more
