Makes me wonder just how old all that candy is. I doubt it's highly trafficked anymore. In my opinion it's a major rip off and not worth the stop. Go anywhere else. The women running it are sloppy as well. Not very presentable and certainly unprofessional. ETA: heard recently from a friend that she bought hollow chocolate bunnies and her kids found MAGGOTS inside them. Gross!!!!! Another ETA: A relative of mine walked in to attempt to get candy for Valentine's Day. She was so incredibly grossed out by the smell of smoke and absolute filth in this place. Dirty candy molds, old crap everywhere and the office looked like a hoarder lived in it. The lady behind the counter was moving so slow no one was checked out in the 5 minutes she gave it and in that 5 min is when she made the observations and left. How has this place not gotten shut down?!

The quality and service is by far the best in the World. I know this because I professionally have eaten the World's chocolate. When we first met they had supplied chocolates for the major airports in the USA NY Kennedy, Washington DC Dulles, Chicago O'Hare, Detroit,Miami and border shops on the USA side of Canada and Mexico. This is a family owned business so the owner himself worked with me and gave out samples of chocolates to passengers every Friday out of Kennedy airport in NY. Who does that?! Nobody I can tell you but them. Now years later we meet again but now they have chocolates being made in Napa with the finest Beligium chocolates. They even have a chocolatier from France. So they have delicious chocolate truffles as well as turndowns. They represent the best cruiselines, hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. I have had the good fortune of having many a private tour here and in my professional opinion it is the best.

If there is something I would consider as a reason to knock points from Third Avenue Chocolate…read moreShoppe, it would be the somewhat intimate lighting inside. For an establishment that is a candy shop, it feels almost ashamed to advertise itself. Indeed, the display cases are well lit, and maybe that's the idea- but this lacks the identity of a Wonka-esque world of pure imagination. Indeed, I would knock things down from 5-stars to 4-stars were I an interior decorating snob, but I don't come for the decor, I come for the confectioneries. It's an easy place to get service. Just ask and you shall receive. The choices of chocolate are many- indeed too many for such a review- and if you don't care for chocolate? There are many choices to be had besides. Indeed, the idea of domestic candies can be intimidating. We are all so very used to brand names, but find a familiar recipe, have a moment's courage, and you may find a new favorite. If not? The store is home to more than a few classic brands of sweet, sour, and otherwise yummies. I insist you come in yourself and examine each item up close. Treat yourself as well as you do others.
