Ladino's in San Antonio's Pearl District is an absolute delight! First impression, I appreciated…read morethe thoughtful Mediterranean-inspired decor and inviting atmosphere. We visited on a Wednesday evening with a party of five and experienced a short 15-20 minute wait, but the food made it well worth it. Before our reservation, I discovered Ladino had earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand award, so expectations were slightly raised. Our table opted for the Table of Joy, a four-course experience we dubbed a Mediterranean culinary journey. From pita and dips to cold and hot meze, mangal entrees, and assorted desserts, every course brought fun and surprising flavors. I can't speak to the authenticity of the dishes but I consider myself a bit of an amateur-expert in delicious food--and this place did not disappoint! Pita & Dips: The beet muhammara was light and refreshing, while the fire-roasted corn and tirshi were table favorites. The pita itself? Hands down, best pita I've ever had. Cold & Hot Meze: The red snapper crudo and kibbeh nayeh (beef tartare) were my personal favorites. I challenge anyone one the fence about tartare to try--just add a squeeze of lemon, scoop it onto the gem lettuce, and prepare to be transformed. Mangal Entrees: The biggest surprise was the mushroom shawarma. I'm not huge on mushrooms or meatless entrees, but this dish completely won me over. The textures and flavors were beautifully executed. We also enjoyed the Wagyu steak, saffron chicken, and pork souvlaki. The pork stood out for its tenderness and the delicious charred aroma that complemented the spices. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of these entrees. Desserts: We finished with the ice cream sandwich, supangle, and olive oil cake. The cake was light and buttery, balanced by fresh peaches, while the supangle, a chocolate pudding made with local Texas honey was a table favorite. Final Verdict: Ladino is a must-try for anyone seeking an exciting dining experience in San Antonio. I'll definitely be back--and next time, I'm trying the duck. Don't mind the photos of the half eaten dishes--I got overly excited and forgot to take pictures before digging in.

Not pictured but the shrimp fritters were the best corn fritters i've had in my life. The salads were robust and fresh, food came out at a great pace, our server packed our leftovers as we ate so we'd have as clean a table as possible and continually gave us fresh silverware and side plates and refilled our waters without asking every time he was there. he killed the little steps of service that completely raise the experience. he also was funny and had a sweet personality. The food was fresh and flavors interesting, very little fell short. The desserts (also not pictured) were amazing. Chocolate très leches and bourbon bread pudding. The restaurant is beautiful and sadly overlooked in my opinion. I feel the food can be hit or miss and sometimes the service too, but everything hit this night.

Industrial look and feel, very nice curb appeal but that's where the goodness stops…read more A disappointing dining experience from start to finish. On a day when the restaurant had only two occupied tables, it was difficult to understand why our food took approximately 45 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, the delay became more understandable when we discovered our order had been swapped with the other table's. Mistakes happen, but what followed was far more frustrating than the error itself. When we politely pointed out that our order was incorrect, the staff argued with us and insisted that the dish matched the menu description. In doing so, they made claims about menu items that were simply untrue. Rather than listening to customer feedback or attempting to resolve the issue, the staff became defensive and offered no meaningful effort to correct the mistake or improve the experience. We then asked to speak to the manager and that took another 10-15 minutes for her to simply come and remove our plates from the table. As for the food, it was acceptable at best. Nothing was particularly memorable, and certainly nothing justified the premium pricing. For the quality delivered, the menu feels significantly overpriced. Good restaurants are often judged not by whether mistakes occur, but by how they respond when they do. Between the slow service, incorrect order, dismissive attitude, and mediocre food, this was a thoroughly disappointing experience and not one I would recommend for tourists or locals.

We eventually joined the monthly bottle membership, which probably says everything about how often this place works for us. The bruschetta boards are generously portioned with enough variety to lean savory, sweet or somewhere deliciously in between, and they pair perfectly with an easy bottle of wine. It's casual enough for a spontaneous stop but still feels polished enough to make an ordinary evening feel like a treat. One of the highlights is when they open the large bar windows and the whole space shifts into that indoor-outdoor mode. You can sit inside, outside or right along the open-air edge and enjoy the best of both. We've even come here after a full dinner somewhere else just to linger, lounge and finish the night with another pour. Postino has easily become a San Antonio spot for relaxed sips, shareable bites and easy neighborhood vibes.

The bruschetta flight was wheat bread (yuckyyy) and the toppings were skimped on. Flavor was not there for the food. I forced myself to eat it all too because I refuse to waste food in this economy but my bf didn't like any so I was accepting the challenge Wine was a basic glass and the atmosphere is kinda odd aesthetic. Not sure what their vibes or theme is. Kinda just plain. One bartender and she was kinda spacey and ppl were flagging her down for service. There was a man next to us at the bar and he was clearly a regular. He knew bartenders name and she knew his and the conversation was more professional / business customer service than friend. He said his meatballs didn't taste normal or good and I heard the bartender tell him either the chef quit or is on vacation and someone else was back there. He sent it back but was trying to tell her he didn't want another one but she got a manager and came out they said they were sorry and making him another one. Not sure if I went on a one off but I doubt I'll be back if in the area.

We were seated right away, we chose the chef's table because we had already eaten dinner at home, but just wanted to go out for a stroll around the pearl and grab some dessert. We ordered the lemon blueberry Panna cotta and not only is it delicious but it's also beautiful! It looks like a work of art. I ordered one of their craft beers and we got some french fries on the side just to offset the sweet. Definitely a great dessert if you are not wanting something too sweet or two filling. It has been over 10 years since I have been here to eat, but being there reminded me how much I loved the last meal I had here so I am eager to go back for lunch or dinner!

We also had the snapper throats and loved them. The aioli was a great sauce with them. I had the gulf catch of the day, which was grouper, and it was so good. Great seasoning, perfectly flaky and moist, a nice crust on the outside. With that we had some jalapeno corn bread which was also delicious. Not too dry at all. I was hoping for it to be spicy but it was not. For dessert, I gad panna cotta and it was a great ending. Not too sweet, but the berries made up for that. The lavender meringue bites had a great crunch. Our server (Maya) was excellent. She was so friendly and helpful. Finally, the decor is unmatched anywhere. It used to be a brewery and they kept the old pipes and valves, which look very cool. It has a great vibe. I highly recommend. Without the need to, I'll mention anyway that it's not cheap. But it's worth it.
