I am so happy that Condiment opened! Fair Food stopped selling my ketchup and I needed a new substitute. If you want fresh ingredients and condiments that don't contain any hard-to-pronounce-bad-for-you chemicals, then please come to Condiment. Friendly owner Elizabeth explained to me how everything is freshly made and you can get daily "mix-ins" with the different condiments available. Mustard, ketchup, mayo, jellies/jams, and they also have pastries and fresh made butter! You can sample anything and the three things I did were great. The ketchup is meant to rival a super large ketchup producer and the taste is spot on to that brand. The strawberry and raspberry jams were outstanding from the small tastes I had. Elizabeth said they purchase a lot of their ingredients from the RTM including the Fair Food Farmstand. She also mentioned when I asked that the products will last for some time in the refrigerator. I'm certain they will be gone very soon at my house! You can purchase 8 or 16oz portions, and for a little more you can get a squeeze bottle. I got those and if I bring them back, they'll refill them (still have to pay, though)! I believe it is $6.99 for the 16oz size and another buck and change for the squeeze bottles. I'm so glad I work nearby. Hope they start a frequent buyer program...come to think of it, I wish the Valley Shepherd Creamery did, too. I'll be back. Definitely! read more

A really great place in Reading Terminal to come for some gourmet sauces, butters, and Condiments, etc! I love to come here after I have picked up steaks at a butcher and either get a butter that has herbs and other cool things in it or have them marinate my meat while I shop around. Yes, that is right, they will marinate your meat while you shop! Just buy your meat, bring it to Condiment, and they will put together a delicious marinade for you while you shop! Just pick it up before you leave and you are all set! I also really like their pot pies, roasted eggplant, and other pre-made items to grab for an easy meal. Their sauces, condiments, dips, and butters are so good, it is hard not to buy everything in sight! They are a little pricey, but it honestly is so worth it! Everything is so fresh and yummy. You can find almost any condiment here, and if you don't see it, the staff is so friendly and helpful, I feel like they would see what they could do to help. Went to Reading Terminal Market on a Sunday for the 1st time. Big mistake EXCEPT for going to Condiment! I was very frazzled and annoyed when I arrived at this stand but the person behind the counter was very kind & helpful. I told him my normal weekly menu - 2 days chicken, 2 days pork 1 day turkey and rice. I wanted some different flavors since my usual italian to mexican was boring. He suggested their homemade duck sauce for the chicken to use as a glaze. A bacon walnut pesto for the turkey & rice. A bourbon glaze for the pork chops. He even printed me some menus & suggested sides. We also bought 3 of the infused butters and a nice tub of habanero pimento cheese. I cant wait to go back and find new flavors to enhance our weeknight cooking! read more

I stopped by just by chance and sampled some awesome roasted eggplant ( it has just a hint of spice at the end) and pimento cheese spread. And just for good measure, I threw in some sea salt crackers. I got home and tried the crackers. I could not stop eating them!! Besides the awesome customer service, the "condiments" are great! I hit Reading Terminal every time I'm in Philly, it's a wonderland of food that offers something new every time I visit and this time I found Condiment. I think my eyes glazed over at all the options at the counter: pesto, mayo, cocktail sauce, ketchup, BBQ, ranch, harissa, mustard, pasta sauce, something arugula based; and then my eyes landed on something that was simply labeled "Schwifty". Mind you, this was the week McDonald's had released like 5 packets of their long discontinued goddamn Mulan Szechuan sauce for an entire country of Rick and Morty fans. In case you hadn't heard about it, it didn't go so great. My eyes lit up. I ended up speaking to the guy who makes the sauces and he told me it was his take on the McDonald's product. He looked up the ingredients and then tinkered, the result being something that tastes REALLY great! Sweet, spicy, tangy, similar to a teriyaki but so much better. And we did go to McDonalds and order some nuggets, and the nuggets were still gross, but his sauce really made them shine. I can't say what the McDonald's version tastes like, but this is delicious even without the hype or back story, just a solid product. Cook with it! I plan on using it on fried chicken. I don't think there are preservatives, I bought a bunch and froze it. The other sauces are great too, I also bought some harissa and their cocktail ketchup. The two people I met who worked there were friendly and passionate about food, we must have talked for 20 minutes. They also didn't cut me off from sampling as many sauces as I wanted- go nuts! read more

Yum! I love that I can buy high quality spreads for an affordable price while also supporting a local business. You can try any spread you like and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I got their hummus and it's delicious! Its so creamy and flavorful for only $4. Same price as sabra and much better. I'm eager to try many of their other dips and sauces because they sound delicious! Condiment's veggie lasagna just changed my life The staff is so friendly and helpful - I talked through several product options before choosing one of their "heat and eat" premade meals. The veggie lasagna was so hearty with veggies and cheese and I couldn't get enough. They say it's portioned for 2 but I definitely have enough for a 3rd portion. It came in an oven safe tray to pop right in the oven which made clean up a breeze. One thing I would add might be cooking instructions on the container. They told me at the counter what to do but I forgot so just guessed...it turned out great either way and I will definitely be getting it again soon! read more

This place is my secret weapon when I host dinner parties. Everything is fresh an amazing. Want to make your scrambled eggs amazing - add their Toum garlic or Harrissa. Want to upgrade your salad try their Balsamic dressing or their honey chipotle. Marinade meats or have pulled pork that people want again try their Swifty sauce. I got a couple on a whim for a party a year ago and it disappeared as soon as people discovered it on the table. And I've kept going back for it ever since. Update after my third visit: I was able to get the Buffalo and buttermilk ranch as I hoped. I made chicken wings and they were delicious. Both sauces paired very well. The Buffalo sauce is thick and creamy at first, but becomes more watery when heated. It's great, like regular Buffalo sauce but better. The buttermilk ranch was phenomenal. They let you try tiny spoonfuls (like a cute lil gelato spoon), and I was actually amazed at how sweet and creamy it was! They make their own butter (which they use to make this), and it was great. After I tried it, I told the employee, "okay, I'm gonna need an 8oz container of this." Looking back on it, I probably should've only gotten the 2oz cup since I used a little on top of my Buffalo wings (it's a shame they don't offer a 4oz) because I don't plan on using it as a salad dressing, only as a dip for my Buffalo wings. I also found out they have over 100 (maybe closer to 150 but I forget the exact number) different recipes and it rotates, so they go through over half that in a week. I think the Buffalo might be something they always have, though, because it's kept in the bottom of the case in what appears to be already filled 8oz containers. Though I think I recall them pouring a new 8oz container for me. I think the buttermilk ranch is one of the recipes that rotates because it was kept in more of a cup at the top of the case without 8oz containers already filled. I've also had the pimento, "Schwifty" sauce (Szechuan inspired BBQ sauce from the cartoon Rick and Morty), pineapple salsa (a bit spicy, I think they might use hot peppers?), special fry sauce (strong vinegar taste), and bourbon glaze. Everything is always way better than grocery store condiments. I've made some very delicious meals at home without a recipe, and I attribute at least half of the deliciousness to the Condiments. Really great! It's right in the center of the market so hard to miss! Staff is very knowledgable and nice, and I loved the enchilada sauce I bought for home. I can't say enough good things about this place! Condiment is exactly what the Terminal, and Philly, needed. Not only is everything super tasty and fresh, but Elizabeth and Jason and their staff are SO kind and friendly. They are excited for you to try their creations and answer all of your questions about what lime curd is used for and why would I buy something called toum. (Toum, by the way, is a Lebanese garlic sauce. It's amazing and I buy it regularly now.) Condiment honestly changed how I eat! Elizabeth told me to try replacing peanut butter with their tahini sauce and it has upped my snacking game tenfold. Condiment is a fantastic addition to the Reading Terminal. If you're a home cook it's great for grabbing ingredients to enhance whatever you are making. If you don't cook you can get help putting together a fabulous meal. As a home cook myself, I like to stop by to pick up a new sauce for fun or just pick up something to use with dinner. The customer service here is knowledgeable and helpful. They can recommend something to use based on your ingredients and they're always spot-on. Things I've purchased to date: Nuoc Cham Vietnamese sauce (fabulous on fish), Toum sauce (great on grilled steak and everything else as well as an excellent mayo substitute), blueberry preserves, hand-rolled butter, ready-to-roll pie crust dough, and my absolute favorite: spicy pimento cheese. I can't wait to try other things like the homemade ketchup, jerk seasoning.... I could on and on. They also have a marinating service which I will be using soon.
