All of us loved the seafood udon, which was not overcooked and had a good bite to the noodles and was deliciously garlicky and creamy. The mala chicken bowl has great umami with the slight numbing of the peppercorn sauce. The chicken remained very crispy and honestly, the rice was cooked to perfection. The beef bowl was equally flavorful and tender. The cucumber salad was refreshing and had a dressing that was unique. We came to TingTing's looking for a Hong Kong-style café, but it turned out to be more of an Italian-Asian fusion restaurant. The food was decent overall, and the combo meals were a pretty good value for the price. One thing to note--the char siu (叉燒) was more like braised fatty pork rather than the traditional Cantonese-style roasted char siu we were expecting. They have pasta dishes, traditional Cantonese rice dishes, brunch-style fancy roasts, wings, and other Hong Kong café-style comfort food. I ordered the pepper steak pasta and WOW. This honestly blew me out of the water. The sauce was super creamy, almost like it was cooked with milk, with a nice peppery flavor that wasn't overpowering. They were also VERY generous with the meat. The portion was huge. I couldn't finish it and easily got about two meals out of it. My friend ordered the braised beef over rice, which was much more traditional. Tender braised beef with that savory, rich sauce soaking into the rice. Very comforting and exactly the kind of simple Cantonese-style dish you want when you're craving something hearty. I almost ordered the seafood udon too, so I guess I'll have to come back for that. The whole menu reminds me of that early-2000s Hong Kong café style where Western food gets mixed with Asian flavors. It's very reminiscent of that period of Hong Kong's food culture, where you could have a creamy pasta alongside a traditional rice dish and somehow it all made perfect sense. It's a fun mix of familiar Western flavors with a distinctly Hong Kong twist. Staff were fast, attentive, and really nice. Our food came out quickly, and the portions were definitely not stingy. I did take off a star because the HVAC was leaking outside the bathroom and the floor was FLOODED. Parking in Chinatown has always been a pain so when me and partner saw that there was a promo if you dined at participating restaurants you would get a voucher for discounted parking, we decided to try TingTing's only to find out after that they ran out of vouchers. Food was decent nothing spectacular, they give a lot of rice to make it seem the portions are bigger than they are. The service is a bit confusing, it's a mix of self serve and being served. Had the Kobe style smash burger which is just bursting with flavor. Two great beef patties with lettuce and tomato. Throw on a piece of tempura bacon. Slather with spicy mayo, and I believe a soy glaze was in there too. This is probably one of the least adventurous foods on the menu, but still absolutely unique and delish, and far better than many burgers at restaurants that specialize in meats/burgers! A friend and I came in for dinner while in town. They have a unique twist to the flavors of their food. The wings were good, but out of the two flavors the soy glazed was the best. She ordered one and I ordered the other flavor. The baked creamy seafood was also really good and the portion size was big. I originally came here for the squid ink pasta which was sold out :( However, the creamy rod udon was still really good and satisfied my pasta craving. I didn't really enjoyed the calamari as I prefer much bigger ring and the texture of the calamari isn't the best. The sauce was okay but hardly spicy. I am lactose-intolerant and I finished every bite of this seafood squid ink spaghetti pasta, because it was absolutely so yummy! It was super creamy, rich, and the noodles were nicely al dente, definitely worth the experience. Also, they're very generous with their portions. I came here with my friend and we also got their Sichuan style calamari, which had a nice unique kick to it, and still as crispy. I'm so glad I did, because I had a great experience. The restaurant was very clean and they were playing Asian music so fly through the speakers, creating a peaceful atmosphere. I was the only diner during my meal, but that didn't stop my waitress from checking on me periodically and making sure I was taken care of. I ended up ordering the Hong Kong scrambled egg sandwich and the Hong Kong style French toast. Both were really good, but I was most interested in trying the French toast. Ting Ting's Cafe is the current restaurant at this location (to reduce many confusion I have been hearing the chinatown community using yelp and google) Ting Ting's Cafe features a unique blend on Hong Kong cuisine into their Asian fusion mix. My parents grew up in Hong Kong and I would go frequently as a kid every other year to visit my grandparents there. My parents would share with me their experience when it still a British colony and how their influence blended into their food and cuisine. Anyone remember Ovaltine? Haha. Ting Ting's was nostalgic trying some of the dishes including the pineapple tomato cheese and porkchop dish that I also once had at a cafe in Hong Kong. Since I didn't grow up in Hong Kong, I wouldn't have know how all these dishes are connected but it's a neat learning experience and way to strike up convo with the chef if you're interested as well! Highly recommend. The staff is wonderful. I have yet to try all the dishes but it is my goal. I will have to give out a shout to how amazing their Hong Kong Milktea is! They go the extra mile and do the multiple steeping process giving the depth of the true milk tea taste that you can't get anywhere else in this chinatown. I crave and go back to ting tings just for this! It really hit home for me if you're looking for a traditional Hk milktea. I'm not sure when was this changed from a dessert shop to a HK western style cafe but I just lunched here today and the food was pretty good. Very favoring, yet at the same time very saucy and stuffed. I ordered their hot HK style milk tea, which I think does taste stronger than other milk tea and close to HK style. You add your own sugar to your level or sweetness though. I will probably try their cold one next time. I also ordered the Black pepper beef spaghetti and the Pork chop gratin with pineapple tomato sauce (rice). Both were pretty good. The spaghetti was very saucy and as you eat you will feel really stuffed. The pork chop rice has a bit strong pineapple taste which i feel it took over the tomato taste, but not that bad. Dinner at TingTing's was a fun time! Even on a freezing Wednesday, the place was hopping (always a good sign!). Service is still finding its groove, but the staff were super friendly. The vibe and menu variety were the highlights. My "Black Char Siu Rice Bowl w Fried Eggs & Yu Choy 太阳蛋黑叉烧饭" was tasty, but a bit too salty and had some temperature inconsistencies (cold to lukewarm). Probably due to the new kitchen operations juggling dine-in and takeout orders and getting used to the pace. It was still quite tasty and I could tell it was cooked properly when originally made though! I'm definitely going back to try more rice dishes--especially the pork, tomato, and PINEAPPLE one! It's called "Pork Chop Gratin with Pineapple Tomato Sauce 芝士焗炸猪扒饭" FYI, the owners also run the popular Chinatown spot Emei, so I have high hopes for TingTing's! I'll say I think the food that we got overall was done quite well. It in the end is just not my favorite cuisine so it's not a place I would necessarily come back. But it is certainly worth trying and you may find yourself enjoying it a lot. The menu can be a bit limiting as a LOT of it is spaghetti, which I wasn't interested in. We started with the popcorn chicken, which was a really airy piece of chicken that I appreciated. I wish the sauce were ever so slightly thicker. But the seasoning was nice and the portion plentiful. The char siu scallion omelette over rice was nice. The sauce was a bit lighter than I would expect but it there is a good amount of meat mixed in, which was nice. The black char siu rice bowl was probably my favorite. The egg was perfectly runny over the rice and the char siu was nicely done. A good amount of fat with less meat but I didn't necessarily mind it. We also got the Hong Kong style French toast. I had no idea there would be peanut butter in this so that was jarring in the best way. We almost didn't get this because (clearly) we got too much food but it's apparently one of their most popular dishes and I'm glad we stuck through. The flavoring overall is a bit on the simpler side and I would've liked something a bit heavier-hitting, but I think this is in line with what the cuisine is supposed to be. We didn't have trouble getting a table at lunch on a Sunday but they do ask if you have a reservation, making me think maybe it gets a bit busier. Service was super friendly. read more

Phenomenal food always! They are on a short hiatus as of January 2024 but keep checking to see when they re-open. They close earlier than most places, say around 6:30pm. I passed this place a few times on the way to my car park and it was so lovely I resolved to go in for a late lunch one day. The Restaurant is so beautiful inside. Clean and elegant and lovely, and the waitress was very welcoming. She seemed to be by herself but no one had to wait. Kudos to her for really making it a lovely experience. I had the Seafood Spaghetti with Squid Ink Sauce, the Yu Choy in Oyster Sauce, and a very yummy Milk Tea with Coffee. I really love the menu here, which you can see beautifully detailed with pictures on their website. It has those sort of Italian-Asian Pasta Dishes you see in Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. The dishes I tried were much more subtly flavored than I expected, I sort of blame myself cause I did smoke for 10 years. Seafood Spaghetti with Squid Ink Sauce: Pasta and Seafood were perfectly cooked, The clams were absolutely the star of this. It's a challenge for a dish that needs to be quick to serve like pasta for 3 different proteins to come together so well at the same time. But I did miss the Salinity of the Squid Ink and that lovely ocean aroma, I also could have done with some pepper but was to shy to ask for some. That's on me! Yu Choy in Oyster Sauce: the Yu choy was beautiful and fresh with lovely texture and a vibrant green color. I personally adore the salty funky flavor of Oyster sauce and garlic, but I could only taste the Yu Choy. I'm not sure if they watered it down for tourist palates since the flower show was in town that weekend or what. Perhaps that's just the style. Also No alcohol here, a lot of places seem to be BYOB, but I don't understand how that works yet. TLDR: Beautiful little Cafe with fun beautiful food. I want to go back and try more things, I think I probably just accidentally ordered two of the more mild things on the Menu. Love coming to TingTing's. The food, service and ambiance are all really great. The staff are very nice and prompt. Ambiance is very relaxed and chill. The menu selection is very wide and offer pretty unique entrees. This past visit I tried the Seafood Spaghetti and the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. The spaghetti was very delicious. It was very creamy and a healthy portion mix of the seafood which is great. The milk tea was also very good, first time trying Hong Kong style, tasted like there's condensed milk in the milk tea. This happened at another restaurant in Chinatown too. Read WSJ and see how people nowadays are with tipping. Because after pandemic, tipping has gone to a total different level that you buy water and you tip $1 at cafes. If you have not been to TingTing's Cafe for a little while, you are in for a surprise! Unfortunately, it is not a pleasant one! It is a BIG disappointment! After I chose my table, the server told me I had to go to the counter to place my order! The new menu has limited selection! Probably less than 25% of the old selections! I had to choose another dish because when I was looking forwarded to have was no longer there! And the surprise did not end there! In addition to the cold lemon tea, I asked for a cup of water with ice; I was told water was no longer available, I had to buy bottled water! When my food finally came, I had to go to the counter to retrieve my own food! Food was served in a plastic container with a plastic fork! I no longer saw any dessert at the counter! The whole experience was very disappointing! I felt I was eating at a fast food place! I was told this new style was the idea from the owner! I used to like to go to TingTing's every now and then! If this management style persists, I will no longer go to this cafe! That might explain why I was the only customer when I first arrived and by the time I left, only another table was occupied by 4 customers! It used to be more crowded! We ordered the Spicy Chicken Cutlet Sandwich, Kobe style smashed burger (no picture), and the Hong Kong Style French toast. We were very disappointed because it didn't look anything remotely like the pictures online. The French toast didn't have much flavor and sweetness, it was very eggy tasting and very small. Both sandwiches & fries were bland, they didn't even use a pineapple bun, and the sauce on the chicken was not spicy at all. We didn't think the food was worth the price.
