Sure enough, he showed up when he said he would, and here were the first words out of his mouth: "I'm not going to take your money, I just want to help you." His name is Junior and he owns the company. He assembled my pressure washer very quickly and told me he repairs roofs, he paints, he cleans gutters, and he repairs leaks in addition to pressure-washing. It was about 5:15pm when he finished and told me he had three more jobs to do that night before he could get home to his wife and two little boys. So I'm writing this because people like Junior deserve the same kindness he offers-and I hope everyone who reads this will think of him when they need some house maintenance & repair. Decided to do the full tear off, got an estimate for $6700 and he thought that it would be another $240 for ply sheeting replacement. Turned out to be about double that, which set me back a tick as I was pushing it at $7000 anyway. As for the job? I think they did a good job - my house is 3 stories so I can't really see what they did. They did warranty their work for 2 years and the material is limited lifetime, so we'll see. I did stop by on my lunch hour during the work and they did have everything torn off. Time will tell whether or not the work is high quality. But I do have high hopes that even if it's not they will stand behind their work.

D&D Construction just finished the *third* roofing job we hired them for in the past five years…read more D&D put a high quality metal roof on our Olympia home, and then another on our new home after we moved. This latest project was a barn roof replacement, also moving from shingles to metal roofing. Here's why we keep coming back to D&D: First, they do consistently good work. All three times, we worked with the same project coordinator and crew leader. The work was thorough and, once it got going, was finished in a reasonable time. Second, their prices are very competitive. D&D does a lot of large scale commercial and municipal projects, so they have access to bulk rates on materials. Their bids were never the highest, and were sometimes the lowest. Great value for the cost! One caveat for small projects like ours: because D&D does mostly large projects, you will need to be flexible with scheduling. They are likely fitting you in between some bigger jobs, as time becomes available. If you can roll with that, then you will get great work, good materials, and the security of having metal over your head instead of shingles. We looked at other options for our roof jobs, but D&D keeps rising to the top of the list. Highly recommended for metal roof replacements!

He is very knowledgeable on all different aspects of remodeling, but leaves more difficult electrical and plumbing work to other experts on his team. Mark was also great on giving a good time estimate, leaving the jobsite as clean as possible, and being very flexible during the construction process if we wanted to change or add something. We purchased a lot of the main design materials (ie. vanities, cabinets, toilets, showers, hardware, etc) ahead of the work in order to take advantage of sales and purchase exactly what we wanted.
