This cute pub is divided into three areas to accommodate everyone's fun visit. The bar area has…read morehigh top tables for enjoyable get togethers, while thru the open door way are low top tables which aid in providing a more intimate atmosphere. There is also a big patio area which is wonderful for a warm spring day, or a cozy summer night. The menu contains unique items amongst its standard fare. We went with the "Polish bowl", the " Italian bowl" and the cheesesteak. The Polish bowl contained pirogies that would rival any church lent takeaway. Accompanying them was kielbasa, sauerkraut, bacon, with side of sour cream and butter. Large portions, delicious taste. The Italian bowl consisted of four enormous meatballs. The flavor reminded me of my mom's who was taught by her neighbor who was from Italy. So very delectable. I took two of the four home and made two meatball subs from them- again, so enormous. The Grumpy Beaver does not skimp on quantity, but maintains a very high level of quality. The cheesesteak equaled two you would receive from anywhere else. The inclusion of sirloin, Swiss cheese accompaniment, and the local Mancini bakery bread ( long roll) will stand against anything you get from Philly. This was scrumptious. For dessert we chose a Dubai torte, and a banana peanut butter pie. Both did not let us down, with the heavenly flavor exploding in each bite. Our waitress Gabby was sweet and very accommodating. We will be back, and you should try it!

As for their catered food, I am totally biased. I have been chasing chef Greg Powell around Beaver County for ages, wherever he is cooking up his food. I was delighted he is the kitchen genius at the Grumpy Beaver Pub. From start to finish, it was a smooth running event space experience!

The best gravy I have ever had in my LIFE. Seriously, I am still thinking about it…read more I got the toad in the hole, and my husband got the shepherd's pie, and when I tell you I have found some of my new favorite food in all of Pittsburgh, I mean it. Everything was absolutely incredible, and I genuinely cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu. And the whiskey chocolate pot de creme was the perfect way to end an amazing meal. My only complaint? The Scotch eggs only came with 2 halves. I could have happily eaten more! The staff was incredibly friendly, and while there was a bit of a wait for the food, that's understandable when the food is this good. Trust me, it is SO worth it! The atmosphere is very much a casual pub vibe, with multiple TVs broadcasting football games, so it's a great spot to grab a meal, watch a game, and enjoy some seriously amazing comfort food. Honestly, I'm already planning my next visit. If you're looking for a new favorite spot in Pittsburgh, this place needs to be on your list!

The Scotch Egg was great; a lot of substance for around $10. We liked the dipping sauce a lot. I got the Fish and Chips: among the best I've had. I couldn't give five stars as it got a little soggy as I ate it but the portion was massive, and the chips were great, etc. If they could get the filet a bit crunchier it would earn five stars. Inside was busy with most tables full but the service remained really good.

I will still rate this as 5 stars however on our second visit we brought our son and his fiancé…read more Two of us ordered fish and chips. I was expecting the large pieces we got last time. This time they were more nugget size. Shepherd's Pie still good but less meat. And those cocktails on the back of the menu without prices are $11.48. So the food was tasty but dont exoect the exact same thing even if you order the same thing. Still when we are in town, I am coming here.

There seemed to be some of the fun pub-banter with the regulars that came in and there was sport on the TV, which even the staff was giving attention to. Could we have ordered more drinks and stayed a while? Yes. However, the game was particularly exciting so the staff was slightly distracted. Not a cut on the pub, it just made it feel more authentic. American's are spoiled with the service we get out and don't realize what it's like in the rest of the world. I thoroughly enjoyed my bangers and mash. Could have used fresher potatoes, but they weren't busy enough to run through them fast enough to keep it fresh (a Thursday evening). Smothered in gravy and bang-on bangers? Who the h€ll cares? We'll back for a pint and a bite.

Wings are good!. Ambiance is great, inside or outside…read more Service is very good. The waitresses are excellent. If you order wings always ask for extra sauce, the wet flavor wings come out too dry. They're too skimpy on the sauce for some reason ? Also, not sure why...but the wing basket of celery and carrots comes out like 10min before the wings. Pictured: Patrick's hot - It's got some heat... but very edible. Catches up after a few. Blu cheese is ok. It's got nice chunks but the dressing side is very lite Cheers!

Not sure why I expected anything different when we went there today. Today's experience: Our server took our order in a very reasonable timeframe, but we waited close to 50 minutes for our food to arrive. And this was on a weekday; they were busy but not packed. No one came by to provide any kind of explanation. When the food finally arrived, my fries were cold and we had to ask twice for refills on our beverages. We had to go to the bar to get utensils and napkins because the server never brought them. As we were leaving, a couple at another table had just gotten their food and had the same problem-- they needed utensils and napkins. This isn't the first time we've experienced very slow service at Patrick's Pub. I don't know what the issue is, but I'm sorry to say I probably won't ever go back to Patrick's for a meal.
