My default when I don't feel like being disappointed…read more @thepubat333 is that easy "let's just go to..." and no one argues it because it just...works. There's enough going on menu-wise that everyone figures it out, and I'm not exaggerating-every single time I've been there since they opened, someone at the table orders a French dip. Every. time. It's basically part of the experience now. Also if I see pierogi, I'm ordering pierogi. That's just who I am. Could've taken down the entire plate without blinking but I shared like a respectable adult (meanwhile mentally tracking which ones were supposed to be mine). It's just a laid back, neighborhood spot that doesn't try to be anything crazy and still ends up being exactly what you wanted. Fun fact: my friend and I once prank called from their landline, the owner immediately called back, we answered like nothing happened, and yeah...the phone was no longer an option for us after that

Bar seating was almost full with only a couple seats. Heard good things about their pizza too. There's free parking in the lot (although small). Shout out to our bartender Ange! The black and bleu shrimp was absolutely amazing. It's got blackened spice and has this creamy sauce that makes you go dip for more (I need that recipe honestly). If I had some bread, I'd definitely use this as a dip lol. We got the thin crust Sicilian pizza to share. The pizza unfortunately was very wet and kind of soggy. I think they could have waited to let it rest for a few min before serving because it would especially show when we were separate the slices and try to take one off the plate. I don't usually want my toppings and cheese to just slide off the pizza. Also since we were at a bar w/ some of the games going on, we wanted wings and got their crispy whole wings in a dry spice rub. They were pretty big wings and well seasoned -- not too spicy though if that's not your vibe.

4.5 stars. Off the Rails Barbeque and Drafthouse is a local, family-owned and -operated restaurant…read morethat serves barbecued meats, sides, sandwiches, alcoholic beverages, and more for lunch, dinner, and catering for dining in, pickup, and delivery. Their website says that they use ingredients from local farms and suppliers and make their foods fresh daily. Outside the restaurant are the smokers that they use to slow-cook the meats. The brisket and pork are said to be smoked for 12-14 hours. My husband and I ate at this restaurant years ago, but for some reason my previous review is not here. We liked Off the Rails then and still like it. Most recently, we ordered the BBQ Sampler Platter, which consisted of a 1/2 pound of brisket, 1/2 pound of pulled pork, 1/2 pound of pulled chicken, 1/2 rack of St. Louis ribs, and choice of three sides. I rate the flavors of each of these meats at 5 stars and the flavors of the mac-n-cheese, baked beans, and crispy Brussels sprouts as 4.5 stars each. The pulled pork and pulled chicken came with three bread buns to make sandwiches. I saw three house-made sauces--Carolina Gold, Kansas City, and Lexington-style Mop--and they tasted very good. The ribs were not pull-off-the-bone, but they were probably the first batch of the day. We had arrived 40 minutes after their opening time. An employee had tried to get us to substitute the ribs with another meat, but we instead decided to wait about 20 minutes for the ribs to be done. We also ordered Smoked Fried Wings, which have many available dry rubs and sauces, but we got the house seasoning with no sauce. An employee said a chupacabra rub. These wings tasted fantastic and were the best food of our meal. We LOVED their crispy and delightfully seasoned skin and their juicy insides. I do not have a receipt, but the total price for our foods and one soda should have been just under $100 plus a tip. We had leftovers and put those in large and small plastic containers that I had brought from home. (Other reviewers said that customers are not allowed to take home leftovers, but we went on a day with no special prices, and we had enough leftovers for two more meals at home!) We loved the wings so much that on "wing night" a few days later, we returned for the wings and some other sides. On Wednesdays the restaurant charges only $1 per wing. We ordered the allowed maximum of 6 wings, which we again LOVED, as well as spicy collard greens (4 stars), coleslaw (with little dressing, 3.5 stars), and cornbread (4.5 stars). Note that live music is played on certain days of the week.

This is a very efficient way to run a roadside barbecue. Orders can be placed from your table by QR…read morereader or at register with the friendly staff. Food and drinks are ready in just a few minutes and the dining area is ample with clean tables and clean floors. An upgrade of plastic utensils would be appreciated however. The chili was especially good as was the pork BBQ sandwich. Prices were reasonable to add to the experience. Parking can be a problem but there is some to be found on the other side of the street but lacks a crosswalk so be very careful.

Did we listen? Not before, but now that we have been there, we can't wait to go back. From the outside, Carnivores looks like a dive bar. But au contraire, the place is actually NOT a dive bar at all. It's definitely a nice local restaurant/bar that has a Cheers vibe. Several of the tables had Reserved signs on them and I figured out that groups of people must have been gathering for NCAA Championship. Nevertheless, we were seated quickly and our orders were taken quickly and we were served piping hot food quickly. Fresh cut fries are one of my weaknesses and I couldn't resist ordering them along with the Jimbo sub which has shaved ribeye steak, hot sausage, provolone, mushrooms, onions and lettuce and tomatoes. Definitely a delicious gut-buster! And the fresh cut fries? Yeah, it was a boss move to order those to go with! If you're a beer drinker, this place is also for you because they have 8,000 different types of brands. Seriously, you can get your beer on with quite a number of varieties. We will definitely come back because of the fresh cut fries and affordable prices.

It's beside Cafe Monaco and if it's busy good luck finding a spot nearby. I went mid day on a Sunday and after some circling the block found a nearby spot. I think the venue itself is very nice. It's fresh looking and inviting. Because it was one of the warm days recently they had the whole front opened up and that was nice. It seems to have a hometown client base, I say that because everyone seemed to know each other or at least someone else there. They had a food truck setting up when I was there but I don't try it. The selection, while not huge was solid. I decided to try a DIPA and a TIPA and both were decent. The folks working were accommodating. If I get back over that way I'll be sure to stop by and try another drink or two.

The staff is extremely friendly, offering quick service and great recommendations. There were non-alcoholic options for those who did not drink in our party. This locally owned and operated spot is located in the River Town Shopping Center at 148 Allegheny River Boulevard, Freedom Square Diner is a staple for locals in Verona, and the whole area. They opened in 2013, expanding from its original Cranberry Township location, and has since carved out a niche by focusing on breakfast and lunch with a warm, community-centered approach that works. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed and the cozy coffee counter near the entrance adds to the charm. The place is busy but still friendly and familiar, I mean I love a diner vibe ! The menu is extensive and IMO breakfast is the star of the show, with standout items like the Create Your Own Omelette, the Hungryman Breakfast off a nice spread of eggs, bacon, pancakes, and home fries, that's what Matt O. had and he's now a fan. I had the Nutella French Toast that was like a homage to Elvis with bananas, strawberries and lots of sweet goodness, it was special! I also got a side of sausage gravy and biscuit to share, and these Yinzers actually nailed this Southern favorite. For lunch, the Whale of a Fish Sandwich is a big favorite here, it's hand-breaded haddock on a hoagie roll with tartar sauce and fries. Other popular dishes include the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, the Steak Salad with garlic-marinated filet, and the Mushroom Swiss Burger with crispy fries. They even have Homemade clam chowder, I will definitely scope that out on my next visit. The diner has wheelchair-accessible entrances, outdoor dining, takeout, and offers a veterans discount, gotta love it! Bottom line: Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast, a nostalgic lunch, or just a good cup of coffee in a welcoming setting, Freedom Square Diner delivers. Good food, great service in a welcoming environment, it's highly recommended!!! Hours: Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
