Lovely weather and everything is…read moreset up in downtown Pleasant Hill so there's ample space and it doesn't feel crowded like many festivals can get. The wine & beer glasses are normal sized and the pours are generous! This is a big plus. I've been to art and wine festivals where it's mini wine glasses, which is a bummer. There's a kid area with a rock wall and those water bubbles they can get inside of. Frankly those bubbles are a claustrophobic persons worst nightmare *raises hand*. Individual tickets and glasses are $7. Premium wine/beer tix are $12. I like that there's ample free parking in the area. No need to shuttle in. And it felt relaxed all throughout the day, lots of families were there enjoying the music. I would like to see the porta potties cleaned more frequently because they got gnarly and another music stage would be awesome! A cover band with some modern music would be nice.

Really nice annual art & wine festival in Lafayette that takes place every September. We've…read moreattended several years, and it's always a nice time. The festival covers a couple of blocks of Mt. Diablo Blvd, and a large part of Lafayette Circle. They manage to pack a lot into this space, including art, craft, and jewelry vendors, lots of wine and beer options, and better food than other art & wine festivals we've been to. This year we finally got the chance to try Cousins Maine Lobster, who had a truck at the event. This probably deserves a separate review, but the lobster grilled cheese was SO good. The Roundup bar is in the center of all the action too, and is nice to pop into if you want to get a drink and some shade. Word to the wise, the sun is unforgiving in Lafayette this time of year, so sunscreen, a sun hat, and/or a sun umbrella (don't judge me) are a must. Free all-day parking in the BART parking lot a short walk away. Wear sun protection, be prepared for a crowd, and enjoy! See you next year, Lafayette Art & Wine.

I love that this is right in the middle of downtown Clayton. This was you can enjoy the local businesses as well. At the festival my favorite booths were the olive oil and vinegar where I bought four bottles it was that good! Nice that they gave out samples to try. The other booth I really liked was the toffee. Omg that stuff was good. All the vendors were nice as well as all the volunteers. I loved how they offered beer to drink as well. I am not a fan of wine so I'm glad i was still included! We also tried out the food court where I shared crab fries and a crab roll with my boyfriend. This was just ok. Loved the live music to sit and watch. Overall had an amazing day at the festival!

I've really grown a strong love for beer; particularly for wheat, sour, saison, kolsch and pretty much anything on the lighter and less hoppier end. What's nice about this festival is that you get to explore a variety and try so many different beer types. With over 60 different breweries on deck, you won't be able to taste them all. This makes sense as this isn't really the point (well... at least not for most people who come here). You get to try some new beers (some unreleased) and some popular favorites. It's also a great way to discover some local breweries that you may not have heard of before. Went with a group of friends and we had an absolute blast. The line to get in looked pretty long when I first arrived, but it moved seamlessly once they opened the gate around noon. We were greeted with a souvenir glass and made our way to the beer stands. The big names like Lagunitas and Russian River Brewing weren't present, but most people have either tried their beers or at least heard of them before. They're so big now that they really don't need to "advertise" at brew fests at this stage of the game. We tried LOTS of beer and for the most part, it was all pretty tasty. There were a few that really stood out to me that I have to mention because they were so damn good! *Old Caz Beer Orange Crush Imperial Sour: INSANELY scrumptious! Went back three times for this and ended up finishing the last of it. I have never heard of an Imperial Sour before but absolutely LOVED it. It's like a slightly sour, nutty, crispy, and fruity flavor. Looked up Old Caz immediately and found out that they're in Rohnert Park. Already planning on visit their brewery soon! *Canyon Lakes Brewery G.I.R. Cucumber Wheat: Sooo refreshing!!! That cucumber though! Geezus! It was like heaven in my mouth. I would sip this down so quick on a hot day. This brewery is located on a golf course in San Ramon, so I already know that I'll be there soon to check it out. *Bartlett Brewing Invoking the Muse Mixed Ferm Saison: Amazing! A very oaty and wheat forward Saison which a smooth finish. Something that I'd easily order at a pub or brewery if I saw it on the menu. Also really enjoyed Firestone Walker's Cali Squeeze Blood Orange Hefeweizen and a lovely triple IPA from a brewery that I can't remember. Had sooo much beer, but these were ones that truly stood out to me. They had a good amount of food trucks out but my friends and I ended up dining at the Old Spaghetti Factory instead. When the event in 4 hours long, it makes sense to eat before, spend most of the time drinking, and then eating afterward to get the most bang for your buck. Although I must mention that I didn't have to pay to enter this year, thanks to my free ticket from Yelp East Bay! Woot woot! The live music was great and we met some really cool people. At one point, one of my friends starting serving beer to the other patrons. It was funny to watch but she was enjoying herself. The weather was great too which was awesome since it's been raining like crazy lately. All in all, I'm impressed! I have some new breweries to check out too now and I'm excited to make my way there. I will definitely be back next year and hopefully every year after that. Such a great local brew fest!

There are good festivals and bad festivals and this one is one of the best. Really well done and always has a lot of breweries. We prepay and get there early and get in first. For four hours we'll drink as much as we can. I've come across so many beers at this festival that I drink regularly. Nothing better than discovering a new great beer. Love the Hop Grenade home brewery tent too. Always buy the shirt. Since we cannot drive after slapping down 40 small beers (if we haven't taken an uber) we'll go to Spaghetti factory and get some ice cream for a bit. Super fun, very well run and one of the best beer festivals in California.

Now its no better than any pop-up carnival in a grocery store parking lot. I stuck with the chicken teriyaki bowl which was delicious & opened right at 11 AM. Great service at that foodie tent. Hibiscus cooler & mango slushy was also a winner at a different vendor tent. This park had the biggest playground we had ever seen. Lucky for families with children! Also a pond too! There were wine sampling & beer gardens for those interested. We found a shady area to listen to the music. I did lose my wife as she was wandering the park to check out the various craft vendors. She found one lady working there in the slim wallet tent who wore these beautifully patterned baggy pants that looked like they were from Thailand but probably from California some 30 years ago! Omgosh they are truly back in style! My wife was so jelly!!! I lucked out as she didn't spend a fortune on anything but food & drink. Whew what a relief! Trying to downsize! Like what is that??? There were very nice vendors there, some that I have never seen before. I know at least three of them have things for gifts I intend to buy. My only disappointment was where they had the beer booths. Some of my favorite breweries were on the outside area. Epidemic Ales you rock!!! Altamont brewery love ya. Calicraft brewery, I was happy to see you. I don't know if it was a local ordinance but there was beer inside the festival. But I wanted the ones on the outside area. Give them a try!!!

I saw an Instagram announcing the festival which happened to be on a weekend that wasn't going to be too hot. A perfect opportunity. The festival is in a location that is in the middle of several neighborhoods and the city allows parking on the north side of Treat. Even with the large crowds the parking is abundant in the nearby neighborhoods and on Treat. We parked a short less than 5 minute walk away. The festival had a variety of food: Teriyaki Chicken Meal, Beef Teriyaki, Gyoza, Tempura, Sushi, Hot Dogs, Shaved Ice and Desserts. They had games for the kids, tours of the temple and a gift shop. Unfortunately I had an unsettled stomach so I was only able to try the Teriyaki Beef and some Desserts. The beef was tasty, small pieces and cooked well done so a bit toward the drier side. The cookies and brownie were chewy and delicious. I also tried the peanut brittle which was light, buttery and not overly sweet. I'm looking forward to next year so I can try the Tempura and Gyoza along with the Desserts. Fun outdoor event with food that supports a worthy cause. No entrance or parking fees in an easily accessible venue.

They are next to El Molino (another participant) and I've never been inside before - I look forward to checking them out and getting some more of their awesome coffee. Sapore Restaurant was there also but I don't think they were sampling any fare. Habitat for Humanity's Restore store moved into the back of the bowling alley (they resized/downsized a couple years ago and made the huge building into two businesses). Had it not been for today's event I don't think I would have known there was a store there. They are surprisingly spacious and have lots of home goods from couches to refrigerators to toilet repair kits; counters, flooring, lighting, and more! At this event, they had a Wheel of Win with prizes, like flash lights and light bulbs. (Other sponsors of the event included Farmers Insurance, Dolan's Lumber, and Monument Impact.) Live music from the Lucid Rays (https://www.facebook.com/LucidRays/) was terrific and entertained festival-goers, as well as an appearance by Concord's Mayor Tim Grayson! There was a raffle for adults and games for children. Planned by the creative minds of the Monument Business Network, this was really a well-organized and fun community event for the residents of Concord. We really enjoyed all the food and will definitely be there for the 3rd Annual event next year!
