First of all I want say I'm very disappointed with this store for my very first time ever. Im constantly selling and buying my baby and toddler stuff and never have an issue. The owners and staff are super great people I love them all. But I recently went to sell some baby clothes in great to excellent conditions baby shoes with tags and toddler stuff, AND THEY BOUGHT MY STUFF FOR A VERY CHEAP PRICE which I was ok with because they sell their stuff for cheap. This was exactly what I was looking for. A wide variety of clothes and general baby items. Good amount of boys clothes but boys are always harder to find than girls. Amazing amount of strollers, carriers, diaper bags etc. The staff are wonderful. They helped me find exactly what I needed and helped me figure out how all the items worked before I bought them. This is my favorite kids resale store. The selling process is super easy and the employees are very nice. They also have a giant selection of new items; trendy baby gadgets, luxury diaper bags, and luxury baby carriers. It's such a great thing to basically swap out your kids clothes. I'll bring in all my daughter's stuff she outgrew, they buy some of it for store credit, and then I get to her stuff in a bigger size. Oh they also have a really good selection of "baby earrings". My only issue with them is their hold policy... long story short, they don't care if you're running late, if you miss the pick up time, you're SOL. I feel like they give a good amount of money for clothing. I have taken in a double stroller and got $25 I was pretty pleased cause I could not sell it any where! MUST READ! After i read all the reviews on here i figured "Hey they must be really good!". So I called, the lady who answered the phone seemed rushed and wanted to get off the phone quick.. mind you I'm calling to get information about how i can take my clothes in for resale. Some of you may recognize my name. I'm Torrie and I used to own Conceptions. I know it may be uncommon for former owners to make a review about their previous business, but I'd like to think many opinion counts too :) Im sure we all know a lot of business have their friends write some of their reviews anyways. I want to be honest and straight forward. If you think about it, employees / managers really know what is going on in that business and can give you the most direct and truthful description (if that person is honest and unbiased... which I consider my self to be.) I cant say much about the way other children's resale stores run, but I can tell you about this one. The new owners have done an amazing job giving this business new life. They were able to accomplish all the things we never had a chance to do. They always kept the customers in mind, kept the prices fair and extremely competitive all while continuing to make sure the store reaches all its possibilities. I love that it stayed family owened; grandma and grandpa help, dad comes in, mom stops by, the two sisters working side by side with the new baby greeting everyone with her cute grin. They have done everything respectfully, honestly and integratively. I'm personally impressed and hope that you will be too. Check out the new place, its way better than the old one. My review is for their new location which is AWESOME! They have a huge parking lot with plenty of parking, air conditioning inside, much more open spaces & better displays, LOT'S more room for more inventory. I have sold here twice already & it's still a pretty easy process. I have been to a few other baby retail locations in east county & Conceptions blows them out of the water with the prices they offer...Baby Exchange in La Mesa wanted to give me $7 cash or $11 store credit for my excellent condition Eddie Bauer Graco stroller, while Conceptions happily more than doubled my store credit. It's been about 3 years since I've visited Conceptions. I used to visit their old location on Mission Gorge when my 8 year old was a baby. I was in the shopping center the other day to get groceries and decided to check out their new location. It's PACKED full of goodies! I purchased two board games for my kids at $5 each that retail about $20-25 new on Amazon. I also found two cute pairs of pajamas for my 2 year old on the 99 cent clearance rack. Carters 2 piece pajama sets for $1! I only checked out the clearance rack since I was in a hurry, but they had an assortment of clothing racks that I will be going back to check out. read more

My experience here was great! The workers are nice and there are lots of items! I went specifically for clothes for my daughter and not only found exactly what I wanted, they were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on clothes! My biggest complaint is that it is located about 30 minutes away from me . Yes, they are very picky about what they buy, but what that translates to is that everything you find in the store is high quality. It is exceptional that they allow you to use store credit from what they bought from you for the retail items they offer from a lot of great brands like Melissa & Doug, Jujube, Zoli and much more. I am disappointed they don't seem to be continuing to restock Jujube items, because I've been buying Jujube from them for many years. Can you move to central San Diego? read more

Went to sell my daughters gently used items and it was done, quick and painless. The store is super organized and has a great selection.

I went there today for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted right off the bat, and the people there are extremely friendly and attentive. I experienced both the buying and selling process. I brought in a lot of clothing and toys, and although they only took about half (due to season, etc) they were very fair with the pricing, and shows they hold high standards for what their customers purchase (which is a good thing). My son also picked out a brand new, sealed, 60 piece Melissa and Doug puzzle for $6, which I found to be a great deal. Loved the layout they had, and how organized it was. This is a great little shop. I've driven by this strip mall many times without noticing, but now that we're expecting twins, it's a great place to get some baby gear. They have a nice mix of gently used items and new items. I scored a pregnancy pillow and some maternity clothes all for less than $40 on sale. Came here for the first time yesterday and it was awesome. It was 30 minutes before closing but the girls working did not seem to mind at all. Very polite and attentive, and didn't seem to mind my energetic 2 year old running around playing with the toys in the back. I came here because I needed warm clothes for my 9 month old who has grown out of all of his and my 2 year olds hand me downs have seem to disappeared. They have a good size rack towards the back of the store where I found a large selection of warm pajamas for my little man for only 99 cents, it was awesome. They have a great selection of clothing and sizes for very reasonable prices. They also have shoes, toys, cribs, strollers, etc....everything you could need. I will definitely be coming back again and again and will refer everyone I know to come here. I bought a brand new toddler mattress still in the bag and a large bag of baby clothes for only $60.00 can't beat the prices and the service was great, the employees were soooo nice. Don't waste your time on these type of people. I called in advance, from Coronado, and to ALL of the surrounding resale shops, (later) to my surprise, that they all conveniently now own... they all fed me the "yeah yeah we will work with you" crap. I drive over there with over $150.00 worth of nice things, and as you can imagine, paying Diesel fuel to get there. They offer me $10.00 for something that is worth a good $50-75.00. Granted I get the whole resale, everyone needs to make A profit, but don't feed me your crap about how hard it is for you to sell. I drove over there thinking it was an easier solution than marketing it myself. I was sooo wrong. These people then tell you there is an outside bin where you can "donate" your other items. Hummm really? I don't think I trust you to do that. You tell me that you will offer me a fair rate, and make me drive, knowing beforehand what you will offer me, which is rude as heck by the way, then tell me about a "donation" bin... how about NO. What makes me think you will donate it? You will just take those donated items for free and probably sell those to. I will take MY donations to a local church before you can have them.
