I had an employee physical today and Christina was with me thru the entire appointment. She was great. It was a very positive experience.

While the wait to see the doctor took about an hour, & the wait to get my paperwork finalized & prescription info afterwards took another hour was frustrating, I came to learn that is pretty normal at these types of clinics. The staff here was fantastic. They were so nice, so caring, & did everything they could to make sure I experienced as little pain as possible. I came in to get stitches on my finger, and as soon as I got there, a nurse took me back, cleaned up my wound, put a new bandage on, & then I went back to the lobby to wait. The nurses were awesome, joked around with me, made me feel comfortable. The surgeon was very friendly and personable. I would go out of my way to come back here. read more

I'm new to Austin but a long time migraine sufferer. So I definitely needed to find a place when a migraine struck and stayed for three days and I didn't want to go to the ER. Everyone has been wonderful from the front desk staff to the initial nurse/medical technician to Dr. Ybarra. I'll definitely return should I need to. And would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs one that doesn't have a regular PCP in the area. read more

I've been to many urgent care facilities in the Texas area (I travel a lot). This was by far my worst experience. I walked in without an appointment with a fever and cold sweats. I was clearly sick. I know all I needed was a shot of penicillin then I'd be on my way. I greeted the nurse at the desk who was very distracted and looking forward to her lunch break. She checked me in without telling me the amount for my copay and sprinted off. Another nurse took her place. While I waited, a young man and his mother (they had an appointment) checked in. We waited together and watched 3 episodes of Reba. Eventually, the young man approached the desk and asked about his mother's appointment. The nurse frantically scrambled at the desk and realized this poor woman wasn't properly checked in. They were quickly taken care of. After an hour and a half of waiting... I was taken to a small room to wait for a Doctor. Eventually, a nurse came in to gather all my info. I then mentioned I was never given a copay amount. She quickly left the room to get that dollar amount for me. After a grand total of two hours, the same nurse who carelessly blew me off when I checked in and bolted to her lunch break greeted me again with my copay amount. It was too high, I waited all that time just to leave. This staff doesn't care for it's patients. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. read more

I went in on wed for a TB test for Work They told me to come in on Friday 1-10 .. Which I did They call my boss on Tuesday to tell them that I never went back in which was a lie a older lady at the front desk said she could read it for me and said I was good to go home a nurse named bill also helped her read the results. Still in the waiting area waiting to be seen. Somehow 4 people that checked in after have been taken back and seen. The staff is slow and very unfriendly. Also, when we called prior to coming to ask about making an appointment we were told that its first come first serve. Then as we sit here, going on over an hour and 45 minutes, the receptionist offers to make an appointment for another patient! Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

I don't usually leave negative reviews but I can't believe how rude the reception staff was here! One of the woman up front even said my credit card was for people with bad credit! They acted like I was an inconvenience for being there....even though I was the only one there? The Nurse/DR were nice but WOW please let your staff know they can't treat people like that. read more

The facility was clean and the staff was nice enough. It would appear that at this location you can make appointments and there is physical therapy available. The major downside and the reason for the 3 stars is the wait time. I get clinics like this are busy, and I probably should have been more informed, but the scheduled appointments meant that my walk-in visit was probably seen as less of a priority. I waited 2 and a half hours in the waiting room, and another 30 minutes in the room to see the doctor for 2 minutes. But I guess though this is pretty standard now. On the plus side, there were snacks and coffee! I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. read more

Absolutely and completely ripped me off. I'd like to start off by saying I originally wrote a stellar review based on service and the Doctor herself, but sadly I have had to revise that based on the fact that I was completely lied to about the cost of services. Even after the office manager and office acknowledging that they were wrong and they did state they said it would only be a $125 flat fee TOTAL, I am still getting charged for miscellaneous charges that I was never supposed to be charged. I came in because of an unfortunate accident, and I required stitches immediately. I found these guys under "urgent care" and was worried about the pricing. Both ladies at the office CLEARLY STATED (my fiance was a witness) that there would ONLY be a $125 flat rate fee that covered my entire visit (stitches, materials, etc.) The doctor was incredibly fast. For that I am thankful. She got to work immediately on my finger and started stitching things up after anesthetizing the finger. I was seen quickly, the clinic was huge and new, right by Costco. The problem: I received a bill today for $135.00. I am absolutely and completely pissed. The office had clearly stated it was a flat rate fee of $125 which I paid via credit card. Now, the business has billed me $135 for sutures and materials they claimed was covered in the original fee. I will be reporting this to the BBB, I think it's completely messed up for a medical clinic to clearly state a price, and then basically let billing screw you over afterwards. The office manager Cheryl did help get my bill down, but I still owe a whopping $59 that I should NOT have to pay. BAD BUSINESS ETHICS! read more

Summary: Not so urgent care and endless billing for services not rendered My wife and I went in because she had a piece of glass in her foot. We walked in the door. The place was not very busy. We paid $120 up front for a doctor visit. We had to wait over an hour from walking in the door before the doctor saw us. No sense of urgency pervaded the urgent care office. The doctor, a nice friendly man, inspected my wife's foot and advised that he couldn't extricate the glass safely. Fair enough. He said that he would refund the $120 charge. Also fair, since he couldn't provide the desired service. As we left, the receptionist refunded the $120 charge to our credit card. Since then, we have received endless bills from Concentra Billing for the $120. It took three calls to Concentra and a personal visit to the clinic to resolve this issue. If you do go, be prepared for a long wait, between 1 - 2 hours before you actually see the doctor, and for even more hours disputing bills with Concentra Billing. Also of concern: The clinic posts the 30.06 and 30.07 signs on the door, turning it into a gun-free zone. But the clinic has no security guards of any kind, leaving the clientele disarmed and defenseless. This may make you feel safer or less safe, but you can certainly take it into account. read more

There is nothing urgent about Concentra Urgent Care. This is more of a place to get a drug test than to get medical attention. We were told the wait would be an hour to an hour and a half. After waiting for over an hour and a half someone comes out and says the wait is actually going to be at least an hour or two longer because they are "busy" and only have 1 doctor. Someone asks her, "How many doctors do you normally have?" She says, "1". This place needs to hire a business consultant so they can learn basic business practices on things like supply and demand and what to do if your only doctor doesn't show up that day. I imagine they would shut the doors. This place is a total waste of time unless you don't mind sitting in a lobby for 4 - 6 hours hoping someone can see you the same day you got there. read more

My husband had been dealing with a stomach issue for four days (clearly not just the food poisoning we thought it was), and we don't have a primary care physician yet, so we took him to urgent care. They took 3 hours to see him, and then said they would do lab tests. He was told it would take 2-3 days by the doctor. He can't eat anything right now, so 2-3 more days of waiting for meds wasn't ideal, but doable. He calls them on the third day, and they tell us that, no, it would take up to ten more business days to hear anything. Sure wish we'd been told that from the beginning! We explained that the doctor said 2-3, and that he still can't eat, and they did not care. Should have just gone through the hoops to get him set up with a primary care in the first place. Rude and misleading. This was not my first incident with them, but it will be the last. Never going back. read more

The doctor here was the worst. It appeared he got some sort of perverse satisfaction watching me squirm as he rattled off a list of potentially terrible things wrong with me. He then told me he couldn't help me and that I must rush to an ER because things were so dire. I hurried to the ER and what did I find out? I had a simple stomach flu. Nothing wrong with me otherwise. Totally fine. So not only was this doctor sick and mean, he was also bad at being a doctor! He totally thought the pancreas was in a different part of the body! Wow, what a waste of money. I should have just gone to the ER to begin with. I will never go here ever again! read more

Our toddler got a huge splinter in his foot that was too deep for us to remove ourselves. It was a Saturday afternoon and we were waiting to hear back from our pediatrician's office. After reading the great reviews for this Concentra on yelp, we decided to try it, with a little trepidation. I couldn't have been happier with the experience from start to finish. The facility is spotless, the staff is friendly, and service was fast. The doctor was great with our toddler. Splinter, removed...with very few tears! read more

I had two great experiences here somewhat recently. First was when I tore my ankle, they got me in quickly for X-Rays and gave me a boot with crutches. They passed the critical test of any service company, they let me come in 15 minutes before closing and still gave me good services. Next time I brought by daughter in for complaints about her arm. They found a very minor separation on her X-Rays and we were able to go to an orthopedist to get a cast later that day. Their staff called the next day to follow up as well. With insurance, both trips were cheap (specialist rate) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend anytime you need a same-day visit. read more

Concentra is awesome, my new heroes. Issue: big swelling of finger from a "weekend warrior" sports injury. Solution: Concentra, big time (first time ever patient at Concentra). Quick in-take paperwork, efficient nurse, quality doctor visit, great X-ray snaps, excellent doctor analysis and treatment. Great business delivery from start to finish. Easy on my wallet. Well I almost had to write the "Concentra or Con Central" review as my first contribution to Yelp. However, in this case, a simple administrative error resulted in my receiving a bill for an additional $79 from the clinical laboratory after we were told at urgent care that our fees were all inclusive (as we paid an extra $50 for lab work during our second visit. I take away 1 star for the semi-snarky receptionist Amanda, who when I asked why I'd received a bill for $79 tried to make up a reason "on the fly" after giving that "ohhhh" slightly condescending tone for being a cash patient (I could've been "reading in" a bit, but between 2 teenage kids I'm pretty attuned to "tone of voice")... All this before telling me I needed to call their billing office. Way to spin my wheels! I'll assign that star instead to the clinical lab billing office gal who actually called me back after the first time we hung up to apologize and tell me they missed a notation on the account saying it should be billed to urgent care, not the patient. #CustServ win, and the first time I've ever received a call back from a billing office that didn't involve the threat of legal action! Bonus. Now to the care: we took our nearly 5 year old daughter for analysis and treatment of an infection. The physicians assistant and both doctors we saw had excellent bedside manner with our daughter - who does NOT like going to the doctor. So much so, that she literally asked if we could go back the next morning; which we had to anyway, but you get the point. We don't often go to the doctors and are big proponents of preventive care (helloooo garlic-carrot-kale juice, nice to drink ya), so to be fair our daughter's lack of enthusiasm is definitely inherited. Nonetheless, the place was clean from kids toys in the waiting area to the patient room. Service really was lightning fast both times compared to every other urgent care in the country we've been to (a few different states over the years), and as mentioned we had friendly, courteous and also unhurried staff both times. Since the billing for labs was a mistake and it really was "all in," I'd go back when needed and can recommend them with the caveat that it's my only urgent care experience in Austin to date. read more

Thought this was an Emergency & Urgent Care facility. Came in at 8 am on a Tuesday looking for help with difficulty breathing. Was told I'd have to wait at least two hours because they have physicals before me. Went to a different Urgent Care who took care of me immediately. I ended up being hospitalized with pneumonia. read more

I had visited this location on several locations before ( Food poisioning, bronchitis/pneumonia) and had liked the dr I delt with so I continued to go. I do not have health insurance, and Concentra was a good alternative to some other options. However on this last visit, they charged me 40 dollars more for the appointment. When I asked them about it, they said that I had been charged incorrectly the other visit ( Which, was actually 3-4 other occasions, where I was apparently charged incorrectly) Fine. The Dr that I dealt with had absolutely no bedside manner at all. In fact, its been an extremely long time since i've been talked to the way he did. Apparently all I had was a "cold", and I was told that I still had another "week to just deal with it". I informed him of my health history and he was still unresponsive, and wrote it off as something he couldnt do anything about. After the appointment the front desk staff completely ignored me - apparently not wanting to interrupt themselves with checking me out. ( I was one of 2 people in there, it was near empty) I will NEVER go to a Concentra again, In fact i'd rather go to the emergency room then give them money. read more

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because of the doctors and the nurse who has been here both times. The front staff are rude and insensitive. Both times that I have been here, I have waited in the waiting room for over and hour just to sit in the back for almost 2 hours to be seen. They only ever have 1 doctor. This was the absolute WORST place to visit!!! DO NOT GO! I was the first person to arrive in the morning with a horrible ear/throat problem and still took 45 min to get in the door, after 3 other people I might add. After doing a strep test, the doctor came back in and confirmed it was positive. BUT WAIT! 5 minutes later and after the doc was prescribing me medicine, the nurse came running in to say that it was the wrong test and I actually did NOT have strep throat. Apparently there is no double checking system, who knows how many times they have misdiagnosed someone??? Although I did not have strep, he told me that I had a bacterial infection still. He DID NOT prescribe me ANYTHING for this but instead just gave me a shot for pain. Here I am the next day and my symptoms and pain are worse then when it started! After calling back they said there was nothing they could do until Monday or would have to come back in, pay again and have another person diagnose me. NO THANKS! I try never to post bad reviews because I understand things happen. But this is not the first time I have had an incompetent doctor visit with Concentra. I just wanted everyone to know, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I waited an hour and forty five minutes for the doctor to ask me the same questions I answered for the nurse. He spends 4 minutes with me to tell me I need antibiotics and to take a shower before I sleep. I could have told him that that was what I needed when I came in. Terrible service. They would have left me waiting even longer if I hadn't told them I had a final exam I needed to go to. 0/10, I wouldn't even recommend this urgent "care" to my worst enemy. I luckily didn't have a bad experience because my husband was doing workman's comp. The ladies upfront were great, the doctor was awesome. One thing to know though is that they couldn't do any pain shots like morphine or anything hardcore. My husband hurt his back at work and his pain was a level 10. We didn't' know they couldn't do anything beyond aleve and basic stuff. So don't go here if you are in desperate need of pain relief or something along those lines. But they treated and have treated my husband along the way great and even put in for physical therapy for him. So far so good! read more

"Urgent" care my A. Sure, the staff were nice and the facility was modern -but- I've never had a worse experience. I needed to be seen immediately and was forced to wait for hours. The place was NOT crowded at all and only 2 other people were there, along with me. I was on a time crunch so I asked upon check in how long the wait was and they said I would be back in my car within 1 hour. I ended up being forced to wait for so long and stayed as long as I could that the point came where had to leave right away- I alerted the staff and only then did they ask the doctor to see me. I saw and spoke with the actual Doctor literally less than 3 minutes total and he didn't even open my chart. I left there undiagnosed after paying a $55 copay. I am a reasonable person and have immediate family in the medical profession, so my expectations are not outrageous. I just should have listened to the bad reviews already listed on Yelp. Total ripoff. Waited 1.5 hours to see a hack doctor who told me I had the flu when I clearly didn't have the flu. Massively expensive for the quality or lack thereof of care given. Doc seemed to be out of it and forgot to send my prescription over as well. Do not go here. read more

I have to give this place credit: wait to be seen on a Tues morning was about 20 minutes, our nurse Josh was so kind and warm and helpful, and when the doctor took a look and decided that the injury needed ER care, they refunded our money and sent us on our way! I went in Saturday afternoon to get my daughter a physical after I had a horrible experience at their other location ( you can read my review for that location for details, it was the location on s. I35) I was immediately greeted by the receptionist Tracy, when I had told her my situation she was quick to help me get the paperwork I needed. When I was telling her the ordeal the operations director was up front and made sure to reassure me that I would be able to have my daughter seen for her physical and get my forms signed that I needed. The nurse, doctor and staff were sho great with my daughter, even offering her snacks while I filled out paperwork. Glad I gave this center a chance after such a horrible experience at the other location. Whatever they are doing here needs to be implemented at the other location. read more

I was very hesitant to come here, but it made sense at the time. I was told the minimum charge would be $160, and that's what I paid. At lunchtime on Friday, I saw a doctor with no wait. I may have jumped ahead of a few people because I had (minor) bleeding. Everyone was pleasant, courteous, and knowledgeable. The doctor respected my requests and took care of the problem. She stayed around until I had no more questions. The nurse provided me with an excess of supplies that I would need. I have no complaints with any part of my experience, and the waits were reasonable at every point. read more

I went to this location and on my first visit (and only visit) my HIPPA was violated. apparently one of the nurses thought it would be a good idea to look into my medical records, take my phone number and text me. While that in and of itself is stupid the manager was not very apologetic. While I understand how frustrating it is for you she shouldnt have made it seem like i was the cause of her headache. I'm sorry but your emplyee is the cause of your headache and having to deal with your rude phone calls wasnt how i wanted to spend my time trying to feel better. i dont recommend this location and affter going to another contentra location i honestly do not recommend any of their locations. they are friendly on your first visit then rude, and not helpful after that. I can't understand why there is so many poor reviews for this urgent care. I would much rather wait to be treated thoroughly, than to be rushed in with no treatment at all. This was my first experience as a patient at Concentra. I arrived at the Austin location just before 1:00pm on a Friday. Knowing the area and that it is part of the Arboretum. I knew there would be a wait, but I also knew I had to be seen. I am so glad that I decided to be seen. I was in and out of there in about an hour and a half. I had quite a few tests they had to do this afternoon. The nurse practitioner and Dr. Jason were extremely patient, caring and very thorough. I have been to the ER and I have a primary care physician, and this place knows and understands how patients want to be treated. I left there in awe. I was asking my significant other how come my primary doctors office isn't as knowledgable and friendly. Concentra treats you with kindness has a very respectful workflow process. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is in need of an urgent care and truly cares about their health. read more

Worst healthcare I've ever received. I should have learned my lesson the first time they were absolutely terrible, but didn't. This place is designed to empty your wallet. I clearly had bronchitis, so I made an appointment here to get an antibiotic or cough medicine. The appointments apparently mean nothing. I spent 3.5 hours waiting at the clinic despite them clearly not being busy. Evidently there is only one doctor working, and the guy was about as cold as a doctor could be. I got about 5 minutes with him. A few unnecessary $$$ chest x-rays later, I did have bronchitis and got my cough suppressant. They gave me 10 days of meds (completely harmless ones I've taken many times in my life) and now that I am out and still coughing, they refuse to give me a refill unless I come back in and schedule another appointment (which hopefully would take less than 3.5 hours but probably not). I've never heard such BS in my life. This is nothing more than them milking the healthcare system. They doc couldn't even give me another week? Couldn't give me 30 days worth the first time around? Unbelievable. If you're sick and you need urgent care, go to CVS minute clinic. It's fast and they actually are there to take care of you. Since the pharmacy makes money on their own, they don't need to cheat you to make a buck. And yes, they will give you a 30 day supply of medicine. read more

I'm writing this review simply just to warn others of how inefficiently this place is run, and hopefully by reading you'll think about going somewhere else to save yourself the headache that you'll surely get from dealing with these people. Now... I first went into this location in mid February because I felt extremely ill. The type of sick that totally knocks you on your butt and unable to do anything but lay in bed and be miserable. My husband insisted because of my super high fever that we needed to go to Concentra right away. The lobby was clean, and we only waited about 15 minutes. We dealt with a male staff member(Bill) who was the only one there that had good bedside manner and made you feel like he actually cared. We then waited in the exam room for probably 25 minutes until the doctor came in, which was no big deal. My doctor was Dr Durren, and maybe he was just tired... but he was definitely wanting to be anywhere else but there. He came to the conclusion that he wanted to run tests for the flu, I gave him the go ahead. He warned me that the tests could show up negative, but he felt best to "rule out two strains of the flu". Both tests were negative. Since he couldn't figure out what other illness it could be, he said "I'll just say it's the flu like illness since you have similar symptoms". I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound comforting at all coming from a medical professional. He then prescribed flu meds, and told me to not go to work for several days and to just "let the flu symptoms go away/it could take a week". I got way worse the next few days, which I told a staff member when they called for their follow-up call. I told him that I would be dropping off some paperwork for Dr Durren to fill out, which is required for my job if you miss a certain amount of time from work. I dropped off the papers the next day, and tried to explain to the receptionist how important that it is that I get this completed/filled out completely within the allotted time frame I have to have it turned back in, or I would be terminated from my job. I don't recall her exact response, but I received an eye roll and some semi-rude remark about how she couldn't tell the doctor what to do. Now, this isn't a form that only my job requires. It's a state related thing, that they see all the time. She then assured me she'd give it to the doctor, so I left my # with her for her to call me when it's ready to be picked up, and for confirmation purposes when they fax the paperwork to my job(also required). I received no call, so I called back 2 days later. They couldn't locate the paperwork. I work about 50 hours a week, so taking time out of my day to drop off ANOTHER copy really was an inconvenience. Another couple days pass, still no call. I call back again, and the person with whom I spoke to was rude and pretty much brushed me off saying that "the doctor will get to it when he has time". Again, I politely reminded her that I will be terminated from my job is this isn't faxed out in time. She assured me it would get done. Another couple days pass, and I finally get a call. She lets me know that what the doctor put on the form(it wasn't filled out right but at this point I just need to turn this stuff in to prove I was sick).. She then tells me she's going to fax it. Fast forward to about the first week of March. I get an email at work from our main headquarters section that handles work absences and such; my paperwork was never faxed to them. Luckily, I have a boss that is willing to fight with his higher ups in order to try and save my job. I was provided with another option; to have Concentra fill out some different type of paperwork. I dropped off the paperwork, and was again reassured the doctor would fill it out and they would call me. Two days pass, so I called them to check on it. They evidently misplaced the forms FOR THE SECOND TIME. The lady sounded frustrated and asked to call me back. These forms also have a due date, so I again stressed how important it is that the doctor looks at it. I didn't get a call back for another 6 or 7 days, so I called them AGAIN. The lady who I spoke to was pleasant, and told me they're ready to be picked up. Today, I went in to pick them up and be done with this place. The receptionist was very polite and professional, but she had to have me wait while she called her coworker to ask where my forms were since they were no where to be found. Again, the form wasn't completely filled out. This place turned something simple into a drawn out month and a half long cluster F, and their prices aren't cheap for extra tests that they want to run on you. I was also sick for a full month. That's definitely not the flu; pick doctors to work for your location that actually care about diagnosing a patient correctly. read more

Being in a customer service driven profession i know the importance of being on top of your game even when in pain. Last week after injuring myself at work i was treated at this location. The experience was amazing. I have never been treated so great in a hospital setting. This center has an amazing staff. I was helped by Chewanese at the front desk who was AMAZING. I then met hands down the best manager ever in Christopher. He set an expectation of how long my treatment my visit would take. Then i mentioned i had not eaten and he took it upon himself to get food and bring to my room. The following day he even followed up with myself and employer about the visit and care. Hands down this center is levels above the rest. Returning this week for my recheck and greeted by my first name drove this home for me. Concentra at William Cannon is my choice of medical facilities at work or home read more
