This was our first time here and we look forward to coming back. The menu changes daily so when you go not everything on today's menu may be available. Also, I read a couple of reviews that complained that not all menu items were available. Our waiter explained that when they sometimes run out of things, it's because they are a small restaurant. To start our meal, we ordered the Bresaola which was outstanding. For our main course we ordered the Lobster Ravioli and the Chicken Marsala. The Lobster Ravioli was served with a cream sauce and a lot of flavor. The Chicken Marsala was without a doubt the best I've ever tasted and was served a vegetable medley. Service was attentive but also a little slow at times. Some of the slowness may have been caused by the kitchen being very busy. The restaurant is noisy and busy. If possible make a reservation or you may have to wait for a table. read more

I wanted to try this place because of the great reviews that I have heard. It was very difficult to find with the instructions on Waze. Not sure it was a Waze thing or any other map applications have had the similar experiences. But if you use Waze just know it's very hidden next to the AMC theaters. Ambiance is very nice. I guess a lucky for us we went around 3pm because I have heard that there is a wait. But inside it very nice but not very big. I did notice that they only use scannable menus. But just know the menu does change and not sure how often. We did not that the owner or he appeared to be the owner was actively interacting with the patrons. Seemed pretty cool but not sure why we were the last he did come to while seated. But when he did it was very very short unlike the others. Another patron interrupted our conversation and the owner rudely left in the middle of the conversation and never returned. But guess the guy is busy. Service was pretty good and the suggestions were welcomed. We definitely had no problems getting water refilled. We were surprised that they charge for bread service $5. But it was good for 5 small pieces. Two of us had the bolognese and it was just okay. It was definitely not worth the $28 though... very pricey for some pasta and meat sauce they did lack something. And the portion size definitely did not match the price. Although, the short rib ravioli was very delicious and it was $27. However, we were disappointed in the options in the menu. Definitely not what we expected. The thing is with a menu that changes you don't know what to expect the next time and I'm not so sure I personally like that. Maybe if it's posted online ahead of time maybe. After all the hype I can say I am not really impressed but to each their own. I just really think that the menu is very overpriced and especially for the portion size. After our very short talk with the owner sounded as though they do not offer pesto dishes. The food was good and authentic, but unfortunately the overall experience was very mixed. We understand that our server was wearing many hats and handling several responsibilities throughout the restaurant. However, it was noticeable that she was spending much more time on the phone and behind the bar than tending to the tables, which contributed to the slow service. Unfortunately, her attitude also came across as beyond rude at times. Our appetizer (which consisted of solely a basket of bread) came out long before the entrees, leaving a significant gap between courses. I was also surprised that there were no paper menus with descriptions of the dishes. (Apparently their menu can change 3-4x per day??) We had to Google several items ourselves to figure out what they were before ordering, since the server was nowhere to be found a majority of the time; which made the experience less enjoyable. The food itself was good and authentic, but the service and overall dining experience left a lot to be desired. Likely will not return. read more

While I don't mind accessing a menu via QR Code ~ I ABSOLUTELY mind being taken to a site which collects and stores my personal data. IMO this is the ultimate disrespect to customers who trust Con Amore Ristorante to not betray them by forcing them into a site that collects personal data. We had a date night here and we absolutely loved the staff and the food was incredible. I recommend the Lobster Ravioli. For the starter we chose Caprese. It's was fresh and savory! Our server, Amy made recommendations for my date's meal and also for my selection of wine and they were excellent choices. It pains me to leave a negative review so know that when I do it, it's not out of malice but disappointment. I planned a date night and picked Con Amore because of the Yelp reviews. I'd also heard it was an established solid Italian restaurant. We arrived at around 7pm and were not received by front of house staff. I could tell they were understaffed but I've been in places with the same situation and there would, without fail, be someone on staff who'd quickly acknowledge that new people had come in and perhaps assure that they'd be over in a minute or so. This didn't happen for around five minutes of standing there. Finally a staff member came over and we requested a table. She said that seating was "impacted" and said we could either wait a while or dine at the bar. Being dead set on trying the place, we opted to stay. She left to attend other guests without hearing our decision so we decided to get a drink at the bar and wait for the next table to open. She served us and we told her our plans which she seemed to understand so we ordered focaccia, a glass of wine and an iced tea because they were out of beer and apparently out of Coke Zero which I initially ordered. The other bartender, a young man was polite but also running around focusing on the main floor. Both seemed out of their depth. The bread (neither fresh nor airy) took a while longer than it ought to have. It also took some time before our drinks arrived. The iced tea was unsweetened, weak and in a tiny glass. Not a problem at the time, we were waiting for a table and expected it to be good. We were also instructed to scan a QR code for the menu, which is a practice one reserves for casual family restaurants like Chilis, and while the offerings looked promising, there were no descriptions of the food at all, no list of chef's specialties, just a sparse listing of Italian dishes. Meanwhile, we saw other diners arrive and were seated almost immediately while we languished at the unattended bar. Three sets of diners were seated while we waited. Finally, the bartender comes and tells us the kitchen would be closing at 8 if we wanted to put in our orders. We explained we were waiting for a table and he said, "Well, that table over there is open if you like." And points to one by the wall which hadn't even been bussed. I don't think he's particularly at fault, he came off as a trainee of sorts. But overall, the service staff was unwelcoming, terse, and barely even made eye contact. I don't mind such things at a dimsum or a taqueria where high volume, low cost, quick service is the practice, but a place with white table cloths that touts itself as a sit down casual fine dining establishment could do far better. You expect warmth, and, if you have to wait, perhaps some fresh bread on the house or a feeling that they want you there. We were not wanted there. We paid for our drinks and the stale blocks of focaccia and left. We will not be returning. I don't think we'll be missing much being that the Parmesan they top their entrees with is no different than the crumbly supermarket variety in a green shaker. Decor was a mishmash of Chagall style art and paint & sip level abstracts. Place needs an overhaul but maybe they've fallen on hard times. I wouldn't mind the decor so much if the service was inviting but it's not and there are many other spots which would serve and receive better. We ended our night at Star Crab in Riverside which should be called 5-Star Crab because it's incredible and totally saved the night. read more

My company comes here for dinner every year as the owner Alfredo is a fantastic host. He's so funny and friendly. Food is amazing and feels like it's a home cooked meal. One of my favorite Italian places! This place is owned by a family and all the food is truly made with love. The fettuccine is homemade so if you get a pasta, sub for fettuccine it's exquisite. We had Mother's Day lunch here. It was a little fun trying to find it because it's tucked in a corner by the movie theater but it was well worth it. It's a family owned and operated restaurant. The ambiance is cozy, very Italian and just overall comfortable. The owner was very attentive, funny and just a very cool character. Now let's talk about the food. Wow. Everything that we got was absolutely delicious. I mean flavors were popping. The chef who is also the owners wife, knows Italian cuisine but then she's Italian so it's authentic. Like no Alfredo sauce because that's not Italian. You learn something new everyday. The fettuccine is made with a lobster cream sauce. The food came out piping hot which I absolutely loved. Hey, I like my food hot when it's supposed to be hot. This place has definitely taken over as my number 1 spot for authentic Italian cuisine. Con Amore is hands down the most authentic Italian food around the Corona area. Alfredo and his family have completely elevated doing a date night at the Crossings and they are wonderful, kind hearted people. We make sure to come here for special occasions and date nights without the kids - and each time my wife and I go here, he personally greets us and remembers us like we go there every week. I've put off coming here for years because I've been so let down by other local businesses making flavorless, bad quality food. I regret the years I've missed out on eating at this place. Con Amore used to be our favorite restaurant. It felt like a little piece of Italy and somewhere we truly loved going. Sadly, after our last visit, we will not be back. Things had already been slipping lately with slow service, burnt food, and even being served a different pasta than what was ordered without being told. We kept giving it grace because the staff had always been kind and it felt like home. This last visit changed that. After appetizers, I went to order my usual pasta with sausage and was told they were out. No one mentioned this earlier. Because I am allergic to dairy, I asked the server to check what options I could have that were dairy free but still included protein. He returned and told me I could have it with cream sauce. At that point, it was clear my allergy wasn't understood, so I asked to speak to a manager. I was told the manager was too busy and it would be a long wait despite the restaurant only having about four or five tables occupied. That response felt incredibly dismissive. I then asked if I could have chicken instead since it was on the menu. Eventually another server came out and said they could put chicken on the side. When I asked if it could simply be added to the pasta so I could eat it together, he told me no and even said there was no point in asking Alfredo because the answer would be no. After years of loyalty, I was sitting there being offered cream despite clearly stating I have a dairy allergy, with no protein option offered even though steak, chicken, and salmon are all on the menu. We asked for the check and left without a meal. Con Amore used to feel like home. Sadly, it no longer does. read more

We went Friday night and yes it was busy but Gioia greeted us and said we could sit at the bar to eat and drink. This was perfect for us as we were just hungry from not eating since earlier in the day and we just wanted to unwind since we had gone to Glen Ivy for a well deserved soak. First off, I really didn't appreciate the person who was a regular who posted non sensical and petty things about this place. If you have ever been served at a true Italian moms and pops place ...you know things take time as it's made from "scratch". That said...nothing we had that night took too much time to make IMHO. An important thing to note was I was apprehensive to order since I am a Celiac until Gioia told me they had Gluten free pasta for anything except the ravioli and gnocchi. I was ecstatic honestly. Anyhow I did end up with the Chilean sea bass with pasta in a creamy sauce. It was definitely made with parmesan. The pasta itself was al dente (well made and not overdone). My husband had the chicken marsala and was very happy. He wanted me to try it but I told him I couldn't since it had flour (Gioia told me they could always accommodate the marsala for me if I wanted it in the future). That's precious. I thanked her for that. Btw I forgot to mention that they have a QR code for the menu so get ready to try and open that up. We had difficulty only with that though and we had help from a neighboring woman who sent it to my husband's phone. She was a regular and really nice person who had finished eating and was just enjoying a drink with her husband. All in all it was a good night and we got to also chat with two elderly ladies who also were regulars and really kids too. We got to see the owner come out since it was someone's in birthday and it made me laugh to see him with a candle on his head and bringing out the cake for the birthday fellow. I thought that was unique and absolutely adorable. Just know that we highly recommend this Tuscan cuisine and it's made by them personally. They also have a great prep group you get to see in front too. For a busy night I also noticed their one toilet was clean. I am reviewing more here as I wish to let people know the details. Oh and they have a great Chianti and cappuccino too. Our dessert was their cheesecake and that was with blueberry and with amaretto in it. It was so good and even my husband tried some. Yes it was gluten free ...Gioia also checked that before getting it for me. She said they also have almond cookies too and next time I am gonna have to try that. I don't usually go crazy for dessert but this was so tasty and I kind of knew it would be since it's genuinely made with love back there by the owners. I think this family is amazing. Give them a try and don't go if you want to be served in and out like it was fast food. That's not Italian way. I grew up eating Italian foods as I was born there as well as my parents were Croatian and there is a lot of Italian influence over there. I read a lot of reviews for restaurants in Corona CA. I'm not from this area so I depend on reviews to help guide and choose. The restaurant itself is colorful but not really filled with love, tables and chairs put in weird and awkward locations and it just feels like a blank slate with too much art work. Although the artwork was nice I felt like I was not in an Italian restaurant. The menu- so I eat a lot of Italian food at least 2 meals a week. I didn't know half the stuff on the menu, there is no explanations or anything so we spent 1/2 our time googling the menu.... They also have only 1 salad to choose from and a big one for me is that there is no bread served with dinner- now maybe y'all are ok with no bread and butter but I really look forward to a good piece of bread and real butter! also their pastas none of them can you add chicken too. So when you google your pasta you're literally getting a bowl of pasta, and sauces. So if you don't eat red meat or fish then you eat no protein. The chicken Marsala I ordered came with just veggies, and the sauce even though the consistency was on point the sauce was way too sweet- so not being able to eat the whole thing because bite after bite it was mouthfuls of sugar and or a sweetness from the wine that was too overpowering. The pasta we ordered was really good, we ordered the lemon one- but it was pasta, in a lemon sauce and some cherry tomatoes. Let's just say we ate at 5pm and by 8 everyone was hungry again. Overall if this place has a 4.9 review I'm wondering who has really eaten here and gave it that high of a score? Or maybe they just don't know great Italian food?
