This company is awful to deal with. I am the court-appointed Executor of the estates of both my parents. I have written Computershare multiple times to obtain a complete listing of all accounts my parents had with Computershare. The responses have been incomplete and misleading, as they omitted a number of accounts - some of which I knew about and some of which I did not learn about until later when I received year-end tax documents. I made a follow-up request for a complete listing of all accounts and holdings, but never received a response. I recently received a notice of change of address from the post office suggesting that my parents have additional undisclosed holdings at Computershare. When I called to inquire, Computershare refused to provide any information about those holdings. To state the obvious, it is deeply concerning that I am not receiving accurate responses to my requests for information concerning my parents' holdings at Computershare. read more

I have repeatedly attempted to gain access to my account. Every attempt results in Computershare's system saying they will send me a validation email link. I never receive the email. When I contact the company, they, in error, believe this is some other kind of problem and send temporary passwords and validation codes via postal mail. I enter these into their system and again, I am asked to validate an email link that never arrives. It is not in my spam folder and my email address is entered correctly. Computershare is engaged in fraudulent business practices, and I will continue to allege this until the issue is resolved and gain access to my account online. read more

None of the customer service staff are trained well and the hold times are horrendous. After hours of being transferred around I finally had one customer service rep actually know a little bit about their platform and somewhat helpful... So glad and never been more relieved to finally got my holdings out... after hours and hours which should only take minutes. Terrible customer service, and clunky antiquated systems. Every person you call can only access stocks with certain companies and has to transfer you if you need information about a different holding. The customer support people are unhelpful at best, argumentative and rude more frequently. Online access is awful, you can't view all your holdings with a single login, new holdings aren't added automatically, and occasionally it just says you don't have any stocks. When company mergers take place or stock transfer agents for a particular company are changed for some reason, they seem to not keep any record of it and you're left on your own to track them down. I have now spent the better part of a day tracking down gift stocks over the last couple of years purchased for my children by their great-grandmother, I'm still not even confident that I've found them all. read more

Unacceptably bad service to the point of being comical. I've been on hold for over two hours because I can't remember my security question - "What is my favorite car?" I have no idea what the answer could possibly be. But... I've been #1 in the queue for fifteen minutes telling me they have ONE person working today. If this was a Georgia election, people would be protesting calling this systemic racism. Two hours? Come on! Nobody should wait in line for anything anymore. Total disrespect for my time. Horrendous. No company like this should stay in business. I am POA for an aging parent and simply needed to switch the mailing address over from the parent to me in order to complete taxes and care for their financial affairs. I contacted Computershare to determine what to do...they said to send the POA documents and a letter of instruction. 2 months later I made a follow-up call, only to find that it was "pending". Followed up several more times by phone (and then by email as you cannot understand any of the customer service people...language barrier). Three months later, I receive a form letter telling me that I either have to get the parents signature or jump through some medallion signature red tape. I mean seriously, could they not have just walked me through what to do...it's difficult enough to care for aging parents' affairs without these useless automatons and their uncaring attitudes. read more

I recently had to interact with Computershare multiple times as part of my Mother's estate. I spoke to one rep who explained the process, ordered paperwork, etc. She was wonderful, pleasant and very helpful. I had to call back to clarify something and the rep I got was rude. When I inquired about the status of the paperwork being sent to the attorney's office, the rep told me I would have to check with the USPS to find out the status. All I asked was confirming this paperwork was sent out as it had been two weeks and the attorney's office had not received this paperwork. When I questioned the rep with this guidance, I was hung up on. I sent a message in with my experience, I got a generic response back with no guidance to resolve my issue. My attorney finally got the paperwork, followed the step by step guidance given with the paperwork and even called to make sure all steps were completed correctly. Weeks later, the attorney had to follow up because they had not heard anything even though I got a notice showing the stocks with transferred almost immediately after they got the letter weeks before. Come to find out, there was another form that needed to be completed and signed. This was not sent with the initial paperwork and delayed this process further. This was sent in and after 3 weeks of not hearing anything the attorney's office just called again. Each call, the reps they spoke to were rude and seemed to be annoyed they were having to talk to anyone. I will NEVER do any business with Computershare. Dealing with the death of a loved one is hard enough, but when you have to repeatedly call and are met with rude people, it really makes the process even worse. This was the smallest account my Mother had and the most difficult-time consuming account to get closed. I would encourage all businesses and consumers to avoid Computershare! read more

Then after 30 minutes on hold they send me a wizard with no instructions and when try to find a phone number get the tech runaround online. End up with FAQs with no real support. They've locked me out of my account for months now. I know my password, but failed the security questions some time ago, so I can never log in. This company is terrible to deal with. My husband and I hold joint telephone stocks with Verizon and AT&T left by his mother many years ago. I have been trying to get them transferred to my name because he passed away a year ago and has been nothing but a nightmare. They require all kinds of paperwork and after that was completed, I had to go to a bank and have a medallion stamp affixed to the paperwork. The person at the bank spent at least an hour with me doing what had to be done. Now I am trying to ad beneficiaries to these stocks and I have more paperwork and have to go back to the bank again for another medallion stamp. I waited on line for 30 minutes to speak to a real person and they told me where to go on line to get the forms for beneficiaries and to change direct deposit of dividends to another account. MORE PAPERWORK and when I tried to have the bank account changed, they told me this account wasn't eligible to be changed. Now I have to get back on the phone and wait who knows how long to speak to a person!!!!!! I should have to present a death certificate and make some minor changes on line since this is a joint account and it states in our will I am the beneficiary. read more

I had an employee stock plan with them and they lnew I was trying hard to get ahold of them throughout the weekemd to file my taxes. They decided to lock me out of my account and the representative kept repeating herself, saying my account wasnt locked out. She did absolutely nothing to resolve my issue. I hung up and tried to log back in, but wasnt successful with anything. Everytime I called, the automated system kept making me change my phone pin before I could go any further. The representative that picked up was drowned out by an overlapping voice... I couldn't understand anything. What makes it worse is I only have a few days to file certain tax info... I was going to purchase some more shares, but never again! Im thinking they're fraudulent. read more

This may be the worst financial services firm i have ever encountered. Before you do business with them i suggest you consider: 1. Virtually impossible to talk to a live person; 2. There live chat is a joke of circular standard topics; 3. What kind of "brokerage" doesn't accept wire transfers. They informed ne they "don't handle cash". 4. There require a level of paperwork and details that frankly may be illegal but clearly no sense of customer service. 5. If i could give them a negative 5 rating that would be an overstatement. Fortunately i have a position where i can "suggest" our company stop using their services which i will do in about 10 minutes. Here is how bad their customer service is, if i could get an executive on the phone and tell him or her that our company is dropping them as a service provider, they would not care, but most importantly would not even ask why. read more

I have 2 accounts with Computershare. I didn't receive tax statements this year so I called them. The phone line I was on with the rep was so bad I could not understand her, very garbled and echoing. I had to hand up and call back. I got a different rep but still had a bad phone line. I complained and it got better, enough to get my business done. I had to call a few days later and used my landline phone, same problem. When I complained she acknowledged she was aware of the problem. She did something and it got better for a short time. I strongly believe they intentionally make the phone line garbled so you will get frustrated and hang up! The third time I called they said there was another name on my account but they wouldn't tell what it was or how I could find out. I asked for a supervisor and they said one would call me back but never did. Exceptionally poor customer service. read more

This is a unique company that serves corporations rather than stockholders. Thus, they are unresponsive to stockholders. They have an system set up with only one phone number and no email contact. That one phone number takes you to a phone tree that is basically is a closed loop that never leads to a person. By trial and error over about 20 calls, I figured out that if you dial "00" at certain points in the phone tree, you are connected to a person. That is small consolation since I was frequently disconnected or transfered back to the phone tree. I have been working for over a month to correct a stock misregistration from an IPO and made little progress due to ineffective communication channels. I will be working with the SEC to try to ban them from stock registration work. read more

I have never dealt with a company so difficult. My Mother died on Sept 9th 2018 and on Sept 20th 2018, per my Mother's wishes, I sent a letter to this company to liquidate shares in RBC and distribute the funds to her heirs only to get complete disregard for her and her investments and wishes. Rude, unresponsive and no compassion. It wasn't until I sent many letters and worked with a broker that I received the crashing shares on Sept 9th 2019, almost exactly a year after I first sought to dissolve these investments. Fortunately, family and friends and friends of friends and their friends will not be affected because I will NEVER forget the dishonest actions of this group and how during a time of grief they tried their level best to be so unkind! It would be a crime to rate them anything higher than 1 star. Every single contact I have ever had with them ended in failure. One time they only sent half of the dividend that I should have received and after 4 months of contact back and forth with them I gave up. My regular broker had to intervene on my behalf to try to get stocks from them and it took 3 months. He said it was the worst interaction, disinformation, errors, unprofessional companies he has ever dealt with. They have a strangle hold on certain sectors though as they are one of the only companies that deal with company employee restricted stock and I guess as long as they have that they feel that they can crap on everybody because we have no choice. This should be a great business opportunity for somebody to replace them! read more

Over and over after being locked out of my account multiple times. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Only way to fix this is by mail and I travel around a lot. Not applicable. This company owns SLS (specialized loan servicing) and maybe in Australia they can take advantage of the "working class" but in America they should have to abide by the law. However, this company bought my mortgage on the secondary market. I have an adjustable rate mortgage which I am unable to refinance as I no longer make the kind of money I use to when I got the loan. The terms of the note are quite clear - for years Wells fargo serviced our loan and got it right everytime. Adjustable mortgages are based on indexes, and in the terms of the note it explicitly states how the rate is to be calculated every year, what day the rate is to be taken and the source the rate is to be taken from - in my case it is the 1 Year US Treasury yield on April 16th - every year. Take this number on this date and add 2.750%. The note also states the lowest the interest rate and highest the interest rate can every be based on the above calculation. Highest is 11.625% and lowest 2.750%. So my rate should be 2.81% yet this horrible thieving company has reset my interest rate to 11.625%. When I called them and spoke to a minimum wage worker I was told "this is the rate and if you don't like it to refinance." I wish there was a lawsuit I could sue them for all the stress they have caused. Oh and it gets better as this is the second time in a little over a year doing this to me. We cannot make the new payment - and who in their right mind would interest rates are low and mine is an adjustable and should be super low too! Anyone who can help I would appreciate it! read more

This company was the transfer agent of some stock shares my mother inherited. Unfortunately she did not have the original paper stock certificates, so she had to file some affidavit of loss paperwork to get them transferred into "electronic shares" instead. This seems to entail an insurance policy be purchased and they charge you $80 fee ... and long story short, this took well over a year ... as this seems like a fraudulent company and they make everything which should be simple, EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. They only work via. snail mail ... which insures a 10 day delay every time your attempt to do whatever the request, which never seems to end. They have a website that is worthless, you log in, and nothing is there and nothing can be done from there. The customer support is similar: wait forever, then they really cannot do anything for you, except they make it appear they are checking (forever) but then can't do anything, except some up with new excused and maybe a new wait for the next snail mail of 10 days. They claim you don't fill out paperwork right, but then you do ... and a month later, your repeating this process again. Meanwhile, you get blasted with letters from a firm called georgeson, who seems to have your account information, # of shares ... everything which shoudl be PRIVATE, but offers to deal with Computershare, for a modest percentage of everything you own. Wow, so I believe this is where the scam occurs ... pay georgeson to get things straightened out, while making dealing with them direct impossible. This company really does need to be reported and investigated ... because all signs point towards fraud and corruption. And if its not that, its the worst run company on the face of earth, period. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. If you do have shares there and can see them, transfer them out to any reputable broker dealer ASAP. As I write this, I am still waiting to see these shares appear in my mothers account, over 10 years after she inherited them. SHAME on computershare. read more

I updated my address information in my user portal and they restricted my ability to sell shares of stock for 14 days which has cost me thousands of dollars in loses. DO NOT USE THIS COMOPANY for you're investments! Only resolution they provided was that you must mail in a letter to execute your trade in full, thanks for being so helpful so by the time snail mail reaches there customer service and someone opens it and process the request that can take weeks as well, all with the same end result the loss of money for me! Thank you Computershare for being so helpful, having ridiculous and outdated policies and for HOLDING MY STOCKS HOSTAGE for 14 days and the loses I incurred! read more

Terrible brokerage. Why on earth did Walmart choose them? They lock you out of account, they don't reply. They act rude on the phone and even accused us of fraud - for trying to get into own account? Send in paperwork and it makes no difference. Sent complaint to BBB about them but may not make any difference. Do not put your stock in this company if you can get out of it. Other brokerage companies are so much nicer and try to be helpful. Their website constantly says INSECURE SITE. They don't care - they have been told about it and could care less about it.
