I appreciated all of the time and information he gave me while not trying to sell me something I didn't need or want. Outstanding Customer Service and Repairs. I have used Computer Solutions on multiple occasions and have always received excellent service. This time, my wife's Lenovo ThinkPad had gone dark and would not power on, despite being fully charged. We took the laptop in and while we waited, the tech did a quick check on the power port, on/off button, and power cord. When it was clear that there was a deeper issue, he gave me a very reasonable "not to exceed" price quote and I left the laptop at the shop. A few days later, I received a text message notifying me that they believed the problem was with the motherboard. More importantly, they had contacted Lenovo and determined that the laptop was still under warranty and that Lenovo would replace the motherboard. The tech kept me apprised of the progress over the next few weeks as the laptop was shipped to Lenovo, a new motherboard was installed and then shipped back to Computer Solutions. Prior to shipping it, the tech had removed the memory card. When the laptop was returned, he reinstalled the memory card. When we picked up the laptop yesterday, we paid a very small fee for the work that was done, and we were delighted with the results. After the reboot, the screen came up and the desktop showed the work my wife had in progress at the very moment the laptop had stopped working. Computer Solutions has very talented and good people like Jared and an intern, James. They are honest, diligent, and committed to solving any issue you might have with your computer. I had a great experience at Computer Solutions. My kid's home-built gaming PC wouldn't boot due to a USB error. Although I have a background in IT and used to build PCs frequently, I wasn't confident about fixing this on my own so I contacted Computer Solutions in downtown Castle Rock. James, the owner, was easy to work with and took the computer right away. James discovered a short in the USB port and was able to get the PC to boot back up. He fixed the bent pins and he even dug out the remnants of a USB drive that caused the short. James was really easy to work with and the price was fair. It took him a few days to get to it (which he communicated up front) but he was thorough, knowledgeable, and communicated well. Over a year ago James tuned up my laptop that had been getting slower and slower. It ran like it was brand new! That laptop finally died this year and not only was he able to save all of my data, but also found me a hell of a deal on a brand new laptop that was way cheaper than my previous one. They will tell you they will call you the next day but, don't call back at all. After 9 days, I went in to get my computers. We have an older laptop that we wanted the data transferred to the new laptop. We were assured it could be done in one day. Bring in the old laptop and they would take the data off it. Then, we could bring in the new one and they would transfer the data to it. In the meantime, my husband's laptop wouldn't boot up. So, they had that one too. Nope. After no calls and one not returned call, I went in to retrieve our computers. Nothing had even been started on them. One of the two women working there, (I had to peek in the back to get someone's attention after standing at the counter for several minutes) asked if I had brought in a thumb drive or DVD to transfer the info onto. I said I was assured it could be transferred without me bringing in any other media. While she back-pedaled on several counts, I asked nicely for the return of my computers. While she tried to give alternative solutions, none of which I was willing to try, she gave me my two laptops. We received no further calls or contact from them. Not only do we not recommend them, we plead with you to not go there and be jerked around. read more

I took my MacBook in to Computer Solutions at the end of November with a restart issue. At the time they took it in, they seemed to have reasonable confidence that they could handle the issue. Their diagnosis concluded that the laptop needed a logic board swap to reset the firmware password. They gave me the quote and asked if I would like to proceed, to which I agreed. To note it upfront, I found it very difficult after that point to reach anyone at the shop. I had to continuously call in order to speak to someone. I was given three estimates of completion, which were all missed. Finally, after no status updates, I stopped in to their shop. The owner, James, took me to the back where I found the computer disassembled. At this point, I was frustrated at how long it was taking, so I told him I'd like it put back together. He said his intern Nathan would put it back together and call me when it was ready the next day. I waited all day and never received a call back. So, I went again to their shop before their 6pm close time and found that they were not there. I called James that night on his cell phone and left a message. Later I got a call from an unknown number without leaving a message. I looked up this number and found it belonged to Data Medics which was registered to the same address as Computer Solutions. I later got a text from James who said that his intern would put the computer back together and that I could pick it up the next day, Sunday, even though it was supposed to have been reassembled and picked up two days previous, Friday. We made contact with the 'intern' on Sunday. We arranged for a time to meet him at the shop. Arriving at the shop, I found my laptop still completely disassembled. So, I waited for about an hour and ten minutes while he put the computer back together. On first completion, he forgot to reinstall the charging port and left a wire disconnected as he did not know where it went. Later, I found that he had tucked the cable in, making it look like he had reconnected it, but, unfortunately it was still loose. He also dropped a couple of tiny screws and left them out. At the shop I was able to restart the computer, but, in the car on the way home I found that the keyboard and power button were disconnected. I then texted James about the fact that it wasn't ready when I got there and that the power board and keyboard were disconnected. At that point, he said that it was the 'interns' fault. While putting the computer back together, the 'intern' said that it was James fault. I felt no one was taking responsibility. All in all, this was a nightmare experience. I cannot recommend this business based on the sheer unprofessionalism of not answering the phone, being closed during posted business hours, not meeting deadlines and poor reassembly of my laptop. read more

If you think this is a quick solution think again. James the owner is a one man operation. While he does seem to know a bit he wasn't able to fix the power issue my computer was having. They say they will give you a call but they are really bad at both answering and responding to calls as making courtesy calls about progress and completion. They also lock their door even when it says open and I always just found James and the one girl sitting on the couch by the door. Every time I called when he should have been done my computer he said he would start working on it even though he was already a week overdue. I was patient but this business was very unprofessional. Go somewhere else if you can. The only thing nice is that this guy was cheaper than the geek squad at best buy. read more
