Called Guy regarding my black screen of death. I could not boot into bios due to my monitor not showing any boot screen or the like.... Just a black screen. I called for help and immediately asked if he could help with a broken screen on my laptop. He asks: Who am I speaking with? How did I hear of him? What make is the lap top? What is the model? How exactly did it break? I answer these questions, and then he tells me it is not the type of thing he works on. I wonder why, so I ask him what type of things don't you work on. He says " uh broken things". Since I told him upfront I was calling about a broken thing, I found the discussion to be irritating. Wow, where do I start? I'm a 67-year-old guy that can get around on a computer and I am just knowledgeable enough to get myself in trouble! Well, I got hacked yesterday and in a pretty bad way. I immediately contacted my bank and they froze all of my accounts until I get my computer scanned for malware and/or anything else. I have used 3 different computer technicians in the past to clean up and update things and they all seemed ok but but I felt I might need more of a professional. I figured I would check out some other places near me with 5 STAR reviews. This is where I found "The Computer Guy" in Valencia. He talked in my language, found and removed the malware virus crap that was just put on my computer and removed the junk that was slowing it down. I told Guy that I was going to get a new computer soon and he said to get 3 or 4 different models that I'm interested in and he will let me know which one would be best for my needs.
