The worst thing that could happen to a college student happened to me today. Finals week, I go to turn on my computer and edit my ten page final paper that is due tomorrow and my computer freaks out. I call apple support and after 10 minutes or so they inform me that my computer hard drive has crashed and there is nothing on my computer anymore. Panicking I call Jamie and he tells me to come over and he will do what he can. I go straight there and within 15 minutes of being there he is able to find my paper and put it on a flash drive for me! Apple was wrong and it was just a cable and not the hard drive. I was able to finish my paper and submit it on time. Jaime works magic. He is incredibly helpful and patient, explaining exactly what he is doing so you are not left in the dark. computer doctor 4-32015 As camilo I decided on this guy because the reviews. I wasn't going to write a review my friend who drove that was present urged me. Initial Call: Issue 1: Backup Restore mouse and keyboard become unresponsive,maybe pci Card??? Issue 2: win 7 backup & system image Can't complete errors On empty 1TB Internal drive saying there was not enough space. Issue 3: reinstall windows create system image,once the issues were fixed. Bring Computer In (well not in he just opened it up outside in the yard) takes out the ram says its underpowered. then goes into how bad Raid drives fail,people don't use raid,people don't build computers. which he repeated several times throughout the conversation. suggests I take the drives out of raid configuration & increase the ram. drivers would fix the mouse,keyboard issue I wanted inbuilt windows 7 backup to work,which he doesn't suggest or recommend. and suggested I use acronis disc wizard for system images. after 2 days I call to find out the progress of the computer Everything he told me the day I dropped it off,he was now saying the opposite. Staes windows is working fine,which wasn't an issue.The raid is working fine. and he was making a backup. which made no sense,since it can't be restored.(now I'm glad he never did anything) Did you find out about the RAM,I dont Buy ram for computers. I ask what did you do? "my 2 windows updates". did you at least fix the partition,which he hadn't,however he did before I picked it up. Pickup (again this was outside in the yard) he brings it outside,tells me. I don't recommend what your trying to do,just use your computer. What I'm trying to do is make windows backup and system image work properly just like it does on my other computer. my computer has the same issues as when I brought it in,Except The Partition was resized. This experiance was a joke at best. Brought an external drive to him for recovery. He quoted me at 40 to recover up to 10GB and 70 for recovering more. In the end the drive was mechanically damaged, nothing was recovered, so he referred me to a company and charged me 27 for the attempt/diagnosis, which I guess is fair. A little inconvenient to work around the pick up and drop off times, but the guy is nice, responds very quickly, and seems to do honest work. read more

I have complete faith in Jamie. He debugged my laptop completely when no other computer repairperson could guarantee complete removal of viruses and malware and other malevolence picked up on the web, and he charged less than they quoted me for a non-guaranteed repair. Jamie is so incredibly helpful. My old laptop had water damage and would not turn on. I removed my hard drive and spent years trying to find someone who could back up my data. Apple and many other places told me I need to mail my computer to a different state to get my info and they're not sure if it would even work. I never felt comfortable doing that. When I told Jamie about my problem all he asked was I either provide my own external drive or purchase one from him and if I remembered my computer password just in case it's encrypted. He told me everything will be backed up in no more than a few days. It ended up only taking a day to recover everything at the comfort of not shipping my hard drive to another state with the uncertainty of it even being able to backed up. A couple days after recovering everything, it turns out I purchased a bad external drive that malfunctioned and Jamie offered to recover everything again at no additional cost. Every time I have a problem with my computer I can always reply on Jamie. He has even helped me remotely with something as simple as backing up my current photos to the cloud and my external drive without erasing everything on it. He goes above and beyond with helping people and is someone I can unconditionally trust with all my computer/technology needs. read more

My MacBook pro needed a new battery, he replaced it with one of his spare batteries, and because it might not have worked, he agreed to put in a new battery at no additional fee if I needed it. That's what we did, and it just took an hour! Best prices in town, quick service, and very knowledgeable. I was hesitant to have my computer repaired in the first place, and did NOT want to go to the Apple store. This was a great experience and I recommend it to everybody. read more

He installed an external SSD hard drive on the firewall port to my iMac 2007 to replace my internal hard drive. He knew that replacing the internal hard drive on this model would play havoc with the fan thermal sensor and recommended this solution. One day turn around on the repair and installation of the new Mac OS. Works better than new. read more

Jamie is amazing! He was quick, efficient, and thorough. My 3 year old laptop was super slow when I brought it to him. He took the time to try a few different things and ultimately saved my data and loaded a new operating system. He detected and removed a bad virus too. What I really appreciated was that when I picked the computer up he took the time to go over everything with me, restore my data, and install all the updates so I wouldn't have to. My 4 year old computer was acting sluggish and I decided that it was time to reinstall the OS. I called the Computer Doctor at 5pm and was able to drop my computer off at 7:30 on Saturday night. I left a review on google saying" I called to ask if my laptop could be fixed. I had accidentally spilled coffee on it and turned it off immediately. An hour later, after all of the water had been pushed out by a compressed- gas duster, I turned it back on. Everything was working fine but 6 keys were sticky. I wanted to know if they were able to clean these keys underneath the key board. When I told the man on the phone that I had a ASUS Chromebook, he laughed, said they do not work on computers that have so little value, and told me that no computer repair shop would help me. When I replied with my laptop cost me over $500 dollars he responded with, it is what elementary schools provide for students, the only way to break them is to pour liquid on them which you apparently did. You are better off getting another computer that is capable of doing more then checking your email. He also told me to just keep it off for a few days and hope for the best. The man was extremely rude and assumed that because I had a Chromebook it was worth no more than $150. I have a feeling he treated me this was because I am a female college age student. " and got a very sarcastic/ unprofessional reply from the owner claiming "We appreciate all reviews even funny ones like this". If this is the message they want to send out, that's fine. Just comes across unprofessional and demeaning to most. In a couple other reviews people say they seem to be treated differently due to being a young, female, college student. I was in the same situation and believe they take advantage of women who don't know much about computers. A few days ago my computer got the worst virus known to mankind and it wouldn't let me even log on to my computer. I freaked out because I had a midterm in a few days. Luckily I found Jaime online and he was absolutely amazing! After 2 days my computer was up and running and he had even downloaded a completely new operating system for free with all the updates for me. The price was super cheap for all his hard work. I took my computer to the Computer Doctor at Davis, mostly because of how good were its reviews. However, I must say I was very disappointed by the service I received. My laptop was facing several stability problems related to blue screen of dead, I told the guy in charge that I was almost sure the problem was my hard drive, to which him answered he would rather try to re install a new OS. After 2 days the doctor said to me that the computer was not responding and that he is almost giving up, I insisted about the idea of the HD and he disagreed once again. Finally I picked my computer after 3 days, he asked me 45 dollars and the computer was just as bad a before if not worst. So, convinced about my hypotesis of the HD I took the laptop to another place in Davis, next day I had a new hard drive and now my computer is just as if it was new again. read more
