And to find the the vehicle was left in the parking lot, unlocked, so not only, did he LIE about calling us, he left our vehicle unsecured in a open parking lot in the city of saginaw. A couple of days before my appointment, I called and asked if they could add-on an electrical problem with a headlight and change the headlight and they said yes. I brought my car in a 1/2 hour early. They kept it for over 6 hours before Dennis telephoned me to say they didn't get to work on it because of working on cars from yesterday... really? He apologized and said they could start on it first thing Monday morning. I picked up my car and tires and told Dennis I was very disappointed in being treated this way and I asked if all their customers were treated this way - especially since I made the appointment 7 days prior. Dennis said well, they did have "other" cars to work on... how smug of him. Were the "other" cars on the schedule prior to mine... how ridiculous. This was so disrespectful to me that now, I will not disrespect myself by returning to Hampton Auto Repair to give them my business. It was just a few months ago that I spent over $1,000 there and was a regular customer, but no more. By the way, if I performed My job in this manner there would be consequences. I went there to have an unusual noise checked out. I felt that paying him, $90, for his time and effort was a good decision. As it turns out.....NOT a good decision at all! He diagnosed the noise as the flywheel between the engine and transmission needing to be replaced. In addition, he also listed his needed repairs that were unrelated to my concern. They were axles, steering linkage and suspension parts, and an oil change. He gave an estimate of $3,086 for the cited repairs and I just had the oil changed 1 month ago. I was not told that he would be publicizing my vehicle's VIN and the cited repairs online for anyone (including car dealers) with access to Car-fax to see. When you go to trade in your car or truck after Dale Stroebel gives you an estimate, even if he does not do any work on your car, this information will be published! He told me this after the fact, and after I had visited a car dealership. There was no up front disclosure regarding his use of the information that he gleaned by inspecting my car.

Starting with the good. While their loaner cars are older and not the best at least they have…read moreloaner cars. That's where the good ends. They greatly over charge for parts and labor. Example; the parts they replaced I was charged $180.49 for them and $336 for labor. I called two different Ford dealerships and both said the parts are $70.00. Ford quoted me $375.00 for parts and labor. Hemlock Auto & Alignment charged me $528.12 for the repair. Yes they got me in a couple weeks before the Ford dealer could. Had I known up front how expensive they are I would have waited. After I did get a cost if I had decided to take my car to Ford for the repairs it would have e cost me $160.00 for the quote they gave me. Add that to the $375 at Ford and I'm back up to the same price. Unlike many other businesses they do not Honor Military or Veterans or offer any other type discount. They will not install your own parts even if they are OEM parts. I cannot recommend this establishment or will I ever go back to them for any future repairs. And yes the Ford Dealer has newer, and nicer loaner cars too.
