The governor was friction welding itself to it. There was so much silicon goop'd on the cover and inside the housing. In my opinion, this is very shoddy workmanship on something easy to do correctly. I wouldn't knowingly trust someone to rebuild something as important as a transmission that cant do basic tasks. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I went there to have an unusual noise checked out. I felt that paying him, $90, for his time and effort was a good decision. As it turns out.....NOT a good decision at all! He diagnosed the noise as the flywheel between the engine and transmission needing to be replaced. In addition, he also listed his needed repairs that were unrelated to my concern. They were axles, steering linkage and suspension parts, and an oil change. He gave an estimate of $3,086 for the cited repairs and I just had the oil changed 1 month ago. I was not told that he would be publicizing my vehicle's VIN and the cited repairs online for anyone (including car dealers) with access to Car-fax to see. When you go to trade in your car or truck after Dale Stroebel gives you an estimate, even if he does not do any work on your car, this information will be published! He told me this after the fact, and after I had visited a car dealership. There was no up front disclosure regarding his use of the information that he gleaned by inspecting my car.

I called to let them know that we would be sending a tow truck to pickup the car and was told I owed $75 for the diagnosis. This is after being spoken to very rudely by the secretary. I started to ask the man if he had informed my husband of this bill when they spoke (just so I would know if I had to tell him) and this man went crazy! He would not let me speak, he yelled "do you work for nothing?" He was incredibly disrespectful and rude to me. Even when I was finally able to make this person understand my simple question, he continued to be rude. When I told him how rude he was being, not to mention the secretary, he just announced that there were other customers that she needed to talk to. Let me assure you, Sir...no I do not work for nothing, but I do work in customer service, and if I ever had even a fraction of the attitude I've gotten from your business, I'd be terminated, and rightfully so!

If I could, I would leave 0 stars. I took my car there on a referral from another mechanic, for a…read morepowertrain light and a check engine light. They took my car on March 22 and I got a diagnosis. I had them work on it, I got my car back one week later. It ran great for a day then the light came back on. I dropped it off on Sunday April 2 and called them the following morning to let them know that it was not running again. They did another diagnostic and called and told me that it was going to $1701 to fix. I called back a day later and okayed the work to be done. One, they never told me what that 1701 was going to fix and second, I was never given a time frame. I called once a week for 3 weeks and talked to Doug; all I got was they were sick, they were short staffed and my car was next. I still had no idea what was actually wrong with my car. I ended up calling on Monday April 24 and letting them know that I got my car an appointment at another place and I will be picking it up. All that I got in reply was "OK." My dad picked it up and all they did was hand him the key. Not a word from no body. No answers. So, my car is getting fixed by another shop, and guess what? It needs a new transmission. The work they did had nothing to do with what was actually wrong with the car. I am beyond frustrated, because I have been without my vehicle for going a month and a half. If it was properly diagnosed and fixed, I would be happy customer.

Starting with the good. While their loaner cars are older and not the best at least they have…read moreloaner cars. That's where the good ends. They greatly over charge for parts and labor. Example; the parts they replaced I was charged $180.49 for them and $336 for labor. I called two different Ford dealerships and both said the parts are $70.00. Ford quoted me $375.00 for parts and labor. Hemlock Auto & Alignment charged me $528.12 for the repair. Yes they got me in a couple weeks before the Ford dealer could. Had I known up front how expensive they are I would have waited. After I did get a cost if I had decided to take my car to Ford for the repairs it would have e cost me $160.00 for the quote they gave me. Add that to the $375 at Ford and I'm back up to the same price. Unlike many other businesses they do not Honor Military or Veterans or offer any other type discount. They will not install your own parts even if they are OEM parts. I cannot recommend this establishment or will I ever go back to them for any future repairs. And yes the Ford Dealer has newer, and nicer loaner cars too.
