I was in two years ago and needed to get my air condenser completely replaced. Now, I am left with the same problem that brought me into Dex originally, and am told by a new auto service center that I need it replaced again and the previous replacement was very shotty, low quality work and equipment and that is why it went to shit in less than two years from when Dex replaced mine. I told Dex-Tech that I don't have a lot of money so needed them to let me know of any cost before they did any work. They never requested my approval to take on any additional costs although I made sure to pester them for updates. Apparently I still need my vehicle fixed, but somehow instead of 130.00 they quoted me for diagnosis, they wanted to charge me 585.00 dollars just for the diagnostics...too bad they wouldn't let me have my vehicle with a 575.00 payment until Friday when I would have 20.00 more on payday. They would have been 585 richer and I would have gone on with my life. But instead they said no, "sounds like you'll be walking for another week". So this gave me time to realize they broke Michigan laws by not providing me with an estimate or the option to approve any work or not. Obviously they knew this too and I got my vehicle back. However they did something to it that made it far worse than when I took it into them. IT NOW HAS ROD KNOCKS THAT NEVER EXISTED BEFORE. Very unprofessional, think it through before you trust your hard-earned vehicle with Dex-Tech. Crooked and un-kind. I would never recommend. I will be reporting all of this to the State of Michigan Bureau of Regulatory Services, the Attorney General, et al. read more

Discovered I needed a brake job on Tuesday after hearing the infamous grinding noise. Typically I would have used the dealership but I've noticed a lack in their service quality of late. Called Dex to get a quote and then called my dealership (That left me on hold for 15mins just to get a quote). They wanted quite a bit more of course. Called Dex-Tech back and they got me in on Thursday and finished the job in just over an hour. Great customer service and reasonably priced. Well done Dex-Tech! Do not get a used vehicle inspection here. I was looking at a used car at Serra Saginaw & they recommended that I have it inspected before buying it, so I took it to Dex Tech. I paid around $72 & the guy told me that the only thing wrong with it was that it needed a rear wheel bearing & that the A/C compressor wouldn't engage. Fast forward to this week, less than a month after buying it, I took the vehicle to One Stop in Pinconning to get ONE REAR WHEEL BEARING FIXED, only to find out that not only do BOTH of my front wheel bearings need to be replaced, but the two front axels are so rusted that the mechanic couldn't even get them off without breaking them. So either Dex Tech is in the palm of the dealership's hand, or they're just bad mechanics. Either way, I will not be going back to Dex Tech for any of my vehicle needs, & if you want an honest mechanic, you shouldn't either. read more
