O.M.G!!! Crystal is a miracle worker! I was in Florida for work and after a 6 month deployment I really needed my hair cut and colored... but not just colored, I wanted to go from red to blonde. Crystal worked for hours and was sweet a friendly the entire time. I was a little worried my hair was going to have to be a strawberry blond rather than blond, not with Crystal. Recently moved here to Florida. Thought I would check this salon out due to good yelp reviews and a current groupon special for new customers....so glad I did!! Warm, inviting and clean salon. Everyone was helpful from calling to make an appointment to the front desk to my stylist- Madison. She was WONDERFUL! she took the time to truly listen to my wishes of style/hair coloring I was looking for and I LOVE the results. I came to this location because it is 6 minutes from my home. I get a call in the morning on the day of my appointment that the hairdresser I was scheduled with at 12:30 pm named Judy sprained her ankle and left for the day. I was offered to come see another hairdresser named Chrissy or Christie at 12:30pm or 2:30pm. When I first walked in there was no one at the front desk greeting customers. Rule of thumb, any customer that walks in should be greeted within 3 seconds of eye contact. The hairdresser in the front on the left with long blonde hair older woman saw me and made no attempt to greet me. After 5 minutes of waiting at the desk I sat down. Shortly after, a man with a red shirt and jeans walked in with a letter for someone and that same long hair dresser in the front that ignored me, came to help him. She then grabbed her cellphone and walked away towards the back of the salon. I guess there's no such thing as team work here. I guess the way things work here is..if it's not your customer, then no need to greet new potential customers that bring in new revenue. Then another woman with multicolored hair that was both red and blonde asked me if I had been helped and I said "No" I have an appointment at 12:30pm. She went to inform Chrissy and Chrissy told me they booked me with her in error and that she had another customer. She offered me to come back at another day and time or get a dry cut. Meaning no water or shampoo. I declined. I worked my schedule around this appointment. I am a very busy woman.I am a Quality Assurance auditor and I audit recorded customer service calls for a call center for an insurance company so I know a lot about bad customer service and this is the #1 thing that can destroy a business especially in unprecedented times like we are in now with this pandemic when small businesses are suffering. You need to be on your toes. This was the worst customer service I have ever received at a salon. Perhaps they need to consider a training course for their employees to learn some customer service skills or perhaps they just have a problem with people like me of ethnic culture. Bottom line, don't waste your time here unless you have low standards. You guys just lost a very generous tipping customer that was looking for a forever hairdresser and colorist! read more

I have been going to Sherry's for almost 3 years, it had been a long time since my last visit and my regular stylist had left and after a boxed color catastrophe turned the top half of my hair orange I went to the salon in a panic and Cliff was there help. I cant say enough about Cliff!! He did a wonderful job giving me highlights to break up the orange, you couldn't even tell what had I had done to my hair. I have been back to him again to get touched up and again he didn't disappoint, he also did a great job with the cut. I went to Sarah Saunders for a cut and some natural golden lowlights to define the cut. Very simple. I ended up spending 6 1/2 hours and $250 and her trying to attempting to fix it 4 times. I ended up with skunky grey looking chopped hair. She was so mean and kept reassuring me that she could fix it another day and that no one would refund me. I had a huge event I needed my hair to be flawess for, which I can't attend now. I cried so hard, and Sarah stood there kept assuring me that and I got what I asked for. I cried leaving, went to CVS and am forced to fix this awful mess myself. I would have rather came out BALD!!! read more

I love this salon for my hair needs! Bethany D. has been doing my hair for 7 years with no complaints. She takes her time in getting to know what the customer wants, and always exceeds my expectations. Her expertise has led me to try new looks on my hair that I never thought I could pull off. The only thing stopping me from giving 5/5 stars is the make up. I had my make up done there a couple of years ago and left extremely disappointed. The artist seemed to know a lot about the product, but not about applying it to others. She also stated to me that she was a masseuse, not a make up artist. I purchased a groupon for full highlights and a haircut at Compliments by Sherry, and my when I arrived I was told "KASEY' would be doing my hair. I will admit, when I seen that she was young, mid twenties I was judgmental thinking that I should of gotten a more seasoned person A few minutes later, we went back and I showed her some pictures of the highlights I wanted and she said "No problem" followed up by more questions as to how I would wear my hair etc.I explained what I wanted and "Kasey" EXCEEDED my expectations with great service and conversation. My 2nd time here, Trim $38.00, partial highlights, $70.00 ,root touch up $30.00 total $138.00. Now my first visit to this salon was a bit more at $140.00. Today I was sat in a dirty area with hair all over the floor and chair and left sitting there for 20 minutes. I should have follow my instint and left. But because I have a last minute event to go to on Monday ( work related) I stayed seated. I will not return to this salon. It isnt worth the cost. read more

If i could put zero stars i would. I was PREVIOUSLY in love with this salon, I had my hair colored multiple times but yesterday I left in tears. I went in for simple highlights a caramel color as i am natural brunette and hate the over processed blonde look. The stylist i was booked with I cannot name due to her emailing me and threatening to sue me, and let me tell you to start she was the most UNPROFESSIONAL person i have ever met, regardless of what she did to my hair which i will get to she proceeded to tell me all about her "man" basically her fuck buddy named ricco who lives in Colorado......I DON'T CARE, just color my hair please. I was there for a total of 5 hours and am in the process of calling all hair salons in Jacksonville to see who if anyone can fix my hair. The first round of coloring left my hair DARKER than i went in there with, when i told her of my disappointment she said "you don't always get what you ask for" - excuse me was my response so she ran and got the manager. The manager proceeded to be very snobby like i wasn't good enough to be at her hair salon, mind you the hair salon that just completely messed my hair up. After i explained to the manager what happened and showed her the image i brought in she told the stylist to redo it, so she tried to lighten it by removing toner which did NOTHING, after that she decided to add yet more color back under the dryer i went....as i'm sitting in there she comes and adds more color - why? I don't know! Hours and more applications later i left with HALF BROWN HAIR AND THE "HIGHLIGHTS"WHITE. I have never been more angry or upset. Now that my hair is way over processed I am stuck until it is somewhat healthy enough to recolor. THIS SALON IS NOT WHAT IS USED TO BE. Staff and the management are completely rude. read more

This salon is amazing !! Great atmosphere and very friendly and polite staff. I even used a Groupon and they treated me like a regular. I am extremely cautious on who I let touch my hair . When I came to this salon I instantly felt comfortable . My stylist had been doing hair for over 25 years. Her name was Betty and she does superior work. She was very polite and checked up on me a lot. I got low lights and she asked if I wanted to do a test strip first which really impressed me...She really took her time and I did not feel rushed at all. She seem to really care about my hair as well because she used the wet brush on my hair after she rinsed my hair out instead of a regular brush that would break my hair.. Usually the stylists don't really care about your hair health in my experiences but I could tell she did. I left the salon feeling and looking amazing. I would definitely come back here any day and recommend it to anyone. I've had some terrible experiences it is so refreshing to find a salon like this one! read more

I can only give this place three stars, because I have had my hair styled there and an air brush tan done. I bought a groupon online and Keri took care of me. She gave me a great cut and wonderful highlights. She was even great at keeping a good conversation going. If this review was just about her it would have 5 stars. Because of the wonderful service I received for my hair, I thought buying the air brush tanning for my upcoming beauty pageant would be grand, and just as marvelous as my hair. Wrong. Not all of this is the air brushers fault, so bare with me as I go into detail. One bright and sunny day I called and made an appointment for the air brush tanning, the receptionist said I could come in at 2pm. I dropped off lunch for my dear friend and drove straight over to Sherry's. I called because I was running a few minutes late and wanted to give her a heads up, the receptionist said that was fine because the air brusher was not even there yet. I get there a few minutes after two and she still isn't there... I waited for another thirty minutes and just as I was about to ask if they could call her, she walks in the door. Apparently no one informed her that she had a 2pm client. Since we didn't start until 2:45pm and she had a 3pm coming in, she definitely rushed my air brush. One thing I really did like is that she does give the option to do it with a bathing suit or fully nude. I had a pageant in two days, but my tan was a spotted mess and my fingers were completely orange. My face did look really good, but that was about it. I know she would have done a good job if she had more time, but someone dropped the ball on this one. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so disappointed with my experience here that I just had to. I don't get the chance to get my hair done in a salon very often. I probably go once a year. I help take care of my mother and family on a small income and don't have much money to spend on things like getting my hair done. I wanted to do something special for my mother, so I decided I'd take us out to get our hair done as a special treat. When I arrived, i inquired about getting highlights done and the receptionist said there wasn't enough time. I heard this and got worried, so I specifically asked ahead of time if my hair cut would be rushed. The receptionist assured me it would not be, do I decided to go get a cut and "style" that cost $50. Julie took me back to cut my hair while she was waiting for another client's hair-coloring to be processed. She did a rushed job, didn't do anything I asked her to do with the cut, and hardly blow-dried my hair before sending me on my way to tend to her other (obviously more important) client. It would be one thing if I hadn't asked ahead of time, but I was assured that my hair cut would not be rushed. It made me feel awful. I paid $50 to be treated like I didn't matter and get a basic trim (which is NOT what I asked for). She didn't do anything I asked her to do and made up her mind that what I asked for wouldn't look good, when really, she just couldn't afford the time. It was unprofessional and rude. This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had at a hair salon. I hope I'll have a better experience next year when I have the money again to treat myself to a salon. read more

Today she used olaplex when she colored my hair...it just came on the market and wow I can tell a huge difference. My hair looks so healthy!!
