Apparently Peelu is from fibers in I assume from the Peelu tree of Asia and the Middle East. The gum is cruelty free, sugar free, aspartame free,vegan,wheat free and contains no dairy or soybeans. You probably put two and two together by now that this gum I bought was from a health food store. What I just listed about Peelu gum may sound all very well and good but the gum just lacks taste or maybe a more precise description is that the flavor of the gum lives a very short life. I remember in Woody Allens film Sleeper where he complains about the taste of food at health food stores.
