Great selection of supplements, and placing an order is easy. Order history is very helpful for reordering. Vitamins and supplements can be pricey, but Swanson does send out emails when they have special sales going on. I've been ordering from Swanson for several years. They process your order quickly. Typically 5-6 days from order to delivery. read more

So Swanson texted my a link to place an order. I click it and place my order. I then get a text from them saying that I forgot to add the promo code SCA3D7X5. I go back to the order page and at the very bottom there is a box to enter the promo code and two charges appear on my credit card! The first purchase without the promo discount and then the second one with it. Anyway the good news is on a Saturday afternoon I was able to get somebody in customer care and she took off the first non-discounted charge and just left me with the charge of including the promo code. So kudos to Swanson for having Customer Service on a Saturday afternoon. And that they were able to do something. Too many times these days these people can't do anything but Swanson delivered. They now have a loyal customer for all my supplements read more

A pathetic company with total disrespect and disregard for the customer. They have refused to accept a credit card because it was not issued in the US, even if they had accepted it in the past for years. Only idiots would refuse payment because a credit card (VISA, Mastercard) is issued outside of the US. When I escalated the issue this is what I finally got for an answer, which was totally disrespectful: I am terribly sorry for the frustration caused. I was able to check with a supervisor and they confirmed your orders may not be going through due to the card used. I would suggest trying a US-based card to see if we can narrow down this issue. If it is a card issue, we have recently partnered with iHerb to serve our international customers. Same great Swanson products you love on a site catered to take international cards. I received a 40% off coupon for my first order. When I applied it to my cart, it only removed 5% off. I contacted Swanson and the rep said that the 40% off only applied to certain items. I'm very unhappy with their apparent deception and will not be buying anything from them ever. read more

You already submitted a review for Swanson. If this review is for the same purchase please edit your previous review instead. Pending Zero starsSwansons has a REALLY WEIRD WAY of processing orders. Meaning they don't even put a hold on the money for 24-48 hours THEN they charge shipping SEPARATELY 2-3 days later when they finally ship the order. Oh and good luck getting the order refunded after they've overdrafted your account by charging at weird times, they'll 100% blame the banks and you'll be lucky you get anything back at all. Still waiting on what I thought would be a FULL refund but customer service says is only ten bucks (not my whole purchase) and swears they've already issued despite it not being in my bank. 100% sure they're crooks and I'll be telling everyone I know not to trust them. Please excuse the unnecessary info as I ATTEMPTED MANY TIMES to edit the review only the review box refused to allow me to put the cursor anywhere EXCEPT at the end so no editing is possible. read more

We placed our online order with Swanson on Oct 19, 2024. It is now November 10, 2024 and we still have not received our order. On November 1, 2024, we contacted their customer service via the email shared on their website (customercare@swansonsupport.com). We explained that "our order appears to have gotten lost as it is now going on two weeks since we placed it...plus, the tracking presently shows it is sitting in a Colorado warehouse and hasn't moved since Friday, October 25, 2024. Our confirmation states to expect "delivery within 2-6 days" to the P.O. Box address entered during our ordering process...which is clearly noted on our order confirmation (along with that address). When asked for an explanation for the delay, we received a bunch of mumbo jumbo (canned responses)...and continue to await our order. We've used Swanson on and off for many years...occasionally with mishaps (damaged items, etc.)...and have been able to reasonably sort out these mishaps, but, have clearly not experienced anything like that this time...which, sadly, may have caused a permanent severing of our relationship with them. For us, ridiculousness is not a desired method for doing business. liz c. read more

Not bad until you need customer service, I was shorted an order and reached out 3 times, never got a response back. I will take further action and not do business with them anymore, several years ago I the same issue with Vitaminshoppe and they immediately took action, Swanson has lost my confidence, I have no reason to think they treat the quality of their branded products with the same lack of attention. read more

I've been a customer with Swanson for many years. Their products look to be what they say on the labels. And they're mostly affordable. However, I had to wait almost 2 weeks, and still no product. Very disappointing. And there was no tracking information emailed to me. I believe i only got the vitamins rushed to me because i called them, and demanded a status. Hence the mediocre rating. Great products, but they really need to improve their shipping/tracking system. read more

Beware! They are trying to charge me a $20.77 handling charge on a partial shipment of a $38.60 order which was touted as having free shipping. Update. It seems to be only sloppy reporting. After 5 years of suggesting they should have online cancellation "feature," on their website -- they still don't have it. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I received an email saying 'thank you for your order' confirmation for almost $65. worth of items. I had not ordered anything. The order was placed by someone in Georgia, and was to be sent to someone with my name in Texas. I live in New Hampshire. The customer's name and address were clearly stated on the order and it was not me. Someone there was too stupid or lazy to make sure the order went to the correct account, and just picked the first person in their files with my name (evidently). This was the beginning of a nightmare. I immediately called them trying to correct the situation promptly. I got nowhere on the phone, with the foreign person telling me they would 'talk to the supervisor' and get back to me. They never did. Instead they sent another email saying "MY" order had been cancelled! (It wasn't my order, you idiots!) They also said my account was "flagged" and I should change my email address and my password. Are you kidding??? UM, NO! They actually tried to punish me for their stupidity. (I have lived at my address in NH for over 25 years, and had my email address for almost 20. The person who actually ordered has the same name, but lives in TEXAS. I have never lived in TX). In addition. the person who actually ordered this merchandise has still not been informed that their order was cancelled because they emailed me instead of to the email address of the 'orderer'! All this has just happened this week. In addition to trying to resolve this by phone and getting nowhere, I emailed them multiple times, also to no avail. I found the email address of their LEGAL DEPT. and I have just emailed not only customer care but also the legal dept. and demanded that they completely DELETE MY ACCOUNT, AND ALL MY INFORMATION from their site. If I don't receive confirmation of this, we will have our attorney contact them. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN, and want everything deleted from their site, and to be taken off their mailing list. STRONGLY ADVISE that you buy elsewhere. I have now found very good deals on what I need on Amazon, and it's not Swanson brand. read more

Customer care Swanson vitamins, I received my vitamins on May 13, 2020 under the Order #: 75175520 and Order Date: 05/08/2020. I was very upset and angry when I saw the package. You shipped my vitamins in a cheap thin plastic bag. All of my vitamins with small boxes were squashed and a section of the plastic bag was torn. You should've never shipped my vitamins of total $90 in a cheap thin plastic bag. Instead you should've ship them in a secure cardboard box. Whenever I order vitamins through Lucky Vitamins or Amazon, they always ship them in a secure cardboard box. So I'm not sure weather I would order my vitamins anymore through Swanson or not ! For years I was a satisfied customer of Swanson pharmaceuticals to purchase vitamins and supplements. Either ownership or management has changed, and ordering is now a horror show. Yesterday I started an online order to restock things I had depleted and could not check out because a chat box pops up on the checkout page and blocks access to closing checkout. This happens whether you use Paypal or a card. I advise now not using a card. I tried chat and received a "closed" message. I next tried calling customer service and met a recording that my call was received "after hours" and the recording noted to call back during normal hours. Spent two hours trying to get through their defective (designed?) checkout. Next day, I returned to the Swanson site, logged in, and tried to check out my cart. Same cart appeared- now with a price of $81.06 - Also, same defect of chat blocking checkout. I try another web browser and see same defect problem but my cart price jumps to above $93. I call customer service and after an interminable wait I am connected to an obvious call center which I learn is in the Phillipines. The respondent discloses they cannot do anything about the live chat blocking checkout. I ask to be connected to a manager in HQ and I get put on hold and bounced around to more Phillipinos. One finally gets me a transfer to the states who starts playing the helplessness game too and starts to hand off my call to yet another person. While on hold, I think maybe if I can set my cursor arrow at the low end of the page and can click the checkout box before the live chat box loads to block the page, I might get my stuff and get out. After two failures I succeed in beating the live chat reload, but the checkout price is now $101 and I'm charged for shipping that was free when I started. Why should any company need a live chat popup on the cart checkout link anyway? Another two hours shot, and I'm through. When it was operated from Utah, it was great. With whatever happened, it is now a nightmare, I won't go back again and I advise no one else to buy here either. read more

This is to explain to all Yelp reviewers and writers that when you write a review of a local store that's great! Re : Unsubscibing from Emails There was no place to "Unsuscibe" at the bottom of the Swanson emails. I had to click on "Reply" to ask to be unsubscribed. Four days later, I had to do it again, mentioning that further emails will be sent to "Spam". They then replied with an email that it would take "24-48 hours" Emails have since stopped. Re ". Response from Swanson about Refund (the reason for initial review) I waited a few days for a response from Swanson to my email about questionable refund and company practices in general before writing my initial Yelp review about them and unsubscribing from their emails. Since I unsubscribed by sending a "Reply" email, I also mentioned that if I ever noticed good Yelp reviews--as opposed to the many bad reviews by other disappointed, long - time customers - - about their company, I would probably reconsider doing business with them. Coincidentally (??), one hour and two minutes after sending my unsubscribe email, I received a very nice email that explained how they processed the credit in detail, apologized for condition of the shipment and sent a link to a $15 Off coupon. If they could have taken the time to send that detailed email explaining how they were processing the credit when they first issued the credit, this would have been a different review and I would still be a customer, however, I would not be ordering any canned goods. Unfortunately, it took three additional phone calls and two emails to have them explain exactly how they processed the refund this time. This used to be such a fine company. I just don't want to spend the time or have the patience to deal with them these days. read more

This company is very deceitful in selling vitamins. They do not put accurate information on the front of the label for what you are purchasing. I purchased Albion Magnesium Glycinate, 133 mg per capsule. My husband was going to purchase this product because this is the best form of magnesium to take. When you read Swanson's label on the back; in fine print, it says (and Magnesium Oxide). This is the cheapest form of magnesium and the least absorbed in your body; but, the front of the label in big letters says Magnesium Glycinate! I will bet it has very little of the more expensive magnesium in it. They use deceitful and misleading information in the vitamins they sell. READ THE LABEL...I didn't read the fine print and got snookered!! I now have 8 bottles of this poor quality product remaining. I am a long time customer; but, I am done with Swanson Vitamins. Oh! And, when you go to leave a review on a product, if you give it one star; Swanson blocks you from posting the review. Very unethical company! read more

I am writing this review on Yelp because Swanson will not accept a poor review on their web site! I know this because I tried to post a review that I wasted my money on one of their products and they rejected my review! They sent me an e-mail that it didn't meet their criteria! Ha! I ordered 4 bottles of Keratin that was supposed to be for my hair. I not only didn't see any benefit from taking the product, but more hair started coming out than before I took it! I thought it was strange that there was only a few reviews of the product and those few were all 5 star. Now I know why! I doubt if those reviews were even from actual customers. So, I just want to warn people not to believe the reviews on this company's web site! They have lost me as a customer and I will never again give my business to a company that won't let a customer post an honest and truthful review. read more

Products arrived on the 10th day after payment. Products arrived in very thin shipping bag, with no padding or protection. Very bad shipping and handling from a very good company. Will order Swanson products from reputable sellers now on that package the products as they are supposed to be. It's incredulous that the maker of its own products doesn't care enough about them to package them professionally. Instead, Swanson's takes the absolute lowest bidder route. I was right, however. I've been doing business with Swanson for a number of years, but today was the last. So, I waited 10 mins. & found out it was the other country & then they transferred me so I had to wait again. No, there is no separate tel. no. Not only is the phone service getting slower, but I'm not amenable to supporting employees in the PHilippines. I have been a long time online customer of Swanson, but I will never over from Swanson again. I purchased during a 35% off sale, however the items ordered were backordered. At the time I authorized the order (last week), my total included the 35% discount. Today I received an email that my order had shipped, however instead of $102 I was being billed $157. I contacted Swanson via their chat function of their website and "spoke" to Nick. Nick said he didn't know how that happened, and I would receive the over billed funds within 3-5 days. I brought up concerns I had recording this response such as, how do I know this will not happen again? What about your other customers? I just happened to notice that I was billed incorrectly. I was given no assurance this would not happen again. I was not told that they would do anything to look into why this error occurred or if they would be looking into any other customer orders to confirm that the mistake did not effect anyone else. I was not even offered a coupon for future orders. When I stated that I was unhappy that my $50 that I had not authorized would not be refunded for 3-5 days, Nick's Response was basically, that is how it works. The product I bought was great - lemonade-flavored Ultima Electrolyte Replenisher, but it took a week and a half to get here because Swanson chose Fedex Smartpost to send it without letting me know they had chosen this method, which is slower than the Pony Express. When I wrote a review, Swanson refused to publish it because I mentioned a competitor (Amazon) and I complained about shipping. Hey Swanson - you are responsible for choosing this shipping method (and you charged me for it). I was simply alerting their potential customers to the fact that they could have gotten free shipping with Amazon Prime and they made a bad choice shipping by Fedex Smart Post. For those of you who don't know what Smartpost is, it is a combination of Fedex and USPS. The product is picked up by the vendor and held in a warehouse until there are enough packages to ship via USPS. It arrives in your mailbox - not at your doorstep like regular Fedex. Because it has to wait in this holding cell, it usually takes 3 weeks to receive your package - archaic by today's standards. read more

I've tried them all, and this IS the best for supplements and other health-related items. . Besides having a wide selection of various supplements & brands (NOT only the excellent Swanson brand) , and great periodic discount offers via email (especially on larger purchases of $50-100-150), and free shipping on $50 or more, I find Swanson's LIVE customer phone service to be a rarity nowadays - very efficiemt, fast & helpful. This, as opposed to some similar outlets (like iHerb), where you need to move mountains to speak to a live person about an order or a problem if needed Great work Swanson! If you sign up for their emails you will be alerted to discount offers and sales. Shipment is even faster (2 days) if you buy enough to use their "Shoprunner " service. Using Shoprunner also avoids the recently added $1.99 fuel surcharge on all deliveries - AND it's very fast. Normal delivery is 2 to 5 days. If you have difficulty tracking a shipment simply call the automated service at 800-824-4491, where you can input your order number. It' also the phone number for live customer service & [hone orders (option 3). In addition if an item is lost or not right for you then are very accomodating in replacing it or issuing a credit. Previous Swanson website order (see my past review) managed, somehow, to ship by slowest possible ground service after I'd paid for overnight shipping -- which was acknowledged, the order completed and checked by Swanson personnel, shipping label generated PRESUMABLY with electronic contact from Swanson to UPS, as most firms do it. Discovering the gaffe was left to me, using the tracking number Swanson provided. (I struggle to see how such a situation could even happen, given the checks normal in e-commerce.) This time, the exasperating surprises were different. So much for rebuilding my confidence! Aware of Swanson's noon-Central-Time expedited-ship order deadline, I started an order midweek 11:38 AM CT. It took 28 busy minutes, mostly spent grappling with Swanson's RELENTLESSLY problematic e-commerce design. Details: 11:38 CT My login as a past customer was held up, Swanson demanding new, email-based username. That's reasonable. I also agreed to a pop-up offer, '10% off plus Free Shipping on Today's Order,' in exchange for accepting Swanson promotional emails. 11:48 CT Email acknowledgment arrived: 'You have successfully changed your username. To log into your account: [on website] Click the "log in" tab on the upper right corner.' Not a tab, but a hyperlink, said "Sign In," not "log in." And DIDN'T WORK. Missing from the ack email was mention of a separate "Validation Email" (requiring a link clicked). I found it cited elsewhere. Only, no Validation Email was in my inbox. 11:51 CT, I clicked a website option to RE-SEND the Validation Email. 11:51 CT, Validation Email arrived; I clicked as instructed. REJECTED: Code Obsolete. More checking: TWO Validation Emails had come at 11:51 CT (as if clicking "RE-SEND" dislodged the first Validation Email from a Swanson queue, but obsoleted it, and sent another). I could then enter my order. In payment phase, no ''10% off plus Free Shipping" -- promised at the start -- appeared. The standard of e-commerce practice is: if customer accepts a pop-up discount offer on the site, that offer propagates through to the order form. Swanson DID NOT do so. After searching for my missing "10% off" -- under time pressure since I'd already passed Swanson's 12:00 CT deadline due to other Swanson website surprises -- I chose expedited ship, completing the order 12:06 CT. This time, the shipment went out promptly with correct shipping option. Eventually I found, in the Swanson email message flurry, one reiterating "I'm giving you 10% off". Buried in that long, chatty message (13 pphs. not counting fine print) was a link: "click now to activate your 10% Off + Free Shipping." BAD MOVE. Pop-ups promising '10% off plus Free Shipping on Today's Order' (and on Login page, "Sign Up Today For 10% Off: Enter Your Email") create an expectation that such will happen. NEITHER written offer mentioned a separate email step, and it's unclear why Swanson even organizes it so: the website had my identity, and could have propagated the discount and shipping offer right to the order form, IF configured to. THAT'S HOW OTHER E-COMMERCE SITES DO IT in my experience. And, as with the wrong shipment method in previous order, there was NO PROACTIVE FOLLOW-UP to this gaffe. Swanson possesses electronic records showing that I accepted an offer for '10% off plus Free Shipping on Today's Order' and that no 10% discount occurred. Swanson could CATCH such discrepancies automatically, but again, they don't care enough. It falls to the customer to bring this Swanson problem to Swanson's attention (I'm doing so, will report response). The impression continues of a firm with good products, many conscientious people, but hamstrung by an exasperating SUB-STANDARD commerce website. When year after year, Swanson employees apologize for the latest website issue, but new errors appear next time I order, this problem at Swanson is DEEP. Today when I think Swanson, it isn't products that come to mind, but ever-surprising dreadful e-commerce design. Were I a Swanson senior manager with P&L responsibility, I'd be CENTRALLY CONCERNED over Swanson's e-commerce presence -- surely, a major Swanson retail channel. Start by personally using other e-commerce sites like Amazon or Zappos, to learn how good examples work. And examine effects of your website initiatives in combination. (Example: email message acknowledging "successful username change" may need modifying, when you ask everyone both to change their username and to confirm it with a separate Validation Email step. Or, send the "successful username change" message AFTER the Validation step.) I'm now getting daily promotional emails (my side of a bargain that Swanson didn't fulfill) -- daily reminders of the "10% Discount" screw-up. Yet again I question whether this firm's good products justify the relentless, UNNECESSARY problems. read more

I usually shop from another (cheaper with more items I use) online company however, they were out of my protein bars so I used Swanson. As far as the company itself I would give them 3-4 stars. But...they use smartpost or whatever to ship. Packages start with FedEx who is GREAT and end up being handed off to USPS. USPS lost my package. They claim it was delivered a week ago but NO...it wasn't. They are delivering to a criminal law office. I promise-it never arrived. They are still trying to figure out WHO they handed it to but I know it was no one here AND that it is forever lost. (I also bet my bars are melted considering the heat we have had or whoever they delivered it to ate them or tossed them...) Unfortunately for Swanson, I will no longer be shopping from them because of how they choose to ship. I can't stand the USPS hand-offs. This is the second time something has been lost (not the second time with Swanson but with the package either starting with FedEx or UPS) with this type of shipping. Company wants to save money but in the end, it's costing them more when things continuously get lost.
