We go here to get awesome Asian sauces, (Oyster sauce is a must for amazing beef & broccoli stir fry.) cooking wines, produce, Bulgarian feta cheese, plantains, sesame seeds, spices, herbs, bok choy, mushrooms, aloe vera leaves, etc. (A lot of great items.) Then we usually take risks and find many other fantastic and unique items that normal grocery stores simply don't carry. They have a great selection of noodles too. The prices are reasonable and one of the key reasons to shop here. We used to have drive all the way to the Twin Cities to do our Asian Grocery shopping. Lotus Blossom changed that. Carefully plan ahead, do a lot of Asian / African foods research as it can be overwhelming, make a list and spend almost an hour looking around, take notes. There is a LOT to see and learn about. The owners are awesome. We come here every season to stock up then rush home to get cooking superbly amazing food!!! Love this store! Tip: We are always frustrated if we forgot to bring a big cooler with ice or didn't plan for enough time to look around more.

Located in the West Acres Mall in Fargo, Minn Dak sports tons of local business efforts. As someone who grew up in North & South Dakota, I never even realized there were that many brands that come from our homeland, but it was so fun to see and definitely made me feel a sense of pride over how far we've come. You can get some pretty classic tacky tourist stuff, like "uffda", "doncha know", "ope", or other funny Minn- Dak sayings on magnets and stickers. There's lots of college gear from UND or NDSU to sport and decorate with. But the food products are by far the spotlight here- the newly famed and ND originated Dot's pretzels are of course sold here. There's locally based chocolates, cheese, jams, honey, hot sauce, peanut butter, popcorn and so much more. You can spend a lot of time just walking around the store and seeing all there is to offer. This was the perfect place to buy my FL friend some homegrown ND stuff. The young man working was also super helpful when I asked his opinion on what to get my friend (should have gotten his name!). (not to be aggressive, but my mom always puts an 's' on things when they AREN'T there, why is that such a mom thing?? lolll) The more I visit ALDI's, the more I like them. They're not a snobby, high end grocery stores by any means, and I love that. They sell a lot of the same things you can find at Target, Walmart or other, except for way better prices. I mean, this also means they are kind of random brands that no ones ever heard of, but they do the same thing for a lower price so I can't see why that would ever be a problem. Yes, ALDI doesn't have ALDI-eeze things (they don't have necessarily everything you might need in a store run, sorry I had to take that pun opportunity), of course, but this location in South Fargo has the most of a lot that I've seen. One of my favorite things to get here, randomly enough, is their protein powder. They have two simple flavors- vanilla and chocolate, but they're fantastically priced and taste really good post workouts, so if you're an active person I'd give them a try. Also, if you want to use a shopping cart when you go to ALDI, make sure you have a quarter on hand. I'll let you figure that out for yourself.
