I had such an incredible experience at this coffee shop today. I got a pourover with hot milk and a breakfast sandwich with no bread (because I don't eat bread). They carefully made the sandwich for me, after cleaning the prep area. I SO appreciate them never acting like I was being a pain in the ass, even though I was being a complete pain in the ass. The sandwich was delicious - it came with a topping, maybe pesto (I don't know, but it had fresh chopped garlic, so I was all in!) I also have to say it was three of the most attractive baristas I have ever seen assembled in a coffee shop. I'm convinced there was a movie being filmed there and, as soon as I left the scene, the director shouted, "Cut!" read more

While visiting Fargo, it was difficult to find good coffee. A Fargo resident agreed with me on this. Thunder Coffee is a good option if you're visiting Fargo. This place isn't far from the downtown area and right off Main Avenue (94 & route 10). I like that Thunder Coffee offers you the option to-go coffee or in a ceramic mug if you choose to drink it there. I liked that the dining area was open, not too cramped and that there are plenty of places to sit. If I lived in Fargo, I would frequent this place. Another great amenity for this area is that there is a bookstore next door to Thunder Coffee. Make sure you stop at the bookstore on the way to Thunder Coffee or when leaving. Thunder Coffee has many hot or cold beverage options, sweet breads and breakfast sandwiches. You may order it online at their website and pick it up. I ordered a cup of regular coffee and drank it there. I liked the ambiance and energy of this place. Service was good as well. Well, I'll just say it- this is easily one of the best coffee shops in Fargo! And let it be known, that actually means something because Fargo has quite a few cool coffee joints. But Thunder Coffee really finds a way to stand out. Their coffee is wonderful- there's a special matcha latte that has lemon and rose syrup in it, and I know how odd a combo it sounds, but it's one of the best coffees I've ever tried. Super refreshing and subtle- I never was much a fan of matcha, and this coffee made me change my mind. They have a small selection of pastries that are all great too. The atmosphere is awesome, just what you would hope for at a coffee shop. It's laid back, quiet, soothing, and the gentle decorations all add up to being perfect. I love all of the potted plants they have sitting around and that they have labeled what each one is, and not to mention how cool the chandelier is!!! All of the workers have been so nice every time I've gone. Really, what a freaking cool place- you won't be disappointed coming here. They really bring the Thunder and Lightning. read more

Modern and inviting. Tons of natural light and plants. White walls, warm woods, minimal but thoughtful decor. Good music, not overpowering. Table, couch, and bar seating. Seemed like there were outlets available for about half the seats, if you needed to work on a computer here. There was also a conference room in the back, not sure if it's a reserved space. Overall, I found myself sitting and enjoying my coffee much longer than expected due to the cool atmosphere. Speaking of coffee, I just had a drip coffee & it was rich and flavorful. Really enjoyable. I also tried the lemon poppyseed bread. While it was moist, it was very lemon forward (in an artificial way) - honestly didn't love the bread. *Note, they did not have any food offerings, I would've loved to see a breakfast burrito or egg sandwich on the menu. It's a not too busy and crazy that you can get work/homework done but busking enough that it's not too quiet of an atmosphere. However, when I do know where they are or come across them, I often stop by for a coffee. I love the taste of their coffee. The staff is great and you may not find a nicer guy than Dexter. He'll engage in friendly conversation while making your drink. I look forward to seeing Thunder Coffee flourish.
