    * * * WARNING * * * BUYER BEWARE * * * TL/DR: DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY Alan (Chris) reeled me in with simple small job that he did well, quickly, & reliably. So I asked him back to figure out water accumulating in my garage from NOT the water heater. He figured it'd be coming from the shower in the master bathroom, and I provided a couple THOUSAND dollars up front to get the project started (on 3/28). Was told it should take 2-3 days to complete... It is now 4/29, over a full month later, and my job is halfway done... I have not seen the materials my money supposedly purchased. He knew from the first job that we had 3 dogs in the house & still brought a helper that was AFRAID OF DOGS to my house, so my poor dogs were forced into the backyard for many hours... while this "helper" played music on his phone speaker in the master bathroom while my boyfriend was SET UP IN THE ADJOINING ROOM, WORKING remotely. He did not prepare me for 3rd parties showing up to do parts of the job. He did not even tell me his business name is Alan even though he introduced himself to me as Chris... which almost led to me sending his contractor home. I asked not to start work prior to 9:30 which was acknowledged up front but later became a point of contention as he explained his contractor was driving across town to my house & needed to be there early- but he'd failed to push back to tell me this was needed. I mentioned his less-than-professional communication, I thought did it gently & suggested there was room for improvement, but I only noticed that he got worse after I said something. I can't recall if he ever even came back on site after that, tbh... but his contractor came back once or twice. Contractor had to leave early the last day he showed, because my boyfriend needed to visit an emergency vet, BUT the contractor did NOT have the tile that initially caused us a ~week's delays, but was never brought on site ahead of the work. He also asked to show up a day or 2 early to unload materials but that never happened. My dad luckily stopped by before "extra" jack-hammering work was to be done in the shower pan drain area & confirmed that there was no leaks in my piping, and suggested this company might not LICENSED and asked why they hadn't opened more of tge drywall to confirm location of the leak before DISASSEMBLING MY ENTIRE SHOWER TO SEARCH. When he told me he'd need to charge me more for drilling done to reseat the shower pan drain, I asked him for a new quote. Then, I repeatedly asked for an updated quote for A SOLID WEEK. He has refused to respond after 4 asks for updated quote & so here's my final response.... hopefully there is more forethought on his future customer interactions and he pauses to remember that I contracted him THRU YELP. so, this review should come as no surprise. Chris, I tried. You, unfortunately, did not.

Here's the photo I shared with Chris as inspiration.

Update: I had another project I wanted to do and reached back out to Chris who won my bid again with his competitive pricing. He and his crew did a fantastic job renovating my garage. They added a fresh coat of paint on my walls and ceiling, installed some trim around the floor, and covered up my cracked cement floor with a layer of epoxy and flakes. Thanks again for your help completing another successful project!

This is what I got along with an immediate demand for payment. Alan decided to lower the shelf without approval.

My request: 1. Tile backsplash (this was completed as requested) 2. Replace 2 broken doors, rebuild the drawer. (they got repaired not replaced) 3. Sand and paint the cabinets. (Not convinced they sanded anything) 4. Install a shelf high above the sink. Smaller shelf below. (see photos) 5. Install new toilet. (This was completed quickly and efficently) Photo was provided of the kind of shelf I wanted. (see attached) Another photo was provided of the room with markings to show exact placement of tile and shelves. Hopefully, these after photos will help you decide for yourself if you trust Alan with your remodel. Be sure to read the text messages I recieved after I pointed out this is not what I requested. I have been waiting two weeks now for Alan to address these issues. Even after agreement on the phone that he would fix the shelf. He blew me off again this morning. For the last time. I will be looking for a new contractor to fix the shelf and the damage to my property. Expensive lesson for me. Final comment: He is really good at demanding payment! Even before he has completed the work! Even when he knows you are not happy! Thanks for reading.

Pricing was very fair, got to it very quickly, very happy with the way our kitchen looks now. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Alan did excellent handiwork for me at my home, he was responsive, polite and solved the issues on the spot with a fair price.

Koren was super pleasant to work with all around. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. A lot of a great ideas during the initial meeting, for how to keep our project within budget, and where it was worth splurging or dialing back. We had requested a bid on two main projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were shocked by how much of the "bonus" projects we could fit in, and yet felt very confident with Koren's insights that these were realistically within our budget. The formal quote came in REALLY fast after our meeting, and was very easy to follow and extremely fairly priced. Was very impressed with how quickly they were ready to begin the work, and the forethought of asking us if we planned to "live-in" during the remodel vs. get an AirBNB or the like. We hadn't even thought of that. Would have been very confident in moving forward with ATX Remodeling. Especially as Koren had so many examples of the type of elaborate communication and oversight we would have at every stage of the process.

We contracted with LFM to remodel a small kids bathroom and had a great experience with Tommy,…read moreJose, and the rest of their crew. The bathroom had not been updated since the 70s and a small leak from the plumbing was starting to cause water spots on the ceiling of the room below. We had several companies come out to bid on the project but ultimately chose LFM because we trusted them and worked well with Tommy. The project went smoothly and Tommy frequently stopped by to check on progress. I really liked the WhatsApp thread used to communicate since it kept everyone on the same page. They also provided an easy to use spreadsheet to help track what we needed to purchase for the project and when we would need it. Tommy was always great to jump in and provide recommendations when we got stuck since this was our first remodel project. Our goal was to open up the room as much as possible since it was originally small and crammed. Tommy and Jose did a great job providing recommendations and confirming what we could and couldn't due with the space. They ended up creating a lot more space by removing a doorway frame, removing unnecessary soffits, and converting the door to a pocket door. The rest of the crew was always friendly and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. They were also easy to work with for any remaining punch list items. We love the final result and the kids are so happy to have a new (pink) bathroom to use. We also ended up adding a few small projects at the end since we had such a good experience with the team. We had them re-insulate our attic, including removal of the old insulation and foam boards. They also demoed a built-in cabinet in our hallway and repaired the wall so we can make the space more usable. Overall the LFM team was great to work with and we'll reach out again for our next project!

Horrible company and a very disappointing experience. We hired this company based on the positive…read morereviews, expecting professional and honest work. The contract was to insulate and drywall our detached garage, including R-30 wall and attic insulation, which we paid for in full. Unfortunately, their subcontractor installed R-15 insulation in the walls instead of the agreed-upon R-30. The attic was also only partially insulated. Because the attic was difficult to access, I asked the company to provide pictures showing the completed insulation. They sent me photos claiming to show our attic, but the pictures were actually of someone else's attic. I did not discover this until later, when an HVAC company was working in our attic and showed me pictures confirming that the insulation was only partially installed. This was not simply poor workmanship--it was misleading and dishonest. We paid for work that was not completed according to the contract, and we were given pictures that did not even show our property. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. Be extremely careful and verify the work yourself before making any final payment.

The bathtub in our rental property was in desperate need of repair after our tenant moved out (see…read morethe before pictures I've posted). I didn't have the budget to do a complete renovation so I got onto Yelp to find a reasonably priced company that would do a decent job resurfacing. Out of all the companies I contacted, Jose was the first person to respond to my request for a quote (he reached out to me in an hour or so). I read a review on here that says he does the classic "under promise and over deliver." I completely agree. He gave me a quote, but warned me it could be higher if they found some issues when they dug into the work. Thankfully we had none of those issues! We nailed down the scheduling over text, which for me is the most convenient way to schedule these kinds of things. He was very communicative when he needed to change the schedule by a day. Also, he was incredibly polite, professional, and attentive in all my interactions with him. They did the job in about 4 hours and I was blown away by how nice it looks. Not only did he fix the cracks and holes in the tub, but he also removed an outdated metal bar (for handing washcloths) and completely restored the tile around the top of the tub. The whole bathtub started as a dingy yellowed thing, and now gleams in a beautiful white color. Again, see the after pictures I posted. After they finished, Jose verbally went over how to care for the tub with me, and then he emailed me written instructions as well. In addition to that, Jose also gave me suggestions for replacing the hardware in the shower (you'll notice in the pictures there's no shower head or water handles...those are coming soon:). I highly recommend Jose and All Surface Renew. When it comes time to resurface the tub in my other property, I'll be contacting Jose again!

But I shot over a picture to All Surface, they said they could handle it, they refinished it, and it literally looks like it rolled straight out of the factory (and for roughly 1/4th the price of a replacement). The work is perfect, communications great, the price for the amount of work is very fair, and we are thrilled with the end result. These guys get 5 out of 5 with no need to round up ... I'd give 'em a 6 out of 5 if I could :-)
