Horrible dental office. DO NOT USE THEM. Rude staff. Incompetent dentist. I went there when I lost one of my veeneers. Had to use this office because they are on my dental plan and close to where I live. The dentist, Dr. Ilan, claimed he doesn't do veeneers even though I had the piece that fell off, and told me he would fix the problem with a crown. The doctor is very rough and does not have any kind of bedside manner. He filed down the tooth in question and put a temporary crown in. The first time I went back to get my permanent crown, it didn't fit correctly so they ordered a new one. The second time I went back he knocked out another of my veneers when trying, roughly I might add, to remove the temporary crown. When this happened he left the room and left the explanation of what happened to his dental assistant and office manager to explain to me. He never apologized or even tried to comfort me. So when I got upset and questioned how he was going to fix this, I was told he would glue the veneer back in. So if this was the case that he could glue it back in, why didn't he do that to the first veneer I lost instead of charging me a $250.00 co pay for a crown. I had the piece that fell off, but was told he doesn't do veneers. I left the office without my crown, plus another tooth that has to be fixed by another dentist due to his incompetence. He was rude when I left because I told him he was a sh&&&y dentist. He rudely asked what made me an expert on dentistry so I told him my mouth and the fact that he messed up a tooth that wasn't mess up to begin with. read more

If you want a nice, caring, helpful dentist, do NOT go to Dr. Ilan! I went there for a consultation and he was rude, not helpful and made me feel worse than i felt when i got there! With all the technology these days and plus what it says on his website, I thought I'd have a nice consultation discussing the options i have to fix my mouth, but that was far from what happened. He said i was too far gone and there was nothing he could do! I only went there because he took my insurance and on his website it says he does dentures, implants etc., but he didn't discuss any options with me! I went for an annual checkup for the first time Sept. 2022. It was a different Dr. than who is on the website. He spent the next 45 minutes chatting about himself but my actual cleaning lasted about 6 minutes. I am not returning. read more

NEW CLIENTS BEWARE!!!!!! This dentist experience is the exact reason why people become fearful of going to the dentist. Dr. ILAN was very rough with his tools during my cleaning I felt like he was going to chip a tooth the way he was cracking his equipment around my teeth. I must have been in the chair no long then 4 minutes tops for a quick painful cleaning. I told him my teeth were very sensitive and with no regard he quickly rushed through my cleaning... to the point I kept shuttering from the pain of his very rough cleaning. This is a very shady dentist office, just performing at minimal standards to get paid from insurance. Ohh how I wish i would have read the reviews before making this appointment. Stupid stupid me! Where to begin.. I brought my son in for his appointment. Upon checking in I walked into a loud conversation between what I thought was the receptionist but later realized was actually the dentist. He was on his cell through speaker and appeared to be reading his rude response to either an email or a review i am not sure (I didn't hear the first correspondence of which he was replying). He didn't even look up to great us. (First red flag). Then he finally handed me a tablet to fill out papery. He hadn't appeared to have sanitize it prior. I took caution while using it and immediately sanitized my hands. So as I sat down I realized i was not the only patient in the very small waiting room. Definitely under 6 feet between us. (I seriously should have ran at this point). So the appointment went on and they called my sons name. The girl that took his X-rays was very nice I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. She told me that i was to stay in the waiting room while he went back alone. Definitely not! I told her politely i thaught the waiting area was way too small and i wasn't comfortable there. Plus of course I'd rather stay with my son. Sooo ya da ya da we went back got X-rays ya da ya da. The doctor came and repeated rudely to me that i had to wait in the other area. I was just fed up at this point and didn't argue. The area now had 2 other people which got my anxiety up even higher. Not even 10 mins later he passed by me quickly and simply said "your son is great" . No explanation no update no recommendations. And walked out of the office . I then saw the very nice girl and like everyone else's review said "he would have said something if he saw anything ". . That was that. No asking if i wanted to return for another appointment (not like I would have) or anything. I took my son and we high tailed it out of there . As we walked into the elevator (and through the bank??) he told me he was in a lot of pain from how rough he was with the tools. So yea... never again will i be so dumb not to do my homework first and never never again will i return to this place. read more

This was by far the worst dentist experience I have ever had. I've never written a yelp review before but feel the need to do so now if only to warn others to stay away and not make my same mistake! While Rachel, the receptionist (and apparently also Dr. Ilan's wife, I later learned?) was exceptionally lovely on the phone, the experience itself was absolutely awful. At one point during the conversation she picked up another phone to speak with him and I could hear him screaming about something in a pretty distressing manner. Despite the red flag, I decided to take a chance. Dr. Ilan seemed friendly enough in the waiting room and curious about the origins of my last name when I first arrived, but the pleasantries ended there. Dr. Ilan spent the time I was waiting in the very small, somewhat shabby office (located inside of a bank?) on the phone with someone for personal business. The hygienist was a bit aggressive in conversation, but more pointedly: cheerily said, "Masks off!" and proceeded to take hers off right before taking my x-rays! I had to ask her to put it back on. In a dentist's office. In the middle of a pandemic. The cleaning itself--I kid you not-- lasted less than two minutes, perhaps one. No exaggeration here. As someone who has sensitive gums, I told them that previous dentists had sometimes applied a bit of numbing anesthetic to help with the pain. He quickly said, "Ok." before proceeding to plow ahead regardless, totally disregarding the comment. After he left I asked the hygienist if I had any cavities, and she said that if Dr. Ilan hand't mentioned anything then probably not. Moments after leaving I checked my mouth and noticed that the peculiar black marking on my tooth remained. I came back and asked if he would take a look to double check (he had no other patients at this time) and he said he could not because my teeth were still bleeding too much from the cleaning to see. Having just looked in the mirror I knew that they certainly were not, and told him so twice before he begrudgingly agreed to take a quick look. He then rudely brushed me off saying quickly that this black spot was nothing to worry about. I will be consulting with another dentist soon to confirm. read more

If there is zero star, I would give it to Dr. Ilan and his office in Peekskill. They kept rescheduling my appointments and when I finally got it, they canceled it again!!! i gave this office and dr. two chances. The first time my husband and I went in for a check up/cleanup. I think filling up our documents lasted longer than the cleanup! Our teeth were cleaned but I felt like they rushed us out of there. This time, I received a reminder call that my six month checkup was up... And so I scheduled it again. On top, I received three texts reminding me about my appointment time. I arrived there more than on time.... and waited more than one hour and a half just to get a cleaning that could have probably lasted for 5 minutes. The problem -beside the waiting time- was that there was no communication whatsoever about how late they were running. A simple we are running about an hour late as soon as you arrive could have helped me prioritize. A simple dr. Needs a break....could have helped. Dr. Ilan acknowledged that I was there for less than one minute and left. I ended up leaving. It worked on their advantage so that they can catch up with the others waiting. read more

A horrible experience not once but twice!!! The dr is rude, unprofessional and bad service. Both time waited 45min to 1hr past my appointment. Today 5/7/2019 went for a cleaning waited more than 45min past my appt.. and it was the worst painful cleaning I ever had. Told him stop and only he could said was "you had enough"? I left that office crying in pain! How can a doctor and human can be so cruel to a patient?? Im thinking report him to the Dental assoc. The total time spent checking my teeth was less than 120 seconds. The dentist swiped across my teeth with the spinny thing in 1 motion in as long as it takes me to unlock my iPhone for the top teeth and the same rush for the bottom teeth. Water sprayed all over my face and ran down my neck. This is the first dental cleaning I've had in a more than a year and, lets face it, most of us don't floss every day - evidently neither does this guy. My teeth could not have been perfect! Aside from the rapid introduction, he only said enough to evade addressing my concern about a recently chipped tooth. I had much higher expectations of a first (and obviously last) visit. Note there are additional reviews which Yelp's software algorithm hasn't flagged as "recommended" consistent with my experience of this office. read more

Dr. Ilan is a superior dentist. I have been a patient here for 5+ years. I have had nothing less than positive experiences. Dr. Ilan is charming; He is warm, kind, and always in a good mood. But most importantly he is honest: I am never told that I need procedures that I do not genuinely need, as I was by many other dentists. Dr. Ilan's procedures are done efficiently, there is minimal wait time before or during the appointments. I will continue to recommend him to all my friends. read more

I saw Dr Ilan in his Pomona office for the first time last week. Rachel who answered the phone was wonderful. I have has terrible experiences in the past with dentists. I thought his staff was wonderful & Dr. Ilan was courteous & professional. I was so happy that I chose this office off of my insurance list! I was very pleased with this office. It has been impossible for me to find a dentist that takes my lousy insurance. I was expecting the worse here, but was surprised by how terrific my experience was . The office in general could use a facelift, but it is squeaky clean. It has modern technology and seems up to date. I was able to check in on an ipad instead of filling out forms. I must have asked a million questions regarding the dental work I need and the dentist was very patient with me. I had one tooth that was bothering me a lot and he offered to remove it right then and there. The tooth removal was quick and I didn't feel anything. The dentist has a really gentle touch. My first experience was reassuring and I feel I will be in good hands here. read more

I have limited choices with my dental plan, which I'm thinking of dropping. I went to get a second opinion after my visit with Dr Ilan and that dentist had totally different recommendations. Ilan wanted to pull 4 teeth, give another a root canal and put in a bridge. The second dentist said to pull 2 teeth, that I didn't need a root canal, that I could do an implant instead of a bridge, and pointed out a tooth that needed a crown (no root canal) that Dr Ilan completely missed. Dr. Ilan also cleaned my teeth with what sounded like a drill. It was VERY uncomfortable. He didn't explain anything to me at all. The second dentist went through all of my options with each of my problem teeth and weighed the pros and cons with each. The problem is that the second dentist is NOT on my plan, and that makes the work very expensive. read more

A horrible experience, I have been in to this office like 3 times and the last time I had fillings done. First of all, all the time I have been there for cleanings the doctor is quick he really doesn't care I should have none right there and than that he is no a good dentist. The last visit I had was for a few fillings that I ask him to do because he kept denying I had cavities so when he started the work it was the worst experience ever, he really DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOUR SMILE!!' he ruined my front tooth which obviously makes my smile and than when I asked him to fix what he ruined he said there is nothing I did wrong it looks fine, after begging he kind of evened it out but still ruined my teeth completely. I have been to this office three times and was impressed by the professionalism of the dentist and staff. The dentist, Dr. Ilan, seemed very confident. He did an extraction during the second visit. I had a broken tooth that was beyond repair. It took him like literally three minutes. I felt like i was in good hands, and that he had done this kind of procedure many times before. He also had really good bedside manner and kept asking how i was doing. While the office is a bit cramped and dated looking, it is squeaky clean the equipment is modern and the xrays are all computerized. I originally picked this office because they were the only office within 10 miles that accepted my insurance. I would absolutely recommend complete dental care, and Dr. Ilan though, even if you have more options with your insurance... read more

I went to see this dentist because I was in pain and my normal dentist of over 10 years stopped taking my insurance. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a dentist!! He didn't even want to come into the room but when he finally did he was rough when he looked in my mouth, didn't treat me nicely, and I felt like I was bothering him. Maybe I'm over sensitive but I left his office crying, between all the pain I was in after he poked and prodded me and how rude he was. I am really grateful though that I needed to be seen by an oral surgeon for my issue because the thought of this guy doing any kind of dental work on me makes me want to cringe. When my husband saw him for an exam a few weeks ago, he said he didn't even say anything and was on his phone. I can't believe this doctor is still in business! read more

I wish I could give NO stars. This dentist is absolutely terrible. He literally bent down at the waist and peered into my 6 year old son's mouth and said "his teeth are fine". Confused, I said "how do you know? You didn't even examine him!" His response was "Oh, you know because you went to dentist school?" Is this idiot kidding me? I told him you didn't have to be a dentist to know what a proper exam looks like. Meanwhile, I happen to KNOW that my son has 3 cavities because we had seen another dentist a week prior (who is not in my network). I only went to this jerk because he's in my network. Never again. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Ilan. The office was small and the music was blasting right in my ear. I received a full dental exam, x-rays and a cleaning, which took all of 20 minutes. I was shocked to find out that they billed my insurance company for $416 plus a $30 co-pay for what was a drive- thru treatment. The dental hygienist was rude and was too quick with the whole exam. I looked online after my treatment and Dr. Ilan's office received 1 out of 5 stars which sounded about right. Also, there was not a lot of staff on hand and all they talked about the entire time was how they couldn't wait for work to end (Right in front of me). I went to my orthodontist a week and a half later for a regular appointment and was asked when my last cleaning was. He was shocked when I told him how recently they had been cleaned and advised me not to revisit this dentist. I was not pleased with Dr. Ilan and his staff and I would NOT recommend going to Dr. Ilan for any reason. read more
