Virgil's Plumbing has been handling our plumbing for years. From freeing up drains to designing a…read morebath layout to reconfiguring our mechanicals to allow for best use of space they've handled many jobs for us. We originally contacted Virgil's Plumbing when we had a stoppage in the mainline for our home. Obviously this is a major issue, as it basically locked up the plumbing for our home. This happened late one evening after hours. We were able to get another company to come out on an emergency basis. That rep of Precision Plumbing proceeded to tell us the drain could not be cleared and we'd have to tear out and replace the line, which would have included tearing up the floor of the home, the patio the line ran under to the septic, etc. He would not even attempt to rod the main, leaving us with no plumbing and handed us a quote for several thousand dollars for this job. Next day I decided to get other opinions and called Virgil's. They came out, rodded the drain, and got us up back up and running. While they could well have corroborated that quote and attempted to get the more costly job for their own company, they did the honest thing and got us back up and running instead of holding us over a barrel for profit, as I felt the other company was attempting to do. Everything has always been done well and at a reasonable price. Virgil's is our go to for these issues, no question, no doubt. They've proven they're honest, they've proven they know what they're doing and they've proven that if you have a serious issue they understand the urgency of some situations, and will jump on it to get you back up and going. That has carried forward for years at this point. There are plenty of companies in this and other fields that, in my opinion, will make every attempt to take advantage of a bad situation for you to turn it into a highly profitable one for them. These guys are not those people. Thinking about it now, the first time they came out they didn't know me from Adam. I wasn't sent to them on recommendation by a friend, a colleague or whatever, but blindly pulled them off of Google looking for a second opinion on something that didn't seem right to me, and it turns out it wasn't. I have no reason to think they don't treat everyone this way in giving an honest assessment of what you actually need and going about getting it done at a fair price. Have a problem, or need some sort of other work done, pick up the phone, you've found your guy.....

Here are my issues: 1. No estimate was provided (written or verbal). 2. The plumber complained when I asked him to provide a silver shower head plate when all of the bath fixtures had been changed to silver. 3. I had another plumber come to fix the leak and it turns out the plumber installed a cracked balancer in the shower controls. Stay away. A fraud at its finest.

It was time for a new water heater recently, so we tried Keith Durso Plumbing, mainly because of great reviews by his customers. This time we were delighted! As others have described, Keith is highly knowledgeable, very professional, honest and friendly. His charges were far less than other companies that we had contacted. Keith Durso Plumbing is highly recommended! We will have quite a bit more plumbing work to be done next month, and we will certainly be seeing Keith doing that work.

Russ's replaced the old pipe with 4" solid PVC pipe and installed additional pipe to route water from two other downspouts to the dry well too. Russ and his son Mike and their crew completed this large job in about ten hours and I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and my interactions with them. 25 years ago, I used Russ's to tie the sump pump discharge at my previous house into the storm sewer and they did an excellent job then as well. I would recommend Russ's without any hesitation!

Since I had a good…read moreexperience in the past, I called with an issue over the weekend to be sure I could get in line for Monday. After hearing nothing into the early afternoon on Monday, I called the office. The reception person said she would have a tech call me. An hour+ later, I had heard nothing back, and since it was getting late in the day I called again. Apparently the staff was on a "big job" with no idea of how long it could take. She wanted to push me off til the next day; I declined (this was why I called ahead!) She said, "I already waived the $100 emergency fee"...what emergency? It's not like my place was flooding, and when I called I didn't say, "I need a plumber in an hour" or something. It's apparently because "they wouldn't be in the area." I finally had her cancel the appointment. The new parent company is A&P Grease Trapping, and the Blue Whale number is now answered "A&P," which was confusing until I looked it up. But I do not recommend this plumber any longer; the scheduling and customer care needs a lot of work with this new arrangement.
