They were on time on both visits - which you don't find from a lot of indy guys. I would use them again and refer them to my friends!

I had placed the pool table with the help of my friends and family on a stack of mats in our carriage house with lots of room all around it, as we did not want to break it down to bring it into my home. As I said, the installation was perfect, but I was charged nearly full price for the breakdown and reassembly from the carriage house to the billiard room (60-70 feet) and subjected to their complaints about the pool table not being up on its legs. I had to leave early and my father remained with them, who reported an even more abrasive attitude towards him. One crew was wonderful, the other did it's job, but went out of its way to be mean since he was not working in ideal conditions (the table was not on it's own legs).

It is nice and glossy and it effectively removed that creepy unfinished clay like chalkboard feeling. They said it is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe so excited to get it in rotation! They have a pretty quick turnaround time (3-5 days) and are very generous with their hold times. I embarrassingly will admit it took me a few months to get back to pick them up, and thankfully they still had them waiting in the back. Also, the garage DOES go through to the back of the building where The Painting Place is - so the directions are correct. It was much easier to get there this time when I realized it was a pull-through garage under the building lol.... I will definitely keep The Painting Place on my list for pottery crafts in the future!!

They even had pre-made paint palettes as an option. They also have some pottery pieces and things you can paint and take home the same day, but you can't eat from those items as they don't go thru the kiln. There wasn't a ton of variety in the pottery pieces to choose from, and the prices were a bit high compared to what I've seen in the past. We enjoyed our time. There were only two other parties there so it was very quiet and peaceful. Tip: if you use GPS for directions, it'll point you to the building across from theirs. They're right across from the Russian School. Their sign is a bit hidden. They do have a free parking lot.

Is a bit pricey, wish it were just a bit cheaper, so I could justify going more often, but they do have special events where they discount the studio fee- like a BYOB ladies night once a month, for example. My daughter and I made a mug and bowl for fathers day, and cost us about $60. Ouch! ( loss of one star for the price factor.) Wet back to pick up a week later, hers was ready, mine was not. (I won't drop a star, since we went on a stormy day, and everyone was making fathers day gifts! So I'm sure it was that they were overloaded with items that weekend!) If I listed even half of the categories you can find at KPD this review would be WAY too long but suffice to say, if you collect it or dream of it, you will probably find it at KPD. The toy section seems endless with many high quality, highly desirable collectibles. Unlike usual consignment shops, some areas are rented by local artists with amazing art. Honestly, we could have spent 1/2 a day there and not have begun to scratch the surface of the inventory. The setting is great-super high ceilings, old wood floors and creative displays. The owner was super friendly, available as needed. We can't wait to return, as my daughter said, "We need to come back all the time or we will miss something!" While there check out Brooklyn +Rye & Infusion Art Glass. After you work up an appetite you can get a delicious healthy meal or snack at Good Earth Holistic Kitchen or Wild Hare (by the Medusa Brewery people) which will operate as a specialty coffee cafe and lunch spot by day and a sophisticated, intimate dinner spot and brewery by night.
