Worst service I've ever had from Mark, he was rude, told me that he only pours good drinks for people who tip him well before he even knew what I was going to tip him or I even got my check, but I will admit it has been pretty funny watching the review drama that's been going on for the past week when "Essi" posted a review and all of a sudden Mark has 5 reviews in one week, 4 of them specifically mentioning his name and how awesome he is. While before that he was getting (on average) one review a year. Come on man, at least make it look believable. And who wants to look at this gross sh** while they're eating. Went last night with roughly myself and eight other friends, had one table, played some darts, stayed there for about six hours. Shortly after most of my friends arrived, I asked how renting the tables worked as I'd never been there and was given the number for my tab and a set of balls, no issue. I showed the man four of these cards which were given to my friend during his last visit because of this situation, in his words: "I obtained these cards because the billiards cafe lost my debit card. I was confused when later on that night, I received a notification from my bank about a declined transaction. I thought it was weird but didn't have time to go back up the bar to check on what had happened. When I went to go close my tab, I learned that my debit card was given to another customer and I was given these four "Free Pool for an Hour" cards as an apology for them losing my debit card." I showed the man, I believe his name was John, these four cards when I first got the pool balls and asked if I was supposed to give them to him now or later. He said, "Yeah you can give me those when you guys are done." I figured that makes sense in case we played less than four hours. Lo and behold I go up to the guy to close my tab after playing for nearly six hours, and he berates me and tells me that I should've told him sooner and that he would only try to use two of the cards. He then told me that his system would not allow him to use more than ONE of the cards. Do you really expect my friend to go back on four separate occasions and only use one of these cards per time? If I closed my tab after an hour, used one of these cards, and opened a new tab, could I use more than one card? I'm assuming he was a manager or even the owner of the place due to his demeanor, and I'm sure he has the power to override something like that. With the 20% gratuity that they insist you pay on the back of their menu (never normally have an issue with that), I lost about $55. Overall shady business practices and won't be going back. Owner's response: Hello I am sorry that you had such a terrible time lastnight that we recieved a 1 star review. John is not the manager or the owner, he is one of our newest bartenders and he did what he is trained to do. The conouter system does not allow more than 1 of the free hour cards used per transaction. Usually they are given out as a thank you to a customer or to new people when leaving for their next visit. I remember your friend and I remember giving him those cards when him and another customers cards got switched and he was more than understanding and very respectful about the situation. When I give them out it's usually only 1 but if it is more than 1 I let the customer know you can only use one per night. So before you berate our buisness and employees maybe consider that they were doing their job right and maybe there was a little miscommunication between your friend that gave them to you and yourself. I'm sorry you feel that way and won't be back over this situation. Have a good day sir! My response to the owner: I did not berate your employees, your employee berated me. My frustration is indeed with your business, not your employees. I shared your disrespectful, unprofessional response to my friend and he said with absolute certainty that he was NOT informed that he could only use one card a night. If that was the case, don't you think he would have told me as much? I also want to make it very clear that I was using these cards WITH my friend and that I started the tab because I was the first to arrive. Despite his "respectful and understanding" response to the original situation, we both feel the exact same about this situation, especially considering you did NOT tell him about the one-card-per-night policy and it's written nowhere on the cards. If your employee was trained properly, he would have told me that you can only use one card per tab/night when I showed him the four cards at the beginning of the night. But he didn't, and so he was not trained properly - that's on you. The right thing would be to refund me the difference, and be more clear with how the cards can be used for future customers, but you didn't do that. Judging by this response and the drivel written on the back of your menu, you don't care about your customers at all, and that's a shame. read more

Got a chance to hang out here on a Friday night with my brothers. We had a blast! They had a few tables open, which was great. It wasn't all that busy but busy enough. They had a "dj", if you can call a guy with a laptop a dj. But the drinks were great and we even talked to the owners. They're awesome. The place is nice and big and very well lit and the tables are EXCELLENT. Very level and in great shape. The pool cues are way better than what you'd expect at a rental place. We had a blast. - My tip; while the place advertises that they close at 11 PM, they are open later than that ;) read more

While we had fun, 16 buck an hour to shoot on only decent (not great) tables is abusive. While they did pour some mean drinks, the food was awful. Perhaps the pizza was frozen before it went into the oven, that would be the only reason the center of the pizza was waterlogged and under cooked. Good fries but the overpriced chicken was worse than "parts is parts" chicken. We will never return. read more

The place is great. I love that there's a billiard hall in such a beautiful venue, with lots of character. I also love that there's a snooker table - a very rare thing in the US. The bar service was very poor. My friend and I had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. There were two bar staff, one sitting at the bar, on her smart phone, the other standing there. It was as if we were disturbing them when we wanted another beer. Why didn't one circulate among the tables, asking if folks wanted another drink, and get it for them? Though I cannot give a review for the billiards and bar experience I can, however, say that they were very gracious having us there and the place looks amazing. My husband and I decided to check out the Billiards Cafe after having dinner in town. We arrived at around 7pm on Saturday night. The staff asked which table we preferred, and we were quickly racking our first game. There were only a few other groups in the hall when we got there, and when we left an hour and a half later, there were just about the same number. Which I didn't mind at all, I'm not a big one for crowds. We played a few games and had a couple of drinks. The drink prices are very reasonable, my Guinness was only $4.25 for a pint. Since we'd come from dinner, we didn't try any of the appetizers. But we did look at the menu, and think we'll be trying some next time. There wasn't a waitress, everything, including the check in and out, was done at the bar. The tables are in good condition, the cues are a little bendy, but that's to be expected with hall cues. There's ample chalk at each table, and wooden racks. The atmosphere is pleasantly dark, each table has its own light and that's most of the illumination in the room. There were plenty of places to put your drink, with lots of tables and chairs scattered throughout the billiards tables. The bar has some of its own tables and a couple of large, hi-def, flat screen TVs. We had a good time, we'll be going back again. I'm wondering what the crowd will be like on a night when they have an event, with only 13 tables... I'll let you know when we find out. If you want a low key place to play pool, this is the place to go. read more

This is a great family-friendly place to play pool. The room is large and clean, with high ceilings and TVs mounted conveniently to most of the space. There's ample room around all the tables, and reasonable places to sit handy (almost all of it tall chairs from which it's easy to really watch the games). All the tables are 9', and in very good condition with tournament cloth and excellent cushions. There's a back room with 2 tables that makes an excellent place for small parties (or, you can rent the whole place). The bar has a very good variety of beers on tap, and several nice wines. Food is standard bar-style fare, but tasty and served with a smile. The fries are outstanding. Monday is the big APA league night - at most 1 or 2 tables available for non-league play (but ask about joining a team). They've added a 12 foot snooker table. read more

Really fun and spacious place to play pool. There were easily more than 10 tables plus a snooker table. We did just a little over an hour of pool and the cost was about $11 - very affordable. Had the homestyle wings (a little too salty) and sweet potato fries (very good with ranch dip!). Would come again. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I've been coming to this place for over 3 years now and I dig it. It's a good place to meet up with some friends and hang out, whether playing pool or just having a couple of beers. My only gripes are basically with the service that can be a little disorganized at times. While the service is good, I've (or friends have) had a couple of occasions where they forgot to put an order in for food or forgot to check on it later. I recommend the bar's own Cal Dog brew. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. the place is very clean and appealing for groups. They have numerous pool tables including a Snooker table which is a plus if you play Snooker. This place is a great setup for a pool hall. It's not hidden in some basement in a dark building. There are great tall ceiling and large windows that overlook the little main street. Also, there is plenty of parking in a back lot as well as on street parking. The staff is a core group of people, and the owner is very friendly and welcoming and recognizes you after a few visits. Also a good place for the family. I discovered Billiard's Cafe 3 years ago and absolutely love everything about it. They have 15 (I think) 9-foot pool tables in great shape and a snooker table. They have a nice bar with tables nearby as well as throughout the pool hall. The place is very clean and every one of the staff are super nice. I've only eaten the wings and they were delicious. Prices for pool and food are reasonable. Lots of free parking behind the building and on the street. read more

The inside was such a surprise. After walking up The long staircase you enter a huge area with pool tables for professionals all the seating is high chair and tables. Cool jukebox endless selection. Awesome black dog sitting under his own sign an ad for a brew named for him I'm guessing. Bartender woman was great at crafting martinis for me. I hope they come up with a martini menu. Not enough great things can be said about this place. Combine a well kept pool hall with an antique store and a hunter's galleria- and you have it. Once again, Calvin and Dawn came through in a BIG way! My company had a community give-back function near by and Billiards Café opened early for us so we could kick-back and relax after the event. We had a few beers, played a little billiards and got to hang out with each other outside the workplace.
